Lurv this place sooo much! The ice cream is delish and the topping choices are killer. Staff is nice and friendly. Free popcorn and cool nic-knacks

What happened? Smells like cat urine, piles of clothing on tables in back, told they don’t have hot fudge or many toppings(despite a huge chalkboard list), and just seems very very dirty.

Went in to try their ice cream. I did this because I heard one of my friends say that«this place is better then coldstones!» I was shocked by this statement because I tried coldstones yesterday, and their ice cream was amazing. So I wanted to see how this place compares. I walked in to oh yeah to find no one on the front counter. I was morally shocked by this. I waited around 5 minutes for someone to be there, but no one was there. Then as I went to this bench area I found someone dead. I don’t know if he was dead or not, but I think he was the person working here. I was so shocked by this, that I even left. I don’t know what my friend was talking about. At least at coldstones the employees don’t sleep on the job.

Redemption! Craving some dairy-free ice cream, we decided to give this place another shot. The line was long, and super slow, but the girls working were sweet, the ice cream choices were much more clear, and everything was delicious. Like, amazingly delicious. The prices … yeah, they are a little rough, but everything was so good I couldn’t be upset. Tonight my fiancé got vegan vanilla with oreos + strawberry, and I tried vegan chocolate with waffle cone bits + pecans. One scoop was plenty filling and they didn’t go shy on the mix-ins.

Really funky cool coffee shop. I came here for coffee and the barista was SUPER friendly. Gotta love being enthusiastically greeted when you walk in the door. Eclectic club music playing in the background and a mix of stuff on the walls make for a fun vibe. The Pittsburgh Latte is delicious. No clue what’s in it — I think brown sugar, milk, espresso… Not sure what else. One caveat — they charge $ 1 for using your card. They will allow cash back though, so I sorta treated it like an ATM. I’ll remember to just bring cash next time.

The ice cream is good. There is about 5 – 10 flavors of actual ice cream to choose on any given day. I was at first confused by all of the«mix ins» and was scared to try it so I just got the regular scoop of Irish cream and Birthday cake. Irish cream was good but I have had better BDAY cake ice cream so I don’t really recommend it. The atmosphere here is cool and creative though. I would come back if I want ice cream and am in the area but wouldn’t go out of my way.

Let’s start with the atmosphere it’s super cool and there is so much to see. So much that it being my first time there I was confused and overwhelmed. I manage a café so coffee is kind of my expertise … Ice cream is another favorite of mine and their mix ins are over the top with choices. 3 of us went. My partner got an affagato(which we normally love almost anywhere) and she couldn’t finish it because the espresso was too bitter. Could be her tastebuds but, none the less this was her complaint. I tried the soy coffee ice cream and it was like a jelly consistency that I didn’t think I could stomach so against my better judgement I went with birthday cake ice cream(no mix ins) no complaints other than ice cream kills my stomach. My son got vanilla ice cream with Reese’s cups(keeping it simple) he got a whole scoop and when it came out of the mixer it was barely half a cup. This led to disappointment when I went to pay and gasped at $ 16 bill for 3 tiny items. They are way over priced even if they are in shady side. Another downfall is that if you pay with a credit card they charge you an extra $ 1 to the already out of this world prices. Would I go back? Probably not I’m glad I saw the store and their cool décor but, for the lack of being impressed it’s a no go. On the plus side the two girls who were working were very kind and helpful but the service was insanely slow. 3 people ahead of us and we waited nearly 20 minutes for sheer disapointment.

I really did want to like this place. It’s trendy and made me feel cool(a lil bit) when I walked in. Who wouldn’t want to like a place that has a mirrored bathroom door that you can see out but can’t see in? I didn’t have to utilize the facilities but I should’ve at least gone in to see what the hype was all about. Sigh. Okay…so I’m not one to usually complain about price points because I understand fully that you get what you pay for. But…$ 4 for a scoop of ice cream that had frost on it. Um, no. Just no. You can do better. Although the girls who work there are so very sweet, I won’t be back. Dave and Andy’s is so much better, not that far away and is a much better deal.

It’s a cool concept for an ice cream shop but it really is run poorly. Offering a large variety of flavors doesn’t mean anything if half of the flavors are not available at any given time. High hopes. Much disappointment. Missing flavors, flies, and $ 1 charge on all credit cards.

