A great place to drive to on a weekend and enjoy a costal menu. A wonderful view of the water and they make seasonal beers also. The muscles were great as was the cream of crab soup. And you could actually taste the meat in the soup. The seared tuna salad came out in a Cobb style and was really good.

We went to the Ruddy Duck from our boat, cruising around the Potomac. The food was fantastic, view gorgeous, and service excellent. We spit the seafood platter. The crab cakes were delicious and had some lump meat. The shrimp were fried in a light and tasty batter, the fried cod was fantastic, and the oysters were fried in a cornbread coating, which made it different from the other food. Sometimes when you order fried platters at restaurants, everything is fried the same, but they did a great job making each thing unique and very delicious. I would happily go back and enjoy some of their other menu items. Great place!

We had a fantastic Mothers Day brunch(last brunch of season). Great food and service. Awesome Old Bay Bloody Mary’s! Great scenic venue with lots of elbow room.

The setting here is absolutely beautiful. our service was very good. but I thought the food was mediocre at best. I had a tuna salad with seared tuna on top. it did not seem like it was fresh cut to me or fresh made and probably SAT around for a while. the restaurant was fairly expensive so this is not what I would have expected. I will say there was a lot of people there that looked like they were enjoying their food. but we found other restaurants, maybe not the view, definitely funkier, but with far superior food.

It’s a lil expensive but worth every penny. The muscles were my favorite. But everything else tastes amazing. When I’m in school nearby, I always make a few trips there. The atmosphere in the evening time is a party zone with live real band entertainment(weekends only)

This place is a real gem! We stayed at the hotel next door when we brought our son down to tour St. Mary’s College. The hotel staff recommended it and we were not disappointed. First of all the views are magnificent. We were given a table by the window, but you can see the seascape from anywhere in the dining room. I would come for the view alone. We ate there on dollar oyster night, so we started with two dozen oysters on the half shell. They were the largest ones I have had many years. They have a selection of micro-brews and I had an IPA that was really good. All of us enjoyed our dinners. I had the Alaskan King Crab legs, and a wonderful cobbler for dessert. It made our trip seem more like the start of a vacation than a college scouting trip. The highlight for me was the service. Our waitress was wonderful. She constantly checked on us and the manager came to the table several times to assist her. What impressed me the most, however, happened after I left. I accidentally left my sunglasses on the table. I didn’t realize that they were missing until two days later. I called the restaurant after I got home and discovered that they still had them. The manager mailed them back to me and refused to accept any money for the postage or her trouble. What wonderful service! I do believe that my son is going to choose St. Mary’s College and I look forward to eating there again in the near future!

Excellent view from all sides, a fair amount of brunch options accompanied by live music which was nice on the ears and not too loud. Fresh shucked local oysters and omelet options were a real treat. I think the hostess forgot her pants though and has a misconception of what appropriate work attire is. Kids these days!

We love Ruddy Duck! So happy to have one closer to my house(though I do wish the menus shared a few more of my favorite meals). The beers are seasonal except for a few yummy staples and the views across the creek are perfectly Southern Maryland. There is a nice deck that you can sit out, enjoy a pint and soak up the gorgeous surroundings. My favorites here are the duckadilla and the fish tacos. SOGOOD!

Nice dinner last night. Beautiful view. Dining room was loud with lots of famiilies and the tables were not crammed together. Food — crab dip was good with plenty of pita triangles. Crab cake was the best thing we tried. Almost as good as my fathers. Lots of crab piled high with just enough holding it mostly together. No excess breading or filler. And no shells truly magnificent. Clam stops had good flavor but some in serving had too much breading. Coleslaw was abundant and fresh. Caesar salad was lame with lots of powdered parmesan cheese on top(really, how tough is it to have a decent dressing with at least shredded parmesan cheese.) We shared the Bailey’s ice cream pie and it was worth the calories. We will return.

Omg. What a view. First time to the Maryland shore. Wow what a view! It is. Wonderful spot on the Chesapeake. The sunset is across the road and well worth the trek across. The sunsets in This neck of the woods are incredible. They last and last. Out here they have the local oyster. These are large but are particularly tasty with a little but of picante sauce. The food was decent. We had a fish and it was well prepared. And the staff was friendly. But go for the view!

This place still has some kinks to resolve. The view is incredible, the beer is really good, but the food is sometimes hit-or-miss. Admittedly, the small kitchen is limiting, but the staff just don’t act as if they’re trained to set a longer waiting time expectation. What’s less acceptable, is that the waitstaff & manager are selectively attentive to various tables. In two and a half hours, we saw our waitress three times in total. When we brought this to the manager’s attention, she said«Well, there are other restaurants.» I guess business is excellent every opening hour. Sure wish Carlos or Michael would take over on busy days. They’re good guys & deserve success, but when repeat customers continue to experience the same problem, perhaps a little more staff training would be helpful.

