I live right next to this place so I gave it a shot. The burgers are good, but unfortunately that’s about all The Grind has going for it. The atmosphere is terrible. The bartender had no personality and seemed unhappy to be there. The lighting is terrible, no music, and the place was empty. What a disappointment! It’s too bad because the area needs a good bar and this place has a lot of potential with a large bar area and wide range of drinks.

Pretty cool looking bar with smaller intimate type setting. Plenty of TVs to watch any sports game you like. They have plenty of beverage selection from alcoholic to non alcoholic. Had garbage pail fries to start. Main course was the original with a fried egg on top. The food was delicious. I enjoyed the taste and how it is prepared. On a negative note they messed up our order didn’t get the half and half until after done with the sandwich. Also food took longer than most hamburger places. Make sure you have plenty of time if you decide to dine here.

Fair Burger; really 2.5 stars but not applicable here. Deluxe and the Strand blow this place outta the water.

Average food; average service. Waiter did not honor 15% check in coupon. Won’t be back!

The Sweet & Spicy Burger here is indeed excellent. The candied jalapeños it’s topped with are perfect. It’s huge and intimidating, best consumed on an extremely empty stomach. The mesquite charred chicken wings are also delicious, although perhaps not best ordered before a burger unless you’re sharing them with someone(I was very full after enjoying both on my own). But yeah, this is a great little random strip mall find.

Odd location for such a hip burger joint. The mall it’s in is unassuming, but once inside you are instantly impressed. Great service, menu and prices. No complaints. Hope to return someday.

Quiet eve at The Grind but service was stellar. I could complain that the wine was way too cold or that the asparagus was overdone. However, that’s not the point folks; the burgers are awesome. Thanks for the great Peppercorn and the Buffalo Burgers.

Had a great dinner tonight at the Grind! The fun, casual atmosphere was perfect for our family! The burgers and fries were awesome and our server Sara was friendly and on top of it!!! I definitely recommend giving it a try!!!

The entire wait stuff was drinking on the job. Our waitress was so drunk she couldn’t hear the kitchen staff repeatedly dinging the bell to let her know the food was ready. Took 35 minutes of our food sitting there getting cold before the kitchen staff had to come pull her to the food and show her it was ready. She forgot our appetizer and one of the entrees. Food was 5⁄10. Don’t go here.

The Grind has grown into a nice little neighborhood bar. Often, the wife and I will walk over there for a burger, fries and a tasty microbrew. It’s never too crowded, service is great and the food is pretty darn good. They’ve expanded the menu over the years and perhaps next time I will try the wings.

My wife and first experienced the Grind a few years ago and loved everything we tried from the salads to the Kobe beef burgers. I think the restaurant is either under new ownership or different chef because the food quality has diminished and the menu has become more complicated but less inspired. We have vowed to not return until they can pull it together and create better food and service.

I wrote a review a week go about about my food being a little burnd. When I came into day the owner came up and gave me their fried jalapenos on the house. Was a very pleasant surprise. Sens knew ownership has token over customer is an A+. Looking forward to what changes they are going to make.

A group of coworkers and I went to try this place after one of them highly recommended the buffalo burger. When we got there he did mention that the only thing to improve would be the service. Intrigued by the buffalo burger, all 6 of us ordered it. While we waited, we saw how just one server and the bartender were struggling to keep up with the rush of lunch hour. Since it’s possible that another server scheduled for that day, or two of them, just didn’t show up, we didn’t hold it against them… they did look like they were trying their best. However, after we all finished eating, someone asked if it was worth the almost $ 20 price of said burger, and not one of us could say yes. The patty was dry(ordered as medium cook level) and it had no taste whatsoever. All I could taste was the arugula and a little bit of sauce, but the meat was quite insipid. If I want a great burger, or «the best burger in AZ», I’ll go to the Paradise Valley Burger Company.

My fave neighborhood gem that is always overlooked. Thank goodness so it can be my very own ultimate cave. However don’t let that discount that it’s a wonderful spot for a business lunch without the hassle of overcrowding. Love the multiple screens playing every type of sportscast I can feast my eyes on. You’ll always hold my attention when you have Guinness, blueberry Stoli and a slew of whiskey to choose from you. Staff is just cool. They stopped serving the ahi sliders as an app. But try the slider entrée. You won’t be disappointed for a sample of the BLT, sweet and spicy and the peppercorn burgers. If your appetite is big enough, just get the adult size Sweet and Spicy burger with their herb fries. This burger deserves accolades for being popular. Order medium rare so you get all the drippings and juiciness of the meat. Go big or Go home.

Best burger in AZ! We had the Sweet and Spicy and Buffalo burgers with sweet potato fries and herb fries. The burgers were extremely juicy and a very big mouthful. The candied jalapeños in the Sweet and Spicy were great with the arugula, crunchy fried veg and juicy meat. Huge and very tasty! The bar had a good selection of craft beers on tap and some interesting cocktails — I tried the Light Stormy and it was refreshing and sweet after a long week!

Every time I’m in a new place I search out the best burger in town. After reading countless reviews I made my way to The Grind. Sadly, I did not find the best burger in town, I found the mediocre burger in town. Now maybe it’s me, maybe I just don’t appreciate or even find the novelty in eating a burger bigger than my face. I mean seriously, this thing was absurd and made eating near impossible. When you have to deconstruct anything just to fit it in your mouth, well, that’s just dumb. The burgers are stupid thick, over salted and over cooked. Seriously unimpressed with the burger. Now the wings and fries, they’re pretty good! While I wouldn’t call the wings anything near hot, more on the mild side, the chicken was cooked to perfection. I had a half regular, half sweet potato order of fries and both were darn delicious. The atmosphere was cool, a little dark for my taste, definitely a bar… with tables but it’s clean and well decorated. The staff was overly friendly and somewhat helpful, even though she was new and hadn’t tried much. To sum it up, I don’t know that I would recommend this place. It’s a little pricey for only an average burger. Maybe if I’d have had a cocktail or two with lunch and gotten half lit I’d have been more impressed but my sober self just says«meh». Ohh and the pickle was good.

Without a doubt one of the best burgers in town. More a bar than a burger restaurant so not the place to take your small kids for dinner. My favorite burger is th we sweet and spicy which has the candied jalapeños which add a kick but not to hot. Just enough to give great flavor. Their fries are very good. Would highly recommend the donuts and you have to get the bread pudding. I am not much of a dessert person but the bread pudding is killer! Like I stated the place is more of a bar than a restaurant so the dining area is small. I like going there for lunch so you can watch the games on their many tvs above the bar. There are huge pictures of iconic arizona public figures above most booths which are for sale. The service is always great and the people are very friendly. The parking lot is small and is shared with other businesses in a small shopping plaza. Overall this is on the top 3 places for burgers in Phoenix. Sad to see the North Scottsdale location close but will always drive here to get a burger.

Came here for Arizona Restaurant Week and am so glad we did! It’s located in a convenient plaza. Walking up to the front, by the looks of it, it felt like we needed a password to enter. But it turned out to be a very quaint, seat-yourself, modern diner/bar. The ARW menu comes with a COMPLIMENTARY cheese plate! And a draft beer. My bf and I were pleased with our choices from the custom menu: the bruschetta(appetizer), sweet & spicy burger(main course), and doughnuts with butterscotch sauce for dessert were all good, unique, and full of flavor. I also ordered the Stir Fry which was awesome as well. Our server was real nice and prompt. Thanks to The Grind for an awesome date night and ARW!
