This place is amazing. They serve the dark maple syrup here… from across the street. The pancakes are amazing. They have all sorts of goodies… tomatillo salsa, cowboy sauce, creamy maple dressing… check out their very eclectic menu… I will be back to try everything

Harvest Moon is chef owned and operated and it shows!!! I Had one of the most unique best breakfasts ever!!! The menu was incredibly diverse and utilized many local ingredients. They bake all there own breads, desserts and pastries. They also smoke their own meats in house. I had the«moon cakes» which are a delightfully thin crispy pancake coated with scrambled egg and filled with VT cheddar cheese, spuds, bacon and maple syrup! The blueberry oatmeal pancakes were hearty and delicious! I will definitely be back

A friend took me to the Harvest Moon Café for lunch and I was very impressed. The owner was low key and very attentive to us. He was obviously very passionate about his restaurant. I had one more great lunch there and last night I talked my wife into stopping there for dinner. I’ll spare you the suspense and tell you that she’s pretty fussy and she loved it. The menu here is so varied and has so many wonderful choices that you may be telling your server to come back in a few minutes more than once. Too many dishes on a menu can be a real negative in many restaurants but not here. I dare you to pick a dish that doesn’t convince you it belongs on this menu. I had the Sugar House burger cooked to a perfect medium rare and topped with lettuce, tomato and freshly cooked bacon and get this, grilled onions. That was a nice touch. The steak fries were unremarkable but perfect. Robyn had two of her favorite things which she serves me often and rarely orders out so as not to be disappointed. She found her crab cake to be delightful, not over seasoned and full of lump crab meat. Her spanikopita was a different interpretation from hers but she loved it. Sometimes in a really fine restaurant you will see them do something really smart. Our server did not ask us if we «saved room for dessert» nor did she offer to show us a dessert menu. No, she brought that dessert tray right to the table. I’ll bet twice as many people order dessert at this place because of this practice. And they come back and order again because the desserts are just outrageously good. Robyn’s dessert passion is the Chocolate Éclair and she declared hers to be one of the finest she’s ever had. The only thing that prevents me from giving them that fifth star is the puny beer selection. Only two craft beers on tap, but our Switchback Ales were quite tasty. Other than that this was a great splurge at about $ 50 and I strongly recommend that if you’re driving up or down Route 7 treat yourself. Don’t miss it. You’ll be back.

Fantastic variety on this menu. All dishes I’ve had or sampled now after 2 visits have been worthy of ordering. First trip was a café burger with locally raised beef, sliced bacon and VT made cheddar. Second try was manicotti w/Italian sweet sausage and a bold tomato based meat sauce that is deep red and awakens the palate with an explosion of flavor. The deserts here are home made and should not be passed over. A real treat to have such a great restaurant choice located in Rutland County. Put this place on your list to visit…