Great brunch and specials. Seasonal brews are always great. The views are spectacular but it’s a far cry from the prob gal establishment Evans that once called that place home! Hope to see crab picking come back with parchment paper on the table!

We happened to be staying at the Island Inn & Suites next door, and there were not many restaurants within 20 miles. Fortunately for us, there was a microbrewery and seafood restaurant located right next door. To top it off, there was a table on their deck that overlooks both St. George’s Creek and the Potomac. We both started with the beer sampler and the veggie quesadilla. I enjoyed the beer — particularly the gluten-free peach beer, their Scottish ale, and their coffee stout. My husband, typically not a wheat fan, enjoyed their wheat beer. The veggie quesadilla was good, but it could’ve used a few more vegetable varieties in it. It was mostly tomato. For our entrees, I had the burger, which was good(nothing special), and my husband had a variety seafood platter(Coppio?). He said the shrimp was the best he had. Our server was great, but around 6 p.m., the restaurant got slammed(Memorial Day weekend), so we saw a little less of her. People seemed to have trouble finding parking, as well. Overall, the view was spectacular, and we were thrilled to find good seafood and beer right next to our hotel.

Went there on a beautiful sunny Saturday. It is located on Saint Georges Island which has some gorgeous views of the water both in front and back of the restaurant. The parking lot is not huge, but you can certainly find spaces to park. Next door to the restaurant is a hotel. As I stepped into this restaurant, I noticed that not only is it spacious and airy, but you can also dine outside with views of Saint George Creek, which is a vast area of water. My friends decided to eat at the bar instead(which is indoors). At the time we arrived, we were just 30 minutes away from the dinner hour and so we were able to order items from the lunch menu. I decided to keep it simple and ordered the Classic Cheese Burger. It is an all-natural, grass fed 8 oz. burger with the choice of American, Cheddar or Provolone cheese, served with lettuce, tomato and pickle($ 10). I had my burger with the provolone cheese, no pickle and it was good. If I am in this area again, I will definitely check this place out as the view is spectacular as you eat, especially on a bright sunny day, plus the bartenders were friendly too.

Enjoyed everything we ordered & the service was wonderful. Prices were a little high but I guess a gorgeous waterfront view has it’s price. Seared Ahi tuna appetizer was delicious. Oysters were in season so we ordered a dozen on the half shell. Restaurant & bar got very busy right before sunset. Local beer brewed nearby was a plus. They had a good IPA I tried… twice.

Three stars for the food and beer. If not for those two things being outstanding this place would get only one star. The wait staff her is terrible; there just isn’t any other way to put it. It’s almost like watching an episode of Bar Rescue. The«bartender» didn’t know basic mixed drink recipes and used her phone to look them up. None of the servers knew how to use the nitro draft. This is of course when they are even around. The bartender would disappear for 15 – 20 minutes at a time, left piles of plates on the bar, and spent much of her time answering text messages. The food is great, and the beer is as well. The view is incredible. The management and servers are terrible. The kitchen staff is the only reason I would come here again, as they are the only ones that seem to care.

This restaurant has a fantastic view. I could easily see people holding their wedding reception here. The food was alright. I had their pork chops. It was done well. However, the sides that came with it are a little too sweet for me. The glazed carrots could benefit from having less sugar. Servers are very nice. Overall, I would definitely come back here for the wonderful view.

Set on the water, a long drive down a dark unlit road — Ruddy Duck appears like a mirage. But no, its real. The inside is well-lit, cheerful, and staffed with friendly servers. We had a rather large group and sat back near the bar and it was a perfect fit. The oyster po-boy could have used a little more sauce, but the french fries were crispy, and the beer was cold and readily served. Cream ale on tap is a nice find. It was dark and after sunset when I had dinner or else the landscape would’ve been an even bigger draw. As it was, I could only see the long L-shaped dock, lit by electric lights at the right angles that glanced soft light off the dark water lapping near by.

I was a little nervous after reading a previous review about table ware not being clean. Checking their Facebook page showed that they needed a water heater replacement after that review was written. I suspect that was the problem for that diner. We had a party of 4 that dined on the deck. I think we all enjoyed the food, it was good. I don’t think anyone was amazed but it all the dishes were solid offerings. The main attraction here is the location. From our table everyone at the table had a view of the water. This tiny strip of land allows a water view on both sides of the restaurant. We had appetizers first, a fried seafood plate and a crab dip. Both were good. Next we had fish and chips, brats and mashed, and two diners had crab cakes. Everyone was satisfied with their meal. The menu is a little limited, the other location has a brick over pizza, and this one does not. Those items and 8 drinks resulted in a bill total of $ 150. Overall this felt like a fair price, not cheap but the evening was a hit. The weather was perfect, the deck was pleasant area to have dinner, the service was good and so was the food. I would return based on our experience.