Oh Yeah Ice Cream has been my favorite ice cream/desert place for such a long time. However it went through a slump for a couple years where I really was not pleased with them. I started going to Oh Yeah many years ago shortly after they opened. When I discovered them I thought I was in heaven. Organic dairy & non dairy ice cream, about 100 different topping/“mix ins” options, organic homemade waffle cones & organic homemade waffles with ice cream on top, all reasonably priced. Who would not love this place!!! I’ve eatin there more times than I want to admit. :) I’ve had just about every flavor of dairy & non dairy ice cream @ Oh Yeah and you really can’t go wrong with any flavor. I can’t really say that I have one particular favorite. Go crazy with trying so many different mix ins. Love combining them & doing something different every time I go. However a few years ago something happened, the owner wasn’t there anymore and it just went downhill fast to the point where I would hardly ever go anymore. It was sad to see such an awesome place go to waste. Not sure what the whole story was or the inside politics but now they are under new owners or management & it’s gotten a lot better. Not quite up to par with how it used to be but good enough that I go back now. Also an extra bonus is that Oh Yeah is dog friendly. You can bring your dog into the restaurant with you. This is a huge plus for me. My dogs go everywhere with me & I love being able to bring them with me & sit outside at the picnic tables & eat our ice cream. Wish more places were this laid back. They also sell organic dog biscuits, which my dogs love of course. So if you haven’t tried Oh Yeah by now you’re definitely missing out. Get yourself over there ASAP& you’ll be hooked for life! :)

Set slightly back from the street, you could easily walk past Oh Yeah! and it’s large spoon door handles without paying it much attention if not for the aroma of freshly baked waffles. Once you’ve stepped inside of the intimate little shop, abuzz with an eclectic collection of vintage wall art, musical ambiance and local papers, you know this isn’t Dairy Queen. Oh Yeah! uses hard ice cream to create blizzard-like creations with a combination of standard toppings as well as less obvious choices, like bee pollen, goat cheese and my favorite: coffee grinds. Suggested menu items: Nutella latte, Betty Crocker’s Nightmare and Golden Girls Note: While they DO take cards, they are going to charge you $ 1 for using it. Bring cash.

I like this place at the beginning of my moving in Pittsburgh. I am not resistible to vintage style low key café. Today I dropped by here and fell in love with its great taste. The collaboration of irish gelato and hot latte was fantastic. I really enjoyed seats in the terrace, casual atmosphere, romantic ornaments and old pop music! However, as most vintage places, this place is not sanitized well I think but still it’s not enough to cover up all of the good things here.

You’ve gotta give credit to this sweet little crunchy hipster/hippie holdout in a rapidly gentrifying area. It’s sort of amazing that they still exist in the same neighborhood as Noodlehead, Mad Mex and Whole Foods. The jarring location aside, they always stock a variety of local ice creams, along with an impressive selection of vegan-friendly soy and gluten free options. I tried the peach soy cream(not my favorite), the hazelnut ice cream(fantastic), the coffee ice cream(with malt powder mixed in) and the affogato with cinnamon ice cream(my hands down all-time favorite thing they make). They offer mix-ins that rival any selection I’ve seen anywhere(including things like habaneros, malt powder, cinnamon, cereals, candy, matcha powder… and nearly anything else you can imagine). Their hipster cred is apparent, and at times a bit grating, as there is often the feeling of haughtiness in the air. One time I had to wait fifteen minutes to be served, though there was no one else in the store. I have also had great, prompt service there, so perhaps their employees are just uneven. Recently my experiences have been much better, so perhaps things are improving. Speaking of hipster/hippie cred, they also sell records and offer a library of antique books. One significant complaint — the bathroom. For some unknown reason, they have floor-to-ceiling one-way glass on the door to the bathroom. It’s mildly funny the first time, but really just kind of horrifying for anyone but the truest of exhibitionists. Overall impression: I’d recommend the place if you’re in the area looking for coffee or ice cream in a wacky setting. Just go elsewhere to use a bathroom.

I am a frequenter of ice cream, and just moved to the Pittsburgh area, so I needed to find«my go to.» And I think I just did. At first, the place seemed a little hard to find, despite the sign out front, because at first glance, it looked more like an antique shop of some sort. We decided that that was the place, so I walked in to find a counter of a few flavors, thinking okay, okay, not what I wanted, but it’s ice cream. BUTTHEN, The lady told me about their«mix-ins,» which is this GIGANTIC chalk board of THEBEST, and sometimes the strangest, toppings from Reese’s peanut butter cups to bee pollen, yes, bee pollen, to go in those basic flavors that I thought were all they offered. The combinations are just endless! And for you health nuts, who happen to somehow be eating ice cream? They also offer soy-based ice cream to mix with that bee pollen. I got the chocolate dairy-based ice cream with Kit-Kat, cookie-dough, and chocolate syrup mix-ins. And I quickly realized why they named this place Oh! Yeah! It was amazing. For me, I like my ice cream on the melty, almost as if you microwaved it side, and that’s exactly what it was! Comparable to a Wendy’s Frosty, but better. And aside from the food, the décor is SO unique and complex — there are seats on the floor & a deer with sunglasses — which is exactly the kind of place I want to be buying my ice cream. And as far as customer service, the woman was veryyy nice & willing to explain the whole process to me. The ONLY reason I did not give this place five stars is because I still have so much to experience before it can qualify for full on five star power. Definitely recommend for any fellow sweet toothers!

