Great Indian food. I went on a Friday night. Just very very crowded and small. Avoid sitting by the door, it doesn’t close all the way and humidity will hit ya!

Excellent excellent food ! I’m surprised I didn’t hear about this place until I got the groupon! We ordered the sev puri, tandoori paneer as appetizers and my gosh they were delicious! The paneer was extremely soft and the tandoori masala just perfect For our entrees we got kadhi pakoda(which I’ve never seen at an Indian restaurant) and man, it was just like homemade kadhi! Absolutely perfect level of ‘bitterness’(as is expected from kadhi. Paneer makhani was yummy ! For dessert we got rasmalai and u could taste the saffron in it. So yummy ! Deft one of the much better Indian restaurants in miami. And I absolutely loved the variety on the vegetarian items !

I’ve been going to Imlee for years, and it never used to disappoint. I’m not sure what’s happened recently but this restaurant is nothing like the way it used to be. The waiter brought out TWO papadums before our meal(usually Indian restaurants will give you 5 or more). Papadums are cheap and easy to make, and when we asked for more the waiter told us we’d have to pay for them. At other Indian restaurants, I’ve asked for more and they gladly bring them without charging you. My mom and I used to share an order of chicken tikka masala and it was always enough for the both of us, but tonight we shared an order and it wasn’t even enough food for one person. There were maybe 7 or 8 tiny and thin slices of chicken in the bowl, and the rest was just sauce and onions. That one order cost $ 19! We told the waiter and he brought us more chicken free of charge which was nice, but we shouldn’t have had to ask in the first place. The amount of food they had initially brought us was absurd. Also, our server wasn’t the most polite either. The only good part of this experience was that the food was delicious as always. I don’t see myself coming back here, which is unfortunate because the food is so good.

Imlee is an oasis in a desert of unexciting food options. We had the vegetable samosas, the crust was crispy and the potato & pea combo was very well seasoned. The garlic naan was super fresh! My parents ordered the assorted Tandoori Platter and Lamb Kofta Curry. The Mahi and Chicken that came with the platter were so juicy, I almost wish I had just ordered the Mahi. The platter comes much like a fajita platter, on a hot plate with a bed of green peppers and onions. I had the Baingan Bharta which was eggplant in a red sauce, it had a wonderful robust roasted flavor. A really great alternative to the usual curries! The star of the meal was the Lamb Kofta. The meat fell apart it was so tender! We all ended up using all the rice to sop up the incredible sauce. Get this, trust me. Not that we could really eat more. but I love Gajjar Halwa(shredded carrots in sweet milk and pistachios). They did not have this and the waiter and owners felt so bad they gave me a FREE portion of Ras Malai, which was DELICIOUS! Save space for any of their desserts! Overall the food was incredibly well seasoned, our waiter was amazingly kind and helpful! A little pricey but I can’t complain because it really was a great dining experience!

Second dinner at Imlee and the food is definitely the highlight of this restaurant. Great vegetarian and non-vegetarian menus with my favorite Bindhi Masala. Absolutely recommend as a great Indian food experience.

Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. My wife and I had lunch on a quiet Monday. The staff was excellent. The chef even came out to answer a question we had. I had the Lamb Do Piazza and my wife had the butter chicken. Both were excellent. If I had to recommend only 1, it would be the butter chicken. Holy crap that sauce is good. I could bathe in it. Seriously, give it a try and you’ll be hooked. We’ll be back. They also have an excellent selection of Indian beers. I’m a beer snob and it was nice to get something other than Kingfisher. Try the Old Monk.

We hadn’t been to Imlee in a little while but since my last review, we were going pretty consistently. Just recently, we ordered takeout and the food was pretty awful. It tasted as thought they had changed most of their recipes. Maybe there’s a new chef? I don’t know but the Chicken Tikka Masala was YUK and packed with onions DOUBLEYUK. The channa masala almost tasted like ketchup? Weird. The mushroom mahkni was good but not out of this world. Garlic Naan was the same. I’m just going to make the trip to Bombay next time — it’s just far superior for the price.

We used to come here a lot but today I found that the quality of the food is not the same. My husband ordered a main dish from the menu and I ordered the buffet which includes Naan bread, but the waiter tells me that I can’t share your he bread with my husband. I’m paying $ 25 for my Platte and I can’t share the bread, it’s ridiculous. They should learn to respect their customers. I will continue to go to the Indian restaurant in Coconut Grove with good food and better service. We stopped going to Imlee, I wanted to give them another chance but bad experience today.

My husband and I love this place the chicken Jalfrizzi is amazing. And chicken curry is good to. Has a very cute ambience. It is kind of a small place so I recommend getting there early before it gets too crowded.

