Had this place a few more times and the whiteness really started to shine through in a bad way. Perhaps Chinese food is best left up to the Chinese.

My husband loved Chin Ting. It thought the sweet and sour pork was excellent. I like that the restaurant was very clean and the servers were friendly. The overall food was very good. We went on a Saturday night and it was busy but not crowded. We will be going back.

Not at all authentic. I feel really bad writing this review especially since the owners of the establishment are so kind. To be very honest, their ‘chinese’ food lacks the authenticity of real Chinese food. Chin ting makes the pf changs frozen entrees at the supermarket sound SO delicious. The ambience of the restaurant also lacks the look of an actual restaurant. It looks though as if the unit was a clothing store and chin ting just moved in without creating a restaurant appeal. Sad to say but we will not be returning. Would rather go to Panda Express where the food tastes better.

This is such a difficult review to write… I want to LOVE this place, but I’m afraid I didn’t. I grew up dining at the Fullerton location. On Sundays my parents would take the whole family to Chin-Ting up on Sunnycrest. The food was so authentic and delicious. Then a while ago they closed… or moved as I heard. We decided to followup them out to Yorba Linda at their new location. I was so excited to get back to my roots. I am so sad to say that the food was so lack-luster. I have had so much better, I even think Panda Express is better than the food that was served. One thing I will say however, is that the service was impeccable! Everyone was BEYOND nice and super friendly! They went above and beyond in their service and attention to our table. Will I go again? Probably not as the food was so average(at best). But its possible they just has an off day?

Some friends took me here for the first time on Saturday. They had been several times and really enjoyed it. I had no expectations and left feeling satisfied. The food is really ok. LOL. Apparently one night they started talking to the owners, two causcasian guys who love Asian food. They started the restaurant in Fullerton and moved to this location in Placentia. We got the Dinner B, which included wrapped chicken, egg roll, bbq pork piece, cup of soup and one entrée for $ 16.75 a person. We had to special request steamed rice. We got chicken chow mein, cashew shrimp, szechuan beef and the buddha’s feast. The food was decent. Nothing really stood out as outstanding but it was better than most take out places. I still like Pick Up Stix or Panda better, not sure that is a compliment. Probably just means its really Americanized. As far as atmosphere or décor I don’t really remember any. Everything was beige and white. So nothing really to report there. It was all very tasteful and nice.

Ya know, this is indeed somewhat Americanized Chinese food. But it’s good. Really good. And I don’t like ethnic food that much. Americanized is more than fine with me. If you don’t expect it to be really ethnic you will find the freshness and the preparation of the food here is well worth it. Prices are pretty reasonable too, especially for lunch. It’s not fancy, more on the plain side for decorations. But more than comfortable. It’s in a strip mall type center occupying a couple of stores. Have the Green Tea Ice Cream for dessert if they have it. I was there last weekend and the didn’t have any. Very refreshing, cleanses the palate after a good meal. I recommend Chin Ting.

Kids wanted Panda and the adults wanted ‘real Chinese food’. Adults won, but sadly Panda would have been better… Staff is very friendly. Food is your standard Americanized Chinese food. Nothing on the menu really jumped out at me. The Lemon Chicken was good, the Orange Chicken was awful. Sizzling Chicken was unique, but not extraordinary in taste. Family of 4 can eat for around $ 50.00

It is hard for me to like Chinese food when I think about all the calories and how heavy it is, but Chin Ting is the first Chinese Restaurant I’ve been to in years and I enjoyed it. The food was good, but the service was exceptional! Everyone who was working was very friendly and helpful! My water glass was never empty and they refilled my wine from the bottle we bought we they saw it getting low.

I’ve been a patron since 1994(when they were in Fullerton) and we were pleasantly surprised to find their new location even closer to our home(now in the IE). The food is great(we love their steamed pot sitckers, honey walnut chicken, and sweet and sour pork). The ambience was more upscale and authentic(think speak easy) at the old location, but the service and food haven’t changed — still great. And their prices are very reasonable too! Highly recommended.

I just recently started working in the area(near Tustin and La Palma) and have been trying to find some good food spots around here for lunch. I’ve been to a few places I think the reviews of this place are based solely on the service. I’m only giving this place two-stars BECAUSE of that. Otherwise, the food and experience were completely abysmal. This is about as Americanized as you can make Chinese food. I’m hesitant to try any other Chinese food around here if it’s anything like this. For the record I had their lunch special honey walnut shrimp and this is a dish that is usually hit or miss with a lot of places. The dish came with a salad that looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. I went with the fried rice which looked like steamed rice fried with some soy sauce and that’s it. Holy hell. Target missed completely.

Classic sit down chinese restaurant! This place is great. The staff is very friendly. The food is top notch Americanized Chinese Cuisine. They serve hot Oolong tea and fried wonton’s with sauce as a precursor to your meal. The portions served family style are enormous and the price is cheap. I’m really not sure how they make a profit on serving such quality food at a low price. It’s almost never crowded when I’ve been there. I’d eat there more but I’m watching my sodium. Make sure you try the Cashew Chicken. Their version of Orange Peel Chicken is great too. I’ve been there for lunch, dinner and takeout several times and the experience is always perfect. If you were wondering, give it a try!

