Friends of the Phoenix Library

I actually used to volunteer at this warehouse before I got my recent job. The people are so friendly (especially Alexis Boyle, whom I believe is in charge there) and helpful. Their welcoming and check-​out system is very organized and runs smoothly; you can tell they all know what they are doing!
The only reason I didn’t give more stars is because 1) it is super squished together, and with the crowds it’s hard to get anywhere, let alone stand in one place too long browsing through a book like I usually do at any given bookstore; 2) the selection is hit-​or-​miss because it’s all based on whatever the public (and the library) decides to donate, and most of it is way-​outdated stuff. But you can dig and still find fairly recent titles.
The price you CAN’T beat — I bought 15 books for 19 dollars! Score!

The Friends of the Phoenix Library are having a big book sale this weekend at their warehouse at 1330 N 29TH DR. You can get there by going south on 29TH AVE from McDowell RD. You turn right/​west when you see Willetta or Culver. I think that hardback books are $ 2 and softcover are $ 1.00. I read that they have 250,000 items for sale. The sale is from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, 4÷23÷2011, and from noon until 5:00 PM on the following Sunday (⁴⁄₂₄). The prices are 50% OFF on Sunday.
