I used to go to someone at another shop who moved back to his native country and so I asked a heavily tattooed friend of mine where she went. She suggested here and said to go to her usual guy. We get there and I try to inquire about the tattoo I wanted and was handed to the owner instead of her usual guy. My grand parents had both recently died and I had a quote that I wanted. He opened up InDesign and typed it up in a generic cursive. I asked if he had a font book that I could go through and he said no. I knew I wanted the lettering to be more unique in style and was trying to find out what other fonts there were and he was really uncooperative and uninterested in working with me on this. Finally, I went onto my phone and found one I liked that he had in his program. He made me write the quote and sign off on spelling in the release. Then he typed it up and put it on my arm. Because of where it is and the position I was in, I couldn’t see it. I would have noticed that he had a spelling error in it. I know I spelled it correctly because I have my copy of the forms. He did my tattoo in no time, wrapped it, and sent me on my way with a mysterious discount. He wouldn’t let my friend take any photos and I suspect both that and the discount were because of the spelling error. I didn’t bother complaining because they can’t fix it. I can, however, share my experience. It wasn’t great and I wouldn’t recommend this shop. I took my business to Travis at Rogue in Lawrenceville.

I went to get a very meaningful tattoo with my best friend of 20 years. We wanted to get two stick figures holding cans talking to each other that connected when we were together. What should have been an extremely meaningful moment was turned into lesson learned for the both of us. The owner suggested we get them done by him and another artist named Danny who was SERIOUSLYAWESOME! I only gave this review 2 stars because of him. My friend didn’t have that in mind, but I thought it might be cool as we could watch each other get them done and our designs would each be unique. We should have followed her instincts here and insisted Danny do both… The owner, Mike, did my best friends. Instead of sketching the tattoo that she came there to get, he decided to sketch something for her that she had mentioned she wants to get in the future. So instead of doing the tattoo she came there to get, he started doing something completely different. He eventually got to sketching the tattoo she came in for and after what seemed like many reviews and re-do’s of the sketch since he wasn’t listening to her and what she wanted, the tattooing began. When it was all done, he didn’t even give her an opportunity to look at it, take pictures with me, or review the work. He just began wrapping it up and getting us out the door. When we leave, she tells me that he completely messed up her tattoo by attaching the can to her mouth. There’s a little line between the can and her mouth where there should be nothing. It was such a rookie mistake that it makes me wonder if it was done purposely since she didn’t want to do the more expensive piece he sketched for her. Not to mention he was talking about how expensive his art is because he’s the best at what he does. This was a huge deal for us and I felt like Mike ruined it by doing that to her tattoo. He wasn’t focused on my friend and wasn’t trying to give her the best experience she could possibly have like Danny was doing for me. He was also yelling at his employees and talking business while he was doing her tattoo. It just was a really terrible experience for her and I recommend that you go ANYWHERE else on Carson St. Lesson Learned… Always follow your instincts and make sure you express your feelings to the person that is putting something on your body that you will have for the rest of your life… Also, read the reviews before you go… it will help you out in the end!

Very disappointed. Wish I would have read the reviews before allowing the owner to do my tattoo. I’ll never go back. Which is a shame since that was my second time there since the first experience was a good one.

I brought my cousin here to get her first tattoo and the owner or the older guy that tattooed her was so rude to her and belittled the tattoo she was getting she left there so pissed off. The guy that tattooed me did a good job. It seems like you are gambling to get a good person if you go here. I wouldn’t go back or recommend it to anyone.

I will never step foot in this establishment again. The owner is crass, rude, and impersonable. First of all, his first greeting to me was to tell me about the«psycho bitch» that screwed up his Unilocal rating! I wouldn’t call that professional by any means. Next he went on about his views on gay marriage, Donald Trump, immigration, etc. He also made it a point to say that male on male sex was«f*****g disgusting.» I am a young gay male whom begrudges no one, but for me to walk into his place of business and have him spew his absurd views with me was quite brash and hurtful. I wasn’t waving a rainbow flag, nor was I advocating liberal views, or anything– I just wanted a tattoo! We are all entitled to our views, but to bestow them upon a customer you know nothing about is just unimaginable and truly a nightmare. Also, I brought my friend who not only patronized his business, but was the one whom got me to go there. Between the two of us, we spent $ 180 within 25 minutes. He had the nerve to complain to me that she was annoying and a psycho because she«talked too much.» I held my tongue because I’m not about to be subjected to anything on a more personal level. Truly– I can’t recommend this establishment to anyone with a clear conscience. I would suggest going elsewhere unless you’re prepared to be verbally trampled.

Had the perfect experience! My friend and I came in to get impromptu tattoos. My friend had Julie as an artist, and I was lucky to have the owner do a piece on my foot for me! He took my idea, worked his magic, and gave me a great tattoo. The owner may have his own opinions, but he is no way a homophobe or misogynist. He was extremely open to talking about my liberal beliefs, my theatre major in school and the job I have in Pitt for the summer. We all had a great talk, and he even showed us a video of a heavy metal singer doing opera. We had a great time, and if I want another tattoo while in town, I will be returning.

Not bad. I’ve gotten 2 tattoos here, I love both. The environment is very ‘drugs & rock n roll’ ish. It’s not the most sterile environment, but the techs are very nice & helpful.

Don’t even try to go here. Called the day before and was told to just come in for the tattoo I wanted. Went in and stood there for 20 min. Without someone even talking to me. Ill take my business else where. Holly
