Point Brugge is where I celebrate birthdays and accomplishments, or where I go when I just really need to treat myself! The café has an intimate feel and about a dozen tables, so there is usually a wait during peak hours. They also do not take reservations. But the whole experience is definitely worth the wait. Even so, I like to go for an early or late dinner on a weekday so I can be seated immediately. Their sandwiches, salads, and entrees are all delicious, but the Moules Frites with classic white wine sauce is my standby. I will never tire of it! You could justify going to Point Brugge just for their desserts too. My favorite is the flourless chocolate cake, which is made fresh by a local baker. I have only had one bad experience in my countless visits, and it was handled expertly. I had dinner with my sister on a weeknight, and the service was unusually slow. We didn’t even complain, but the manager came over to our table, apologized for the wait, and said our meal was on the house that night. It was one of the best customer service experiences of my life!

I finally made it! After millions of people telling me to try Point Brugge, I finally had off on a Sunday off to enjoy their famous brunch! I must say, the hype is real! The place is small and definitely better suited for more intimate parties(not the party of nine we had). However, the staff was super accommodating and allowed us to push some tables together. These small places are always the best. Good things come in small packages! I got the breakfast special that included waffles topped with strawberries, bacon and mimosa. The price is a steep $ 22, but the food was oh so good! You didn’t even need syrup or anything to sweeten the waffle, it was that good! The bacon was thick cut bacon as well– yum! This is definitely a cute summer spot as they open the windows and have outdoor seating. I would love to come back and try their lunch options.

Last night my sister and I had a perfect experience at Point Brugge. Not only did we score a parking spot across the street, we were seated ahead of a waiting crowd because we were only 2. We shared a fresh salad with a light vinaigrette, and I had a glass of wine. Then came the mussels and frites! Becky and Joe, our servers, took great care of us, and I had another glass of wine. No room for dessert. I guess we’ll have to go back tonight and try again.

Love visiting Point Brugge. I stopped by for the first time after being turned away from E2, and ended up liking the food here even more. The eggs are always cooked perfectly, and the bread pudding we had was amazing! The atmosphere is also nice, well lit and not too noisy. Definitely give it a try.

As a Pittsburgh native now living in San Francisco – which I unabashedly see as the culinary centre of the universe; I can not say enough about Point Brugge! I love this area is tucked away in Point Breeze down a quintessential Pittsburgh cobblestone road, but what I love even more is the mussels and fascinating beer collection. If you think that can not eat 1.5lbs of mussels yourself, try these out. You will handle. The red curry mussels were my favorite, though the white wine were quite amazing, too. This area is awesome. You’ve got to go here!

We loved the café seating in the front that was open to the outside. It would be a nice date place or a place to have a drink on the little patio. We had the lemon pesto linguine with added shrimp, which was wonderful; and The shrimp po boy was good but a bit light on the amazing shrimp. The service was lackluster but adequate. We would go back and I would like to try the mussels next visit; the looked delicious.

I wish i could have gone to this place earlier. Has very decent food(I tried their carbonnade Flamande and it was awesome!) The surroundings are also pretty nice, Melon Park is like 5min away which means you could take a walk in the park after you’ve stuffed yourself with too much food too! The only complaint was that there were way too many people(Cuz it’s popular), so you’ve got to be patient to get your seat :)

I really love this place. It has a very cozy and intimate atmosphere and the food is amazing every time. Just beware that they are always busy and you cannot make reservations, so you often have to wait quite a while to get in.

I love sitting on the patio, watching the bicycles run the stop signs. Casual good consistent food with a flair. Good drink menu; not to huge, but plenty of options. My go to dish is the red curry mussels and a house salad. Never disappointed. My husband likes variety and tries other items. They too are good… I just can’t get passed the mussels.

Surprised I hadn’t written a review for Point Brugges prior to today. They’ve been a staple for my family for a long time, especially their Sunday brunch. It’s quite simple in my case, I stick to the Moules(mussels) with either the white wine cream broth or the red curry broth with a side of frittes. Can’t go wrong with either. He mussels are always throughly cleaned and cooked perfectly and come with a crisp slice of baguette. While I order the mussels a lot at brunch as well, I occasionally go with the waffle with the topping of the day. Croque madam is great, coffee is some of the best in Pittsburgh, and lest I forget their perfectly spicy bloody Mary’s.

