SimonMed Imaging

Thought I broke my hand. Sadly it doesn’t work to go get an image before you go to the doctor so I had to wait and get in to my doctor who checked it then gave me the order for the xray. Said he would get the results that afternoon and let me know. This being the closest place I went there. They were announcing that the wait was an hour and a half. Got the form filled out and sat with the others. Very small waiting room so it was SRO. As I waited I was hacked on by the infirmed waiting for chest x-​rays, kids with runny noses and other poor saps like me that had an injury. Luckily I was called in after only an hour. The technician was very nice and did all the images requested by my doctor. As I was leaving he said they would get the image to my doctor is two days. I told him my doctor said he would get them that afternoon. He said maybe my doctor had access. It took 2 days and luckily my hand is not broken.

I made an appointment for a ultrasound. The receptionist was great. I was called in right on time. The ultrasound technician was professional and explained everything.

Very long wait to be seen but once seen, the staff is very thorough and friendly. Confusion on billing. They seem unable or unwilling to bill medical insurance and place medical liens for accidents/​injuries. The clientele was sketchy. The smell of body odor coming from the people in the waiting room was wretched.

Went to 5410 W Thunderbird Rd. Had a MRI appt was told they were over an hour late. Place was nice inside but the bathroom was filthy and smelled of urine with no hand soap for washing. After finally receiving my MRI I asked tech why so late? I was told simonmed double books and adds people in front of they are deemed important enough. Tech apologized and asked me not to repeat that info. Was also told they never give raises because they are told the company doesn’t make any money. The lobby was full so, Mr Simon is keeping the money to his self. Shame on SimonMed for double booking and cutting people in front of us. Go to Insight, SMILE, or any hospital. They can do all those exams too without the double booking!

I went here for an X-​RAY and here is the good and bad. Some of it is beyond their control but just an FYI.
Pros–
The woman working the desk was probably the best receptionist I have ever found in any medical facility in Phx, «enough said.»
The rest of the staff were nice
The facility was clean, relaxed, and organized.
Cons
It took three hours to get an X-​Ray. That is way too long for a facility that only had two people waiting to be seen ahead of me. Granted, I did not know what was going on inside but only two people left in all that time. I can see if it was packed but it was not. I know I was a walk in, but still.
Not their fault but an FYI, the construction on Bethany and 19^th Ave going north is a nightmare and extremely dangerous. I am resolved to not go near Christown Mall area for a year. It is extremely difficult and borderline impossible getting into and out to this facility alive!
I would have given it four stars but took off one for the wait time. I did not take off a star for the construction since that is not their fault. However, giving fair warning to others to be careful or chose another Simonmed facility in town.
