Ozzie Ice offers the unique experience of playing hockey on a half size rink.
The thought of playing on a smaller rink may not appeal to everyone at first, but it adds a new dimension to the game with a focus on skating and shooting.
If you go and play a pick up game either with friends, or dropping in at night, you will find that at the end of the night you have skated harder and faster than you normally would playing in the other rinks.
The closed space develops quick cuts and make players focus on competing on both ends of the ice. There is no time to slack on a shift due to the tempo of the games.
If you are a novice skater, I encourage you to get a few friends together and call for their open ice times. Ozzie Ice has several rinks and you may even find that you have the entire rink to yourself to practice drills and shooting.
For goalies, there is no substitute for learning. Ozzie will develop your angles and quickness.
Whether you are looking for league play, open ice, pick up games, or instruction Ozzie Ice has it all. It may not be as close as some of the other rinks if you live in the East Valley, but it’s worth the drive.
