We need to talk about Chicken Latino. A friend recommended it to me when I first moved to the city. I got ¼ chicken and rice and I thought«wow, this is actually really good.» Then I started getting their quesadillas. These things are HUGE and taste AMAZING! One day, I was really in the mood for some chicken and fries, so I ordered their chicken sandwich, not really expecting much. Boy, was I wrong! Even that was amazing! The staff here is also super friendly. They have never been anything short of kind and welcoming, even when they’re slow during the day. I recommend Chicken Latino all the time to people visiting the Strip District. Come to think of it, it’s been a while since I’ve been there. I need to make a trip soon!

* The chicken, rice and beans were great 8⁄10 would fux with those again. * Green sauce was super tasty and pretty spicy 9⁄10. * DONOT get the ceviche. It is terrible. I know you’re not supposed to expect great seafood in Pittsburgh, but the ceviche at Ceviche downtown is amazing. Should have trusted my instincts and gotten the slow roasted pork instead.

Got the ¼ chicken and rice and beans. Chicken and rice have a great flavor. Green sauce is feet in the beans. Caution the sauce is really hot. Will be a regular spot for me.

Peruvian«Pollo a La Brasa» chicken is Ok, not great. The lack some basic add-ons like the Peruvian yellow pepper hot sauce. Service was good. If you expect great Peruvian flavor this might not be the perfect match. Mondays to Fridays the chicken is the only Peruvian option. On weekends the have«lomo saltado» but I couldn’t try it today. In all it’s OK, but if you are Peruvian, it“s not going to be great.

Such a wonderful restaurant if you want a larger meal for lunch or dinner. The food is really flavorful, and is a nice mix between American and Peruvian style. My favorites are the huge chicken quesadilla, and the massive chicken salad. Though«salad» is a rough description of this behemoth. Tons of chicken and steak fries on top of it, and then a mountain of cheese. Simply wonderful. And the green chili sauce makes everything better, and can clear out your sinuses.

The Peruvian rotisserie chicken is delicious; their other items are ok but the chicken is the stand out dish, nicely seasoned and moist.

Nice little Peruvian spot. Chicken is moist and pretty tasty, especially if you use the green chili hot sauce. The fries were pretty standard and crisp, just add salt and they are pretty good. I thought the prices were very good. Sorry I didn’t see the plantains on the menu until after I was finished, they looked pretty good.

I wasn’t too amused with the chicken plate. It wasn’t anything special. It would have been incredibly bland if it wasn’t for their green sauce. Green sauce saves all! Oh and the cole slaw definitely didn’t seem fresh. But the fries. Goodness, let me talk about them fries! It was so delicious! It was made hot to order. I’m usually not to fond of thick cut fries, but these fries were fried perfectly so that there was a nice crunch throughout each bite! If you’re at Chicken Latino– get the Lomo Saltado! The seasoning was quite different from the one I’m used to– but they embraced the dish and made it work. The same awesome fries were used for the lomo saltado as well!

This little restaurant might be a bit hard to discover, but after you have experienced their quality, you’ll question how you ever lived without it! They have by faaaaaar, the best chicken quesadillas in western PA. If you catch them at just the right time, they also have a BBQ beef brisket quesadilla that is more addictive than most narcotics… Seriously. Treat yourself…

I have been to this place since day one 8 years ago! I no longer live in town, but every time I come home the food is just as authentic, consistent and delicious as the million times before! I used to eat here regularly for 4 years straight. I had lunch here yesterday and fell back in love with all of my favorites like the sweet fried plantains, tres leche cake, rice pudding, their moist flavor packed rotisserie chicken and the absolute BESTCHICKENQUESADILLA you will ever have in your life!!! This quesadilla is at least an inch thick with large portions of moist rotisserie chicken, cheese, rice and beans. The heartiest quesadilla you will every have in your life! I live next to Mexico and I can’t even get them this good! If you’re in the area and craving some good homemade food, look no further! Must eat here!

I have been here twice now, once with a group and once with my family. It was definitely better the second time. The chicken was so juicy and almost falling off the bone. The yuca fries are always good(although don’t reheat well) and the tres leches cake was delicious. It might not be the fanciest place but it offers good food at great prices. P. S. Don’t forget to try the inca kola!