Nice ambience. house special was potato pancakes. probably the only thing we did not enjoy on the menu. pretty much everything else was nicely presented and delicious. we had a veggie frittata which came with arugula on the top which was good. grilled cheese with rye bread with just the right amount of cheese. the omelette special with fruits. but the best thing was the waffle with fruits… the best waffles we have ever had. def burley try that. my habanero margarita was amazing. definitely try.

Point Brugge is one of those places that everyone seems to rave about, but it took me forever to get here. My dad and I came here for dinner on a Tuesday night, and we were seated immediatly. The restaurant is very small, and I could see the street parking being a problem at peak times. However, none of this should deter you from going to Point Brugge. My dad and I started off by splitting the Macaroni Gratin($ 9.50) as an appetizer. It was perfect to split as an appetizer. The Parmesan, Gruyère, and cheddar worked well together, and I like the Cavatappi noodles so much better than regular macaroni. This wasn’t one of my favorite macaronis in the city by any stretch, but it did hit the spot. From there, my dad and I decided to go halfsies on the Lamb Burger($ 13) and Point Burger($ 13) as well. Both burgers were really delicious. The lamb burger was topped with arugula, fire roasted tomatoes, feta, and truffle oil. On the other hand, the Point Burger was ground chuck, braised short ribs, horseradish cheddar, arugula, and whole grain aioli. I loved the horseradish cheddar twist, and this was one of my favorite burgers of all time. I would recommend either of these sandwiches. We finished our meal off with a slice of the flourless chocolate cake($ 7). I love flourless cake, and this one did not dissapoint. The chocolate was fairly dark, and the dessert was super rich. I could not have eaten a whole slice by myself, as it was also massive. The atmosphere is cozy, and the wait staff was attentive. We really enjoyed our evening here.

The food was delicious, however charging $ 8.00 for a mimosa that looks like someone already drank ½ of it was annoying.

EXCELLENT food. I ordered the muscles with the red curry sauce the last time I came here, and they were fantastic– not too chewy or gritty and the sauce was exquisitely flavored. Everyone else I was with loved what they ordered too.

Honestly, I made this account specifically to review Point Brugge because it still has left a bad taste in my mouth. I was really excited to try this place because it’s at the top of the list of the best places to eat in Pittsburgh. My boyfriend and I decided on a whim to go one Friday night a couple of weeks ago. It’s located on a cute little corner and it was buzzing with people. We walked in the door and as it was our first time there we weren’t sure where to go. All of the seats near the front seemed to be taken as well(which is expected on a Friday night). We didn’t want to look around for seats because we weren’t sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves. So we waited for around 5 minutes at the door until a waitress walked right past us when we tried to ask her if there was any seats in the back. She made eye contact with us while we tried to talk to her, but she kept walking. I thought it was a bit rude(and I felt uncomfortable) but I just figured she really needed to drop off the check she had in her hand at that moment. However, when she came back inside she walked right past us again not even acknowledging us. We didn’t even make it past the door. I’m not sure I’ll ever try to go back seeing as the way she made us feel like we were as insignificant as possible.

Every time I come to Pittsburgh I have to go to Point Brugge. I love everything about this Café — the food, the service, the ambiance. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu — seriously everything is delicious. I love the small bowl of curry mussels with a side of french fries.

My wife loves mussels and point bruge(and park bruge) is her favorite place in Pittsburgh to get them. For her the small portion is more than enough food and the frites aren’t necessary bc they give you wonderful pieces of warm French bread for dipping. I like mussels but usually not as a dinner if I’m hungry. The low country boil style mussels at point bruge are a game changer however. Generous portions of diced kielbasa, potatoes, carrots and onions mixed in with the mussels. Very delicious. Very filling. We got some kind of pumpkin roll dessert which def wasn’t necessary but looked too good to pass up. Always a good selection of draft and bottled beers as well. We will def make the trip back here often. If we lived closer we d prob be here once a week.

