I love LLBean. Their products can’t be beat! They are made to last. I love their sweaters. So warm and cozy. They have a terrific selection at this store which is good for me. The customer service is fabulous and they do mean it when they say 100% satisfaction or you can return it no matter what. Bought a pair of hiking boots wore them without issue for a few hikes and then they tore up my feet. I called and there was a no hassle return. They are amazing! I may not buy their boots again but I love all of their clothes and the puppy likes their toys:)

This is the largest L.L.Bean that I have ever visited. I didn’t notice that there was a 2nd story until about an hour into browsing the store. And the nice thing about it is that they sell some stuff that’s not available online, like a bean boot keychain. They also have superfeet insoles for you to try on so you can find the right fit. The people working in the store are really knowledgeable about the fit of their shoes, product maintenance, etc. and are really happy to help. In front of the store, there’s a giant bean boot statue, and a giant LLbean backpack that you can pose and take photos with. This was the most fun I have ever had in a camping goods store.

Variety of outdoor goods is pretty good. I wanted books on kayaking, hiking, and biking but what books I found were in a less than prominent section and didn’t include most of what I wanted. I’ve seen better selections at other sports stores. I’ve gone to 3 free talks/classes held inside at this venue. Depending on what you’re looking for, they may be adequate enough. For myself, the drive didn’t seem quite worth the information I received. I’d like for the classes to be more organized and one particular class didn’t even stay on topic for the title of the class. I don’t think I expect too much; I’ve attended similar free events at other sports stores. One more note — why would you hold a class that ends at store closing time? I’m there. Wouldn’t you want to give me a bit of time after class to shop since I’m there?

I purchased a jacket about a month ago but the zipper was stiff. I wore it tonight but when putting it on the zipper stuck. I went to LL Bean and the salesman got it open but a tooth in the zipper broke. He said it wasn’t a problem, they would send me a new jacket. So I was prepared to wear the jacket I couldn’t zip and wait for the new one. However, when he asked the manager to approve the exchange the manager said unless I took another jacket from the store and returned the one I was wearing, I would have to pay for the new jacket to be sent to me. WHAT! My choices were to leave with the broken jacket and not get a new one, return the jacket and get my money back or take what they gave me. I returned the jacket and left, not easy since it is 25 degrees out and I am 71. I think that the manager didn’t want to deal with an older customer because the salesman certainly said the store would send me a new one. I WILLNEVERSHOPINLLBEANAGAINANDADVISEANYONETOBEVERYCAREFULINTHEIRDEALINGSWITHTHESTORE. It would seem they pick and choose who they will back their products with. Corporate headquarters got in touch with me and offered apologies for what happened and said they will send a new jacket. Stay tuned. Maybe it was just a bad management decision by someone who was in a bad mood. Will post later on the situation. LL Bean did exactly what their customer service representative KW said they would do — they sent me a new coat FREE! I was wrong to judge the company on the acts of one nasty manager and highly recommend this corporation. They went over and beyond to fix what happened. Thank you LL Bean.
