Del Taco

Cashiers are always nice and efficient. If you walk in expecting your food in a reasonable time, get back in your car and go thru the drive-​thru. One of the manager’s pushed to get the cars thru, as my son’s order wasn’t made, and when they finally finished it, about 12 car orders had been pushed thru. I told the manager, she said they had one big order to fill. Five big windows and 12 cars, I must be blind, RIGHT.

It takes a lot to get me excited enough about a drive thru fast food place to write about it on Unilocal,but I have had so many repeated great experiences here, that I finally had to come and sing my praises.
I come on my lunch break, and am often in a hurry to get back to work. Recently, there were 17 cars in the drive thru when I arrived and I was driving away with my food within 8 minutes. This place is FAST, and somehow, their food always manages to taste fresh. The taco shells are never stale, and everything comes out hot and tasting fresh. How they manage that with the lightning fast speeds, I’ll never know, but they do.
The employees working the drive thru each time I come are polite, competent and have never gotten my order wrong despite the fact that they’re incredibly busy every single time.
The manager I see working inside every time I drive through is always actively working to help speed things along and I can tell from watching her that she runs that place efficiently while she is in charge. That is the only way they can get so many cars through the drive through in such crazy small periods of time.
Bottom line, this Del Taco makes their food perfectly, their employees are kind and helpful, and the whole place is run like a well-​oiled machine. This is rare for a fast food chain, so I appreciate it!

This place has gone way downhill. Went here for lunch today and ordered green burritos. There wasn’t any green sauce in the burritos. Also, the last few times we have been here the french fries have been on the mushy side. If you want crispy french fries don’t go here. They didn’t even give out a receipt so no survey could be done. Interesting…

Got a veggie burrito (no cheese or sour cream), and just bit into a big piece of chicken. Being a vegan, that’s basically the worst thing can happen (in the food world). The workers here are always pretty grumpy. I try to go to the one on Orangethorpe, if I have extra time. Won’t be coming back at all, after this «meat experience». The picture is from the other day.

I had a really bad experience today. 1, they missed items that I ordered and charged me for it. 2, I ordered «chili cheese fries» a got my chili on the side which wasn’t even close to being enough and it came without cheese. This place is decent the majority of the time but today sucked.

If u see more than one car in front of u, go somewhere else!!! Slowest drive thru ever!

Just wanted to comment on the service you get at this location! They are so awesome! Especially the blonde girl at the drive thru window today around 2:30pm on December 22. She was the most friendly employee I’ve encountered in a long time at a fast food joint. Thank you for making my day a little brighter by your generous attitude and friendly spirit. I have two locations I normally go to: this one and the one on Tustin Ave. and out of both of these locations I have to say this one is the best! I’ve had their breakfast as well as the regular menu and everything is good!
The employees always get my complicated order right every time and never mess up! To me that means ALOT!
You get your food quickly and accurate, it tastes good so that’s all that matters!

This actually was the rudest drive thru I have ever encountered. The drive thru cashier was belittling and seemed very annoyed at the fact I did not have the menu memorized and when I asked if there was a vegetarian burrito, you would think I asked for something foreign no one had ever asked before. She did not repeat my order, so I repeated what I asked for and she had to stress «yes Ma’am» as if taking my order was the most difficult thing she has ever undertaken in her life. I will pass on this drive thru going forward. I can spend my money elsewhere. I attempted again to repeat my order and while I was speaking, she again, very annoyed said «Yes, Ma’am, I got it” – well apparently not, my order was wrong. I was here on Oct 23^rd at 1:26pm if anyone at Del Taco would like to present the «Rudest Drive Thru Attendant» award to this female employee.

This is my neighborhood Del, my niece even used to work here. Wow this place has gone down hill. They have all these bitchy white girls now that suck with customer service and order accuracy. I just got my burritos… thanks for smashing them. We frequent here at least 2 times a week but I think it may be worth the drive to the Placentia Ave location instead.

Their fish taco is ok, but the asada taco tastes like beef jerky. For the same price I should have gone to other places that serve better tacos.

The girl working the drive-​thru on Saturday, June 20^th forgot to give me my debit card back. I know I should have been paying better attention, but it’s their job to give your card back with the receipt. Food and service was normal, but now I have to drive all the way back to this location. Just a small inconvenience.

seriously, every employee at this location provides the most excellent customer service. and considering I work in customer service, it makes me happy to see that others work just as hard at their job. especially Martina, who the best. she is extremely nice and always in a joyful mood, which makes the food taste even better. thank you Martina, for being extra amazing! :)

had a very BAD experience with the manager. corporate heard me out and I feel better. so instead of my long story and a 1 star. I’ll give them 3 since most of the staff has a positive attitude. but in will still never come back.

Yummmm… my order wasn’t completely correct but it was a huge order and my kids were telling the kid what they wanted faster than he could put it in.

They need employee screenings for ineptitude. The drive thru lady forgot items on my order, so i entered the drive thru again, just to have her get the order wrong a second time. I decided that it wasnt worth the wait and the risk of them spitting in my food so decided to just leave with what i got. I cant have del taco without their hot sauce, so i asked for packets of infernos. The same lady screwed that up too and i had ketchup with my chicken soft tacos…

If I could leave no stars I would. Actually, all the workers here are pretty kind it’s the assistant manager who is the rudest! Manager? More like dictator!!! Her name is Carmen and all she does is bark orders at her employees just because she’s bored. I saw her do NOTHING the whole time I was there and she just made everyone look miserable. I feel so bad for everyone working there, as if working at a fast food place wasn’t hard enough, these people have to deal with this chick. Get her out!!!

If Taco Bell is the McDonald’s of Mexican food, then Del Taco is like Burger King. This drive-​thru gives fast and friendly service any time I stop by, but may not get your order right during the lunch rush.

Originally known as Casa Del Taco, their sworn arch-​nemesis is Taco Bell, and I come here for lunch to satisfy my taco craving.
CHICKEN HARD TACO
Add some sour cream, minus the secret sauce. I usually order 4 of them and douse packets of Mild Sauce over the cheddar cheese. They’re cheap and the taste is always consistent.
Lately, Del Taco’s french fries have caught my attention. Tacos and french fries aren’t your usual mix, but I have to admit that it hits the spot. Long night of partying? It does the trick.
LOADED CARNITAS FRIES
Seems a little pricey for $ 3.50, but crinkle cut fries topped with carnitas, cheese, cilantro, onions, and secret sauce are quite delicious. Not too salty and way better than just the plain fries. The cilantro and sauce (reminds me of mayo) adds flavor, along with a decent amount of seasoned carnitas.
This Placentia location is one of almost 600 locations in the US. Founded in 1964 in Yermo, CA and headquartered in Lake Forest, CA, I can understand why some people choose Del Taco over Taco Bell. The staff here is friendly and never stingy on condiments. They usually leave a bouquet of hot sauce packets on each table as well.
Since, I’ve been trying to eat better these days, I’m hesitant to frequent the place. Del Taco’s past slogan states to either «Go Bold or Go Home.» As of the moment, I’d rather just go home.
