Attorney Syd Smithers called me back after I requested a quote on what his firms’ services would cost to represent in a real estate closing plus title registration, transfer, and insurance. He flew off the handle when I used the terminology «$ 1800 bid» and flat out hung up on me. He then wouldn’t take my call, so I called from an alternate IP phone and got ahold of him to apologize. He was very short with me, finally reiterating another attorney that might be able to help before again abruptly hanging up.
I don’t think I would do business with this firm if this is the way they treat the majority of their prospective clients. I’m just a home owner trying to close on a foreclosure, so I understand I’m a small client but there is no reason for politeness and civic candor to be thrown out the window. I am not your legal opposition in the court of law — I’m a human being making an inquiry without wasting your time. The total time elapsed on the first phone call was 31 seconds and the second phone call approximately 21 seconds, yet Syd Smithers flew off the handle both times.
Time to restructure the firm and get some level heads answering general inquiry phone calls.
