take a class with Jill! It’s fun and you can be at any level to take this class — they make you feel welcome if you’re new and jill is the best!(but they’re all nice) I was surprised by how much I ended up sweating and how sore I felt the next day after the first class but you feel super great after doing these classes. Bonus — the first class you take is free! Also, if it’s your first time, don’t wear shorts — your knees should be covered basically due to the moves in class.

Great energy and music mix. I really enjoyed the variety of moves. And yes, I’m shaking and sore by the end of class. I’m visiting from Phoenix(job training) and signed up for a two-week unlimited package. The 7 p.m. classes aren’t crowded and there is plenty of parking. I found the staff welcoming and inviting. It’s been great to find a studio with such high caliber instructors and studio space.

Pure Barre Mt. Lebanon is great! They exceeded my expectations more than I could imagine. I’ve done barre in the past but Pure Barre is far more challenging. The instructors are also so kind and encouraging!

I went expecting ballet. Ballet it is not-although there is a barre. This was one of the most finely tuned classes I’ve ever taken. The movements are small but effective. At one point I was certain that my legs would not hold me upright. The shaking was intense. The soreness is real. I will return for more. Hannah is fantastic at the Scott location. Go see her right now.

Pure barre Mt. Lebanon is amazing! The classes are great and very effective! The staff & trainers are all so friendly and helpful. I was a beginner with no barre or dance experience prior to joining in October! I absolutely loved coming here and loved all the promotions and contest they did! The instructors are very supportive, motivating and made working out enjoyable!

Holy amazing work out!(and by amazing I mean butt kicking!) I was not really sure about the class, but a friend convinced me to go try it. I am a gym rat, I admit. I am usually in the back with the«big boys» lifting weights and sweating. This workout is way more calm, with lighting changes and good tunes playing. The workout is way less jumping and big movements. It is a whole body work out and the next day you BURN.(in a good way) My abs were sore, my butt was sore and I loved it. If you havent tried barre, I highly recommend. The instructors are very friendly and walk around a lot to correct your form, which I appreciate. They answer questions at the end of class and will talk you through any difficulties.

It’s surprising that I’m the first person to review Mt. Lebanon’s PB. Not that they need Unilocal; classes there are often packed and need waitlists! I am going to copy and paste my review from PB Pittsburgh in 2013, because that’s how consistent the PB experience is… «Pure Barre, you are the best. I just finished my new client special of one month unlimited classes at a discount. And man, after less than three weeks into it – what’s that in the mirror? Definition?! Muscles changing?! If you’re like me, you won’t understand the rationale of sweating in $ 80 pants and a $ 50 shirt. If you’re like a lot of the other clients there, you’ll look super, super cute and trendy while exercising. Either way, it’s fine. Be happy you are getting a workout that is effective. The results are where most of the motivation comes from. I can tell you – as a non-athlete and a pastry fiend – Pure Barre will improve your physical fitness quickly, even if you’re like me and can only hold a position for 20 seconds at a time. The rest of the motivation comes from instructors that are helpful and encouraging, perfectly tempo’d music, and the fact that each exercise lasts for mere minutes, so you’re always almost finished! The whole hour flies by. Pure Barre gets 5 stars from me because it’s a 5-star service, no question about it. However, unless you can attend a „Breaking Down the Bar“ workshop(there wasn’t one offered during my month), you will only learn the technique gradually. This can be frustrating because you want to get the most out of your investment. Still, it’s not a huge deal because it’s a great workout regardless, and the instructors will answer any questions you have and correct your form. I suggest trying a few classes with different instructors because they each have their own style, though the classes themselves are all very uniform. So glad Pure Barre came to Pittsburgh [Mt. Lebanon], and so glad I discovered it!» My only critique is that I wish there was more emphasis put on modifications for varying experience levels(not only to accommodate injuries, pregnancy, or special circumstances, which they gladly do upon request). It varies by teacher, and some are really good about it, but I would like it if modifications were consistently suggested. I only buy packages once or twice a year, so I am always«new» and that can lead to unnecessary back/neck strain when trying to hold certain positions without an existing foundation of strength. Anyhow, everyone should try Pure Barre! It’s pretty great!