This is right by my internship and I’m glad it is. I first discovered this place a couple years ago when my sister attended CMU. We had waffles and ice cream one of the best combinations invented. They also just brought waffles back, they vegan ones as well, so luckily I hadn’t come back until I started going to PITT this year. They have friendly service and a fun and relaxed atmosphere. I like the coffee and they have soy and almond milk too, and it doesn’t cost extra get. Too make it a vegan trifecta, they also have soy ice cream. All of the ice creams can be mixed with a bunch of different toppings such as, fruit or candy. I can’t wait to come back for my next waffle or cup of coffee!

I’m here on a 13 degree January day. Crazy? Oh Yeah! This place is just amazing. From coffee to waffles to their mix-ins galore. There is so much to take in and order! Every time I come in I find something new to stare at on the wall or counter. I always say I will get a different type of ice cream, but I don’t. I get chocolate with two mix-ins and I’ve never been disappointed. I just love the staff too! Man, they’re just so friendly and excited about ice cream! What I think is cool is they have a few things listed on the big board for charity. I won’t spoil it for you because I want you to be confused and surprised for yourself when you order. If you don’t know what to get when you come in then I recommend asking one of the cool employees and they’ll help you out. I’ve always been happy when taking their advice. This place is a must!!!

My review is purely based on the service and the coffee. The guy working the counter was kinda rude, and the house coffee was incredibly week. They also charge a dollar to use a credit card, which seemed ridiculous to me. I am going to go back and try out the ice cream flavors, since those looked creative and amazingly tasty, but otherwise, as a coffee shop I was not impressed. There was also a lack of comfy seating.

Went here for some ice cream after I heard about all of the crazy mix ins! My choice was the butter nut ice cream with balsamic vinegar, goat cheese, and figs. My husband likes to call this salad ice cream because it includes some of my favorite salad mix ins. Though it sounds like it might not be a great combination, it really is if you are not into super sweet candy ice cream. I was really impressed with the selection and the ice cream and can’t wait to come back and try more combinations!

I just stopped in here with a friend. He wanted some coffee, and I wanted some ice cream, so this place fit the bill. Sure, Jitters on Walnut is a bit closer, but their ice cream is boring compared to the ice cream served here! I have to agree with Rachel C. that this is the most creative ice cream shop I’ve found in PGH to date. Like many people coming in for the first time, I was a bit dazed and confused by the array of add-ins available, which included«love,» «magic,» and«squirrel meat»(?!?). However, the Lucky Charms caught my eye, since I’d always secretly wanted to come up with a frozen concoction that incorporates kids’ cereal. Looking at the ice cream flavors, I decided that birthday cake would make a good base, since I love D&A’s b-day cake ice cream. My final concoction turned out being b-day cake ice cream with Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Oreos, chocolate chips, and marshmallows on top. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but it it was delicious – not to mention way more creative than something I would have come up with at Cold Stone! Even though it looked fairly smooth after being run through the mixing machine, there were still enough chunks to taste the candied and marshmallowy deliciousness, and the overall flavor was just awesome! My friend kept it simple, and just ordered a bottomless house coffee, which you can get for $ 3. Since the total was $ 7.25, this means that the ice cream(which consisted of about two scoops) cost $ 4.25. Size-wise, it may have been a bit smaller than a small at Cold Stone, but they let you have unlimited mix-ins, which isn’t the case there. The girl who waited on us was funny, and even said she’d do a dance if we asked for it(I didn’t make her, though). She did forget to put the marshmallows on top, which I realized after I’d sat down and took a bite, but I went back in and reminded her, and she put them on with no complaints(except for asking her coworker accusingly if he’d put the marshmallows back!). As I mentioned, this is my first time stopping in here, but if the quality and/or service have gone downhill, I certainly can’t tell. They have a customer loyalty punch card, so be sure to pick one of these up if you stop in here often!

Really damn good Sometimes you want really good ice cream. Sometimes you can’t eat dairy or have friend who can’t eat dairy. Fret not friends, Oh Yeah has you covered. The birthday cake ice cream gave my mouth a mouthgasm. Go there now. Edit: Just recently found out that Oh Yeah has closed. This is a sad day. Pour one out, real talk.