Really cute, neighbourhoody café that serves Moules-frites! Definitely has a casual, Euro vibe to it. Easily the best meal I had during my visit to Pitts! I ordered the Cobb Salad($ 15) with the intention to share it and the waitress kindly split it into 2 separate plates even without me asking. Portion was more than enough for 2ppl. For the mussels, I chose the Red Curry, larger, 1.5lb portion($ 19). Looking back, I think it would’ve been a better idea to scale back on the mussels to 1lb for $ 13 and order a side of fries($ 5). Fries were so, SOGOOD, so I could’ve eaten more of those instead. Mussels themselves were fresh, but on the smaller side, probably the size of a pecan, so I don’t think it makes all that diff whether you get the 1 or 1.5lbs. Definitely to be enjoyed with one of the many beers they serve there. Great food, casual, cozy atmosphere, and prices are very decent for what you get!

Outstanding service, great menu, plus a cozy neighborhood feel. Their signature dish is their mussels, which are delicious. They have an excellent selection of great beers. My only concern is that the dining room is small and sometimes you have a long wait for a table.

I gave this 5 stars because this was the BEST meal out of about 7 meals my parents and I had when we visited Pittsburgh. We came here as we were leaving the state and it definitely wrapped up our visit. This restaurant is in the middle of a residential area, a very quiet one. Parking was easy. When we got there the restaurant was packed but we got lucky because a table had just left as we were coming in. We came here for more of a lunch since we already had breakfast(at The Commoner which was meh), but it was Sunday so they offered brunch selections. I ordered the crab cake benedict and it was about 10 times better than the eggs benedict I got from The Commoner. It was full of flavor, the poached eggs were perfect and the crab cake had a good amount of crab. My mom ordered the mussels in the white sauce. The mussels were TINYTINY so they were eh but the sauce was SOOO good. I wanted to drink it haha. Dipping bread in the sauce was sooo good. My dad got the shrimp and crispy polenta. I didn’t try it but my dad really enjoyed it, especially the sauce. He ended up dipping some mussels into his sauce. We also got fries and they were yummy! They seemed like they were double fried and the sauce, whatever it is, was so addictive. May be a little out of the way but it’s definitely worth it! I recommend trying this place.

Apparently this place is one of the more popular places in Pittsburgh. Went here for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I didn’t expect anybody to be in the restaurant, but actually half of the tables were occupied. Here is the reason: Point Brugge Café is a great spot to relax and have a beer with some great tasting foods. There are 3 – 4 tables outside and about 10 tables inside. You also have the option to sit at the bar. We decided to sit inside, next to the window, and enjoy the view of the outside as sun was lightning up the whole place. It was so bright inside, perfect for a Sunday afternoon. They have a few beers on tap, but had never heard of any of those beers. Their selection is so unique. I tried two of their draft beers, and they were both delightful(I hear they rotate their beers quite often, but if your going there anytime soon get the beer that has the word shoes in it). For food I ordered a pound and a half of mussels with red curry sauce which was priced at $ 19. It came with bread, and freshly made fries. The sauce was amazing, so were the fries and so were the mussels. Definitely one of the best mussels I’ve ever had. Unbelievable, and only for $ 19? You gotta be kidding me. The service was super fast, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The only thing that bummed me a little was their limited beer selection(you expect a lot of good draft beers from a Belgian restaurant.) Anyway, I definitely recommend Point Brugge!

My friend and I were told to come here for the poutine and we were not disappointed! The mussels were sold out so we gave the flatbread pizzas a try and they were delish! Can’t wait to go again. I can see this place fitting into my rotation!

I am only updating my review because I love good servers/bartenders. Ate at Point Brugge tonight and I forced my reluctant boyfriend to sit at the bar(because it was, of course, busy). Which ended up being a GREAT decision because Dana(at least that is what the receipt says) was our bartender and she was ONPOINT. She was multitasking like a mad women, but also so attentive and nice and great at her job. The food and drinks were great as always, but the service tonight was the best I’ve ever had at Point Brugge.

Came here for brunch, and enjoyed the experience. Would give it a 5 but the wait time is incredibly long(45 minutes to an hour) and there is absolutely no room to wait. So unless you want to go for a walk around Point Breeze(which takes 2 minutes, lol) you are crammed in with other hungry brunch guests until your table is finally ready. I ordered a bloody mary, the french toast and a side of potato gratin(part of the prix fixe menu). The french toast was delicious and perfectly cooked. I could have done without the gratin — it was somewhat bland, but the texture was good. My bloody mary was standard. Not good enough to get me to order a second one, but pleasing all the same. In terms of vegetarian brunch options, there are a few, but I definitely recommend that french toast. I haven’t been for dinner, but a quick glance at the menu tells me I have a few options(though not in the«Dinners» section). Can’t fault them too much — it’s not like Belgium is a very vegetarian-friendly place.

