Always a treat and hard to choose from the amazing flavors. The key is getting your kid to choose one of the other flavors you wanted so you can sneak a few spoons of theirs too!

This is the best ice cream in Amador County. They are always really good at having different flavors. My favorite one is the cake batter with circus animal cookies inside! They also have some amazing waffle cones that will hold plenty of ice cream!

Been here a few times, love their variety and the fact they change the menu and make their own ice cream. The ice cream itself is nothing spectacular, it’s just ice cream. Still tastes great and the service is always wonderful!

Always excited to stop by this shop whenever we are in the area. They always have something unique and super tasty to offer. Love the circus ice cream with those pink frosted animal cookies we all grew up with and loved!

Always a pleasant treat! The choices change and the usually have a surprise flavor. Prices are a little high so we don’t go often but when we do it always puts a smile on our faces.

Rather annoyed to drive all the way here after hearing such good things only to pull in and find this place was actually closed Tuesday. It clearly states they’re open All week until 9pm… so we wasted a trip here. Bummer. Next trip around, I guess. Edit: we’re visiting from out of town and rely on the accuracy of hours and operating info supplied by owners and customers on Unilocal. So to make a special trip for their yummy ice cream with an excited two year old in tow makes for a crummy return back to our hotel down the hill.

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Stopped here on our way back from camping. The Kit Carson Crunk and Butter Pecan were delicious! The service was great and very helpful. A wonderful litte surprise! Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

Our favorite ice cream shop. When the kids see the neon ice cream sign they get so excited. Great flavors and it’s homemade!

This is always a stop when we visit the in-laws at their cabin. Love it. Latest flavor was the Sierra Mint Fudge. Yummo!

The BEST Ice Cream in NorCal, period. This is truly amazing hand made, creative flavors. They take cookie dough ice cream to a whole new level, and the Mother May I Join the Circus(yes, Circus Animal cookies) is insane! So cream, smooth, mouth watering delicious… and some awesome ladies making it happen. The menu is always changing, which is part of the fun.

Right down the highway from Gianinni’s Italian. Stopped for a great sugar cone after dinner. I had the Dulce de Leche and I thought it was very good, creamy with a distinctive taste, and a very crisp sugar cone. Busy place and well worth a short wait.

We were camping in Pine Grove and heard great things about Munnerlyn’s so had to stop in to see what it was all about. Super clean– I must say. Service was decent– not overly friendly. I must say I was very disappointed in the selection of flavors. Nothing peanut buttery and too many coffee type flavors. We settled for the Rocky Road and Cookie Doe two scoop hot fudge sundae. The Rocky Road was great. The Cookie Doe was not flavorful and had hardly ANY cookie dough in it. The hot fudge was almost nowhere to be found. I did like the almonds on top instead of sprinkles. Overall, the quality ingredients were there but the Cookie Doe lacks flavor. Overall, «okay» experience but not worth $ 7.50.

We swung by Munnerlyns as part of my ice cream quest when we travel. I’m giving them 3 stars based on quality of the ice cream(mouth feel, as my wife calls it). I found the flavors to be underwhelming and /or uninteresting. If the flavoring was better, the ice cream could be a 5. Service is friendly. Pricing is average.

I wanted to LOVE this place after reading all the great reviews. For reals. Still, four stars. I love that they make their own ice creams, and I found the prices to be very reasonable considering that. I love that their spoons and cups are decomposable. The gal behind the counter was sweet and helpful. But I didn’t love the actual ice cream as much as I wanted to, so I’m going with four stars. Maybe our expectations just got too high?