A few friends joined me a for a friday night of dinner and bar-hopping. It was my turn to choose the location of where we would be eating dinner that night. I chose Chin Ting, as it is walking distance from my house. I had eaten there one time before. I ordered take-out: orange chicken and fried rice. This order tasted good, however, how can a chinese restaurant really butcher orange chicken and fried rice? Well, several weeks later, when we decided to eat in Chin Ting, we were faced with a series of unfortunate events. It started when my friend had mentioned something regarding one of the soups. The waiter insisted that my friend’s opinion was uneducated, and suggested that every soup made in alternative establishments were false when compared to Chin Ting. To none of our surprise, we were quick to learn that soup, and the fried wontons that came with it, were mediocre at best. Applause to them for managing to make soup at a chinese restaurant taste like barbecue sauce. The fried wontons tasted and felt like tortilla chips. The waiter managed to get a piece of already-chewed gum stuck between his pants and a plate that he served to our table with food on it, then managed to mutter the word, «disgusting» after being asked to rectify the issue. The main entrée was dry, bland, and far from authentic. When the waiter asked how the food tasted, I politely replied, «Well, it just wasn’t what we were expecting.» Again, he insisted Chin Ting contained the most authentic chinese food available. He supported this statement by saying that«a real chinese family cooks in the back,» After witnessing our dissatisfaction, he apologized and offered us coupons for 20% off of our next visit. I apologize Chin Ting, but I do not foresee any additional dinners in your establishment in the near future.

My husband and I were searching the internet for a Chinese Food Place near Anaheim Hills that delivers(which is basically impossible to find). We saw Chin Ting was in Placentia, and decided to see if they delivered to our area… and they did! The man that answered the phone was very pleasant to talk to, and gave some great suggestions for delicious chicken dishes that we could order. The food was delivered to us within 30 minutes, was reasonably priced, and tasted great. We ordered Chicken Chow Mein, Orange Zest Chicken, and Honey Walnut Chicken(all of which we would recommend). Orange Zest chicken is similar to the traditional Orange Chicken. but with a kick! We would recommend this restaurant as a good Chinese delivery place. We have not been to the location, so we cannot comment on the service in the restaurant etc.

Located just around the corner for us, this has become our neighborhood Chinese restaurant. If I could, I’d give it 3.5 stars. This is American-ized Chinese food. That doesn’t mean it isn’t good. It is. The food is fresh and prepared with care. We ate: Pot Stickers — deep fried, pork filled, generous Szcheuan Beef — not spicy here at all and a bit sweet but somehow still tasty Salted Pork Chops — tasty, tender Chinese Tacos — Oh, c’mon. With something like that on the menu, we had to try it. It tastes like MuShu pork served in a lettuce bowl. Pretty tasty. The beauty of Chin Ting is that the food is fresh, the service is amazing, and the staff pays attention to detail. The dinner plates are warmed before being brought out. The water glasses are never empty. The almond cookies are fresh and served warm at the end of a meal. If we want Chinese food as close as we can get without traveling overseas, we drive. However, if we want some tasty Chinese close to home with amazing service, we stop by Chin Ting.

I had dinner here last week in a group of four, and the experience was positive overall. The dining area is clean, tastefully decorated(not the massage parlor action that sometimes happens in local Chinese restaurants), and extremely comfortable. There are a variety of options to choose from if you’re eating with at least one other person, and they are all great values. Our party went with an option that ran about $ 14 per person and included constant refills of hot tea, choice of soup, a variety of appetizers, one entrée choice per person(family style, so you can share wildly), and fortune and almond cookies at the end. By the way, my food recommendations from this option(option A) are hot and sour soup, chicken chow mien, and moo shu pork. One of the most notable aspects of the evening was the service, which was outstanding. Everyone who came to our table was exceedingly polite and attentive without being overbearing. This point alone made me certain that I’ll return many times.

Not sure how this place got 4 stars but here’s my take on Chin Ting. I’ve eaten more Chinese food than Mao Tse Dong and I can tell you that this place is just average. Nothing fancy, just your average tasting fast food type Chinese. Would I go there again? Probably would. Would I say it’s the«Best Chinese Food in the OC»? Definitely not. Some people are just too easily impressed. Reminds me of all the hype about House of Nanking in San Francisco. Yes, there’s always a line outside the door but the food is not that great. I have a theory that when people are on vacation their good moods make all of their experiences better than they actually are. I say this because most of the rave reviews about Nanking are from tourists. I digress. In summary, go to Chin Ting to eat reasonably priced average tasting Chinese food. Do not go there expecting«the best» or there will be disappointment.

Chinese Women are beautiful, but I came here for the food. The food here was quite exquisite. Here in the city of Placentia, not too far from the area of Anaheim I visited a nice establishment. Its in s striplet with some fast food places and lots of parking. Its not fast food, but they brought it to us in under 20 min. We took to go, but I plan to come back, the area was quite lovely, calm and relaxing. The waiters were freindly and the atmosphere quiet and coordial. Beef & Brocoli Excellent! not soggy, not stale, just brocoli, the beef was good, not as salty as fast chinese food places. My freind had the Mongolian beef which looked, nice, smelled nice, I should get some next time. The fried rice was was tasty, not overpowering, not too dry. There was sauce on the side but I did not need any. Lunch menu’s are incredibly cheap, al la carte is more expensive. I do plan to return to try more of thier food. I look forward to dining in next time. I would recomend this place to others.

Chin Ting just opened about a month ago and the owner told us that they had not had their grand opening yet. My friend and I stumbled upon this place after finding out the Thai place he wanted to eat at was closed. We placed a to go order and the food came out like 5 minutes later. The owner and the delivery boy chatted with us as we waited. They were very nice. Because the place is new, it is clean inside and there is a lingering smell of fresh paint. My lemon chicken was very fresh and crispy. Also the portions were huge. My friend got some spicy tofu dish he said it was really good but wished it was spicier.