It’s a pleasant reminder of what real Indian food is, but far from true Indian food. The flavors lack complexity and spice, with ingredients simply used to entice the sense of smell. The rice served was microwaved and the dal lacked the rich creaminess. No chutney was available — a must-have standard in any Indian dinner table. Considering the limited access to real Indian ingredients like fresh masala or true Kingfisher premium beer, This restaurant still under delivers, offering nothign more than a pleasant and simple Indian food aroma.

If you want service and customer respect, don’t go here. Initially they hung up when I said I wanted to place a take out order. Drove over to place the order and had to insist that one of the waiters takes the order. They told me it would be ready in 20 minutes and now 44 minutes later, they only tell me it is that it is coming. They are busy. They weren’t too burley to take the money up front for the order! Not happy with this place as they really don’t care for the business! Now after having the food, don’t bother. The vegetable samosas were very old. So old the potatoes inside were dark brown. The food we ordered was not that great overall considering the wait time. Won’t be going back there again.

Make a reservation! The restaurant is very small and they are always busy on weekend nights. Service is uneven. Sometimes you feel like you have to reach out and grab someone to get a refill of water or to order more bread. As for the food, it ranges from okay to very good. I’m not very adventurous so I usually order the chicken tikka masala — it’s always tasty although the portion is somewhat small(a few pieces of chicken in a lot of sauce). I was disappointed with the pakora appetizer on my last visit — greasy and not too flavorful — and the naan was charred black. They replaced it, but not until after we had finished our meal … oh well. We will probably be back within the next month or two, but it would be nice if they focused a little more on consistency and service. PS. If you check in on Unilocal, you receive a free drink. I recommend using it for the mango lassi(a yogurt-based beverage) — sweet and refreshing.

Imlee, you have done it!!! you have officially made me rearrange my «Favorite Indian restaurant order.» This place had absolutely delicious food. I am quite picky when it comes to Indian food, and many great places I have had in Miami have been debunked by my experience with this restaurant. First of all, make a reservation or you will have to wait. The place is small, but crowded. The service takes long but is it worth it!!! To start, I had a vegetable soup and some samosas… Soooooo yummy! also, the sauce they brought them with was fresh, really well made and rich! I followed with my favorite, The Daal makhni. It was soooooo good! What is it about Indian spicy food to makes us all go crazy? Our servers were young, and running, but they did their best to promptly serve our table. I had no idea this place existed, and now I plan to frequent it a lot more. Very well deserved stars.

I had honestly one of the worst dining experiences of my life at Imlee. It began poorly when the waiting staff clumsily sat my party at a table in the back corner. After leaving us with some water, and taking our order, they proceeded to forget about our party for nearly an hour and a half. This is not a hyperbolic description. Our waiter did not attend to us for nearly an hour and a half. When we finally signaled him, he claimed they had not forgotten us, and that our food would be ready soon. Mind you, he was asking us to remind him of our orders, while claiming they were nearly ready. After that, the waiting staff spent the next 15 minutes clumsily releasing whatever dishes they could reheat the most quickly. The cheese naan had a unmelted slab of publix American Cheese slapped in the middle. The Chicken Videloo and Korma that we ordered had been clearly microwaved, and were cold. To top it all off the dishes were poorly spiced, and bland. At this point in the meal, the waiters turned from negligent to hyper attentive. This change did not improve the meal. Instead, the waiters proceeded to pester us as we ate, pulling dishes off the table before we were finished with our meals. This is an awful restaurant, with terrible service and worse food. Do not come here. If I could post less than one star, I would.

This was by far one of the worst service in a restaurant that I have been to. It was so bad. That after a while it became a joke and a challenge to see how much worse can it be. When we asked for silverware. It was literally thrown on the table. Young lady who was server. Was rude and really did not care about our business or just simply had no desire to be polite. Food was ok.

Small Indian restaurant in Pinecrest on US1. Located in a small strip mall with plenty of parking. Not to many tables here so if you come with a large party or want guaranteed seating then I would recommend you make a reservation especially Friday and Saturday nights. Once you’re seated your greeted with some black pepper crisps with some spicy tomato spread. I have had the butter chicken and lamb curry. Portions are not to big and they come with basmati rice. Also have had the fried lentil patties and the garlic naan. When I was here the place was empty and the service was quick. It was ok but nothing out of this world.