UPDATE: Sad to say we really can’t go to this ice cream parlor anymore. My son has peanut allergies and wheat allergies. I’ve recently decided that all business that don’t try to improve their processes to allow all patrons to visit are going to be dinged severely from me. My son could’t even come here with his baseball team. Wake up world, more and more kids suffer from allergies, it’s a disability, and you need to wake up to this crisis and offer products safe to everyone. OK, this one is a no brainer. It should get 10 stars. I’ve seen people drive from 2 hours away just to come here for ice cream. Seriously! It’s just a matter of minutes before the Food Network shows up at Munnerlyn’s Ice Cream and make them their own show. So, I’m gonna break it down: –It’s a really hardworking, smart, ice cream university educated couple making ice cream 24⁄7365 days a year the real special way… by hand with homemade style –Using the best ingredients(I’m lactose intolerant and I NEVER could eat ice cream until Munnerlyn’s and they are the only ice cream my system can handle) because they don’t skimp on quality that typically makes people like me sick –IT’S THELOCALDAIRY –They use biodegradable corn in the packaging and utensils so it’s all recyclable –They have solar panels too… they are just so hip and environmentally responsible. My grandchildren thank them! –Their Ice Cream Parlor is so clean you could eat food off of the floor in the back. They regularly clean every fridge top to bottom, they follow food safety and surpass it. The cleanliness is so impressive on so many levels. They are a model of how a business should be started, developed, and managed. They are hip, creative, and witty how they name their flavors which I find very entertaining. Plus, they regularly travel to keep up on what others are doing with ice cream and they report back what they’ve found. This is impressive and speaks to how committed they are to making ice cream and keeping up with what’s going on in the world. In addition, they have won numerous awards, been on Sacramento’s A list, and they will be huge celebrities soon and they will have franchises all over the world. This is your chance to meet the creators before they are too famous and too busy. Remember, there was a day you could have met Tom & Jerry and had a flavor named after you… This is your second chance with Munnerlyn’s…Plus, it’s whats ice cream is meant to be… absolutely life changing bliss. Even if you don’t like ice cream you will love this. Get off your computer, get in your car, and drive to Pine Grove, Munnerlyn’s Ice Cream. You will thank me! … You’re Welcome!

This place truly makes the *BEST* ice cream I’ve ever tasted. Its home made & you can actually stand there and watch while its being made. You must try their kit carson crunk, peach, rocky road, black licorish, maple walnut – frankly I’ve never had a flavor I didn’t like. I’ve liked some better than others. When you go, get a six flavor sampler then you can get a little of everything. Unfortunately their to-go containers are about the same size as the small Hagen Daas, so plan accordingly. They have a nice outdoor seating area cuz its very small inside. I would recommend taking the wife out for a nice drive, taking her to Munnerlyns for desert & maybe you’ll get lucky! Go there for a decadent milkshake & forget the calories!

After Indian Grinding Rock SHP& Daffodil Hill we went to Munnerlyn’s Ice Creamery. It’s back on Hwy 88, not very far from the above. From Daffodil Hill make a Left on Hwy 88, it’s like a block away on the Left after you make the turn, next to Sierra House Restaurant & across from El Dorado Savings Bank. It’s a tiny shop with a very cool giant elephant artwork with ice cream in its trunk. One lady, I think the owner, helped us, very friendly. There were some people before us, but the line grew after we got in, she later got a young girl to help her. I tried 4 flavors & they were all good. Prices: Junior $ 2.5 Reg $ 3.5 Lg $ 5 Sampler 6 mini scoops $ 5.75 Hot fudge sundae Small $ 5.75; Lg $ 7.25 Milkshakes 16oz $ 6 Add Malt 50c Hand packed pints $ 6.5 Fresh waffle cones $ 1 Flavors change daily, check FB. Not updated enough though, & you can’t get service on your iPhone to check either! When I went flavors were: Cake Batter Maple Walnut Irish Cream Blueberry Lavender Dark Chocolate Stout Kit Carson Crunk Fluffanella Cherry Vanilla Mango Habanero Sorbet Dulce de Leche Swiss Chocolate Vanilla Fudge Sorbet Bubble Gum Rocky Road Meyer Lemon Custard I got Meyer Lemon Custard & Kit Carson Crunk on Waffle Cone $ 6; B. got Junior $ 2.5(not enough Maple Walnut lady said, he got a mini scoop of another flavor think it was Vanilla) — Total $ 8.50. Charged it! One unisex bathroom in the back by the kitchen. Cool ice cream artwork posters in there. She said on FB would open Sat 3÷16÷13 earlier 12 – 8 for Daffodil Hill folks. March hours: Tues Closed Sun 2 – 7 Mon, W-Sat 2 – 8 2 chairs & bench inside; outside 2 round tables with chairs.