I can simply say that I have never had a bad meal here. It’s one of my favorites in Pittsburgh. The mussels with the white wine sauce are divine. The brunch is divine, as are the bloody marys. The crab cakes are tasty, although not the best I’ve ever tasted, but still worth ordering. When I want a nice meal out in Pittsburgh, this is where I go.

The cutest little neighborhood café in Point Breeze. Something I wish the dmv area have! As you walk in there’s no actually waiting area. It’s either sit yourself or someone seats. I couldn’t figure it out because one of the server made us wait and others kind of just went in and sat themselves. They could’ve been friendly about but I guess it’s the«pitts» attitude/culture. Lets talk food. AMAAZING! I had the Eggs Benedict with bacon. The portion is decent and fulfilling. The muffin was chewy, the eggs were poached to perfection and that pesto hollandaise was to die for! The dish came with seasonal fruits, thin slices of pineapple, honeydew and cantaloupe. My boyfriend ordered Sausage & Waffles. The sausage is house made and reminds me of a burger patty. It’s seasoned lightly and a little over cooked. However, the combination for the dish was delicious. The potato hash was my fave. Coffee was freshly brewed for my party and of course I’m the only one who ordered fresh mint lemonade. I recommend not getting it. It’s very diluted. Overall– Totally recommend visiting this little café.

My boyfriend made fun of me for wanting to show up to brunch 20 minutes before Point Brugge opened. Five minutes before opening, like a flash mob, 15 cars pre-parked nearby the establishment opened their doors simultaneously and the line formed for Sunday Brunch behind us. What would follow would be one of the greatest brunch experiences I’ve ever had. We were seated by Dana — I remember her name because she treated our table of 6 like old friends as soon as she met us. She was quick with the mimosas and the jokes, while also recommending her favorites from the menu. Though a little cramped, it was an intimate experience and can easily sit small groups. The menu is almost entirely European-inspired and incredible. We all ordered something different so that we could try each other’s meals — and no one was disappointed. In fact, we all ordered another mimosa and couldn’t stop gushing about our awesome meal. I personally got the Baked Brunch Cassoulet and it raises the bar for what I expect from my brunch. This visit also led me to return on a weeknight to explore the dinner menu. I ordered the Mussels, which confirmed that the chef’s talents don’t just reside in a few dishes but across the menu. Point Brugge is must visit for everyone in Pittsburgh!

My husband & I ate @ Point Brugge Café for the first time last weekend. We had driven by the restaurant & figured we’d give it a try. Love trying new places! I was really impressed, everything we ordered was delicious. I have to say my favorite was the flatbread appetizer. I could of ate the whole thing myself. That flatbread alone will get me to definitely come back to Point Brugge. The macaroni gratin was good, nothing too special. The mustard crusted salmon with risotto & dijon cream sauce was amazing. The salmon was cooked just right & the outside was nice & crispy. The butternut squash gnocchi was good however I feel the gnocchi was a little under cooked. The gnocchi was extremely doughy. I would prefer it be cooked more. Prices are fair for the quality of food you get. Food portions are large. Service was good too. Highly recommend eating @ Point Brugge!

I’ve been here twice already and I definitely enjoyed my first experience over the second. It was a Friday night so they were pretty busy and we ended up getting a table in the back left hand corner of restaurant against the brick wall. Our server was nice taking our order and helping us with the beer list bit after he served us our food he practically disappeared. I ordered the mussels which were only warm when they arrived. I must have had the big plate because it took about 30 minutes just to get all the mussels out of their shells and by that time my broth was cold. I had them reheat it and ate it as a soup with the extra bread. My husband ordered the special which was spare rib but he said it tasted like chuck roast. It wasn’t very flavorful in my opinion. We decided to order dessert, vanilla ice cream and an apple tort. I loved the crust on the apple tort but the filling had way too much cinnamon and wasn’t sweet at all. Maybe they will work on the recipe.