I came here with my husband and brother for dinner and we thought this place was just OKAY. Nothing to write home about. I had a burrito bowl that was heavy with rice and beans. It was alright but I couldn’t finish it and didn’t want to take it home. It wasn’t bomb enough for me. My husband said his quesadilla taste plain but tasted much better once he added the sour cream. Customer service was good but I wouldn’t come here again.

Hands down, one of my favorite places in Pittsburgh. Chicken Latino is cheap and delicious. I love it. The first trip here I ordered a chicken burrito. The chicken is excellent, and the burrito was packed with rice and beans. It was absolutely massive as well, and I think it was $ 5. I was a bit disappointed to find out that they charge $.50 each for red salsa and sour cream but don’t tell you that. Nonetheless, this burrito is sensational. But the 5 star point at Chicken Latino is the green sauce. It is mouth-watering, spicy, amazingness in a cup. I have serious cravings for this stuff, and it is the absolute best thing in the world. If you are on a budget and in the Strip, this is the place to go!

Food was delicious. The chicken was great and we loved the friend plantains. The green chili sauce they serve with the chicken is spicy but good. It’s fairly friendly on the pocketbook as well. We were able to spilt an appetizer and ¼ of chicken entrée and it was just the right amount to fill us up and we didn’t have to carry around a leftovers container around the strip district

Definitely coming here again and trying different things on their menu. Their Tres Leches is exactly what everyone on Unilocal claimed to be– freakndelicious!

Hum, 95 reviews… what more can I add? I’d just like to concur with the current 4 star rating. I was quite satisfied with my lunch here today. I had the quarter chicken meal and the chicken was very moist, the rub gave it a unique but not over powering flavor and the«green sauce» gives it a great kick. The brown rice was plentiful and it combined nicely with the black beans. Lunch of this quality for only $ 7.45 is a bargain!

Went here on a cold, wet night in January and we all found solace in their shop of chicken. My friends both got the ½ chicken with a side of fries and coleslaw and finished them both. They also got a side of sweet plantains while I got the ¼ chicken with a side of fried yucas. I actually thought the chicken was alright, slightly better than the giant eagle rotisserie chicken. I agree with prior customers, the green chili sauce made it worth the while. I actually thought their fries were better than the fried yuca. It was more dense and chewy than it’s counterpart and lacked in flavor. The fried plantains were amazing and I would definitely recommend getting them! The price was insanely cheap and so we left happy and significantly bloated.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive, tasty lunch in the Strip at a sit down restaurant, give Chicken Latino a try! I came here for lunch today with a friend, and we ordered the half Peruvian rotisserie chicken, yucca fries, and fried plantains, which was more than enough for the two of us. I also had a bottle of Inca Cola, which I hadn’t had since studying abroad in Quito in 2006. We enjoyed the chicken, which I found tender and well-seasoned, particularly on the skin, particularly with the green sauce, which we mixed with mayo to cut the spiciness. The yucca fries were also great with the sauce. I wasn’t as much of a fan of the plantains(too sweet), but this is probably an idiosyncratic matter, since I don’t really care for bananas much. All this food set us back about $ 20, which is pretty inexpensive for a sit down meal, though there is cheaper street food to be had nearby. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, helping us make decisions by making suggestions. I also enjoyed the wall hangings, which reminded me of the textiles available at indigenous markets in Ecuador. One suggestion for improvement would be to have mayo available in squeeze bottles, similar to the green sauce, since tearing open packets is a pain and creates unnecessary waste. Other than that, nice job and thanks for an enjoyable lunch!

The two best things here are the chicken and the hot green sauce! Try them in any combination with the various dishes. Personally I enjoy the soft chicken burrito, and the breakfast burrito which is definitely the best I’ve had in Pittsburgh. It comes with eggs, cheese, green peppers, and optionally chicken, which I highly recommend adding. The green sauce is so hot it will make your tongue sweat, but it’s awesome. Try at least a little. I also enjoy the quesadillas, and if you’re feeling adventurous, try the Chica Morada drink which is made from purple corn. The atmosphere is super casual, and there are TVs so it may be a little noisy.
