Fix-it-Frank

Based on positive reviews, we contacted Frank for a handful of projects at our home. During his initial visit to assess the scope of work, Frank was engaged and receptive to most of the work, and candid about parts of our work that were beyond his interests, such as tile work in a bathroom remodel. However, to our frustration Frank has since then failed to provide an estimate as promised, failed to reply to e-​mails and failed to respond to voicemail messages for more than a month since his initial visit. It seems inconsistent with other reviews, but we are not going to chase someone to try to give them work. Frank has shown a total lack of follow-​up and not lived up to his commitments.

Frank is very reliable.
He put a dishwasher in my kitchen were there wasn’t one before. He did electrical, plumbing, replaced the kitchen faucet, minor carpentry; great job. He even came back to make some minor changes I asked him to do.
We will definitely call him back.

Frank has helped us with replacing bathroom fixtures, plumbing, and redoing closets. He is a true professional, knowledgeable, and I would recommend Frank to any house hold work or upgrades

Frank is absolutely fantastic. He is friendly, courteous, prompt, extremely capable, and always has a positive attitude. I hired him for multiple jobs this past summer in the new home I had purchased, and I don’t know what I would have done without him. One thing that I very much appreciated was his willingness to let me learn from him — for example, I wanted to install some new trim by myself but needed some help getting started. Frank came over and showed me how to do it, but then once I got the hang of it, he was completely willing to allow me to finish the job on my own so that I could save some money, and he even let me borrow a couple of his tools for the weekend! On top of it all, you can reach him via email and he accepts electronic payments i.e. he lives in the 21^st century! In short, I cannot recommend Frank highly enough. I would give him 10 stars if possible.

Found Frank on Unilocal,was looking for a handyman for my father in Pittsburgh. I live in San Diego CA, and needed to help my father since I couldn’t fly back to fix a leak in the washing machine area. Frank spoke with me and within hours he was at my fathers house. I explained to Frank I don’t live with my dad but I needed his help to check out a couple things since my father is elderly and couldn’t do it himself. Frank ended up fixing the leak in my fathers basement and made the payment accessible thru Paypal. My dad is happy now he can wash clothes… thanks again Frank.

Frank does good work at a reasonable hourly rate. He shows up on time when he’s supposed to and is upfront about the cost of the job. That’s all you can ask for. I’ve tried other handymen, such as Senior Craftsmen, and they were all losers. I am just concerned that once other people find out about him, I’ll have to book him months in advance.

Frank has done electrical & carpentry repairs in my kitchen & replaced parts not readily available efficiently & neatly also in a timely manner at reasonable price.
Frank is also conscientious!

Frank has done a number of jobs for us. Outstanding results! He fixed a problem area in our garden with lovely lattice work. It was done efficiently and within budget. He has fixed numerous things in our house — mechanical, electrical, etc. Frank is now my go-​to fix-​it person!!! And, extremely nice to work with!

Frank helped design and build an amazing industrial-​style walk-​in closet for me. All I did was show him the original blog post that inspired me, and then we talked through what kinds of hanging bars/​shelves/​etc I wanted. I drew a quick sketch, but then he went in and figured out all the complicated math/​engineering that comes with building a walk-​in closet out of industrial piping. The best part was that he let me do some of the work on my own to keep costs low. I bought the materials based on a list he prepared, then cleaned and spray painted the pipes myself, and he did the rest! Great handyman, a problem-​solver, and a creative eye to boot!
