I loved the service until I was forced to vacate my home(which I had a 2 years lease, hence my 2 year contract with them) and they said it’d be $ 260+ to cancel and they didn’t care whatsoever that I was once a happy customer and begged them to try and help as I wanted to use in the future. Suspending accounts does nothing, you still have to pay full cancelation after the fact. They now say I owe money from previous months which makes NO sense as I had this on a bundle with Verizon which made automatic payments and I never missed one. Totally awful and just trying to steal a dollar when they can. I loved my service, but after how poorly they handle communication and customer service I will now make sure everyone I know never uses them.

On the positive side the picture quality is good and they have a diverse selection of channels. The negatives far outweigh the positives. First, I decided that I don’t really watch TV all that much and now I’m saddled with a $ 220 «Early Cancellation Fee» for cancelling after 13 months. If I said how upset I am with this fee this review would not pass this website’s guidelines. So add your own colorful language to this paragraph. Second, they paired me with Hughes satellite for my internet and the Hughes service is awful. The cost is sky high and just two Netflix movies will use up your 10GB monthly allocation. If I leave Hughes I’ll get another hefty cancellation fee(even after 13 months) so I’m «between a rock and a hard place»(substitute more colorful language. Third, and this isn’t too bad,… if there is a thunderstorm then bye bye TV and bye bye Hughes. Depending on how moody the internet is, you might need to go and reset the whole system to get it working again. The only way that Directv and Hughes hand onto their subscribers is with that hefty cancellation fee. Sign up for these two services and you’ll have to take what you get for two years.