I felt compelled to write a review for obvious reasons… A taste of India in Pinecrest Village. Who knew right? I’ve been coming here for what it seems like many years. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in South Florida. Their high quality cooking standards keep me coming back for more. Tucked away in a strip mall, sits this neighborhood gem. There are other places to eat around there but my tastebuds beg me for Indian cuisine every time I enter that mall or even think of Pinecrest. The restaurant itself is very small but rather quite intimate. The ambiance is soothing, nicely dimmed and pretty :) with loungy Indian music playing all around, softly. I brought my special lady for her birthday on a Saturday(I strongly suggest you make reservations). She had never had Indian food before and to my delight, she was open to it! So I felt I had to bring her to Imlee’s for her first experience at authentic Indian cuisine. We were sat immediately in the most intimate corner table available enjoying the sight and sounds of the fountain and music alike while sipping on a glass of wine. For starters we ordered Vegetable Samosas. A pastry packed with potatoes, peas, herbs and spices. Delicious especially if accompanied with tamarind sauce. Tip: ask for it cause it does not come with it. Rogan Josh is exquisitely prepared. It is one of Imlee’s specialties. An aromatic, flavorful, spicy, curry braised lamb dish cooked until tender. My mouth is watering as I write this… It is definitely not gamey tasting or gamey smelling. Big enough for two people to share. Chicken Tikka Masala never fails me here. Roasted chunks of chicken in a spicy creamy yogurt based orangy/reddish sauce with a hint of zest baked in a tandoor oven. Garnished with fresh cilantro. Mmmmmmm love me some cilantro: P It is also a great dish for those new to Indian food. You can ask for all white meat as well for an upcharge. Service was great. In fact, service has always been great for me. They’re all team players so just grab one of them and ask for what you need. Don’t get pissy just because they are not committed to your table 100%. The food more than makes up for what they might lack in service. Imlee’s is worth it! Give it a try. Reservations were made via OpenTable and we were sat right away. I also used a Groupon and was treated just the same as anyone else… with respect and professionalism. I’ve never encountered a problem in either area. In fact, they don’t care about the Groupon until after you’re done with your meal. Get your Groupon and LivingSocial deals cause this place can be a bit pricey but soooooo worth it! Mmmmmmmm I need my Indian fix now!!!

An excellent example of a quality modern Indian restaurant. The Imli served a superbly tasty meal for a reasonable price. What sets this restaurant apart for me was not only the taste, but also the presentation of the food about which the Chef had really made an effort. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. We were exhausted after a hard day at work and heard about how awesome Imlee is and decided to go escape the kitchen and dishes at home. It was perfect! The only thing lacking would have been a massage, but that’s fine… We felt like we were in heaven!!. We had two lamb empanadas as appetizer. It was very good! Then we had” Chicken Tikka Marsala” and” Lamb Chops Curry”. I asked for light to medium spice in my chicken and it was perfect. Large portions accompanied by rice. We also had warm a «Garlic Nann» which was like pita bread to accompany the meal. The waiters were just great and friendly and we enjoyed a Wednesday night away from home. It felt very special! The place is small in a very intimate setting and the lighting is perfect, they have a nice fountain by a corned table which was a nice relaxing touch and the music was low and very erotic, perfect for a date night or a just because day with that someone in your life. The moment you walk in the smells of cinnamon and spices greet you in the most subtle manner and its just magnificent, opens your appetite right away and gets you in the mood for a great dining experience.

I’ve been hearing about Imlee for years. A couple people(whose opinion I used to respect) told me how good it was. Well I finally went there and I must say, I was thoroughly disappointed. Food was just«ok» but the service was terrible. It was basically staffed by a bunch of teenagers that seemed to have no idea of what they were doing. The samosas and paneer pakora were pretty good. However, the chicken tikka was dry and the lamb curry was almost tasteless. In fact, the only tastes that really stood out in the curry were the old tasting lamb and the chunks of burnt«something». The rice was also bad. It looked more like sushi rice. It was not long, fluffy basmati like most Indian restaurants. And everything is sooooo overpriced it’s ridiculous. However, the worst part about it was that they’re even allowed to remain open. I didn’t know this last night when I ate there, but I found out through another review this morning. They have had almost 150 health dept violations on less than 3 years!!! WTF? This place is a total sh*t box. AVOIDATALLCOST! Go to Bombay Darbar instead.

My last visit to Imlee wasn’t a good one. The service, which can be hit or miss, was downright horrible. It was a long wait for everything, including refills on drinks. And after mentioning the slow service, we even waited forever for the check. They simply don’t care! The food was also disappointing. I ordered my usual… the chicken korma, and the spices weren’t grinded properly. I kept biting into large bits. Since I hate«bits» in my food and poor service, I won’t be back. Sticking to my old favorite… Bombay Darbar!
