Great food, fast service. Call ahead if you are in a rush. They have the BEST lentil soup around. Prices are reasonable and their daily special includes a drink. Under new management, but the quality of the food appears to be the same.

My favorite Middle Eastern eatery in Phoenix, Fattoush Restaurant(4426 North 19th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ85015), was the spot for a delicious lunch today! I feasted on the zesty House Salad and creamy/smokey Babaganouj dip(roasted eggplant, tahini, lemon juice & garlic) and Pita Bread as an appetizer, followed by the Chicken Mishikla(grilled chicken breast, eggplant, mushroom & cauliflower on a bed of Saffron Rice topped with a garlic tomato sauce) as the main course. I have been coming to this«hidden secret» of a restaurant since I was on the police force. The simple setting and authentic decorations created the feeling of actually being in a restaurant somewhere in a Middle Eastern city. The facilities were clean and parking was readily available. The staff were very cheery and helpful!

There’s nothing necessarily bad about this place, but there’s nothing exceptional about it either, and it’s not like Phoenix is lacking in delicious Middle Eastern restaurants. The gyro sandwich was fairly tasteless though large, and the beef shwarma didn’t seem very authentic in taste or texture. I will say the lentil soup was delicious, though, and the portion that comes with each meal is generous! Personally, for Middle Eastern food in Central Phoenix, you just can’t beat the Middle Eastern Bakery on 16th Street.

Excellent service and outstanding Iraqi food. The chicken is always tender and Baba ghanouj and tabouli is the best I’ve ever had. And I’ve been to Greece. My only complaint is the pita bread smells so good and tasty I always eat too much.

This place is better than Kyber Halal. But of course Baiz is número uno. Fattoush, is not toooo far behind Baiz. But not necessarily around the corner either. The biggest offence at Fattoush is no middle eastern soda. And the Backlawa is good, but least best of the 3. The best part is the meat. Their food taste more like home cooking. And it is SOO good. I have been coming here a while now. The lamb Kabob is my fave bc they don’t have a beef kabob. The rice is good. I wish they would put more of that red sauce on it. They give you large portions. Also hummus and this eggplant stuff. Both good. I could probably eat at this rest everyday.

We finally made it down to Fattoush and it was everything I had hoped for. Good food, good service, and good prices. I think we got to sample a little of everything at our table and everything was up to par. Did I mention attentive service? How does this place not have a Unilocal Loves Us sticker on their door?

We came here on a whim, we were out running errands and talking about how we wished we’d gone to this other middle eastern restaurant we love as we drove by Fattoush, and we decided to give it a shot since we were in the area. The prices are reasonable, but the food leaves a bit to be desired. Our server was very pleasant and prompt, she was great. I had the Chicken Shwarma Sandwich and it was delicious, but the lentil soup tasted like chicken stock with mushy Cheerios in it. My friend got the Kafta sandwich with tabouli. I tried his as well, and he was unable to finish it. The tabouli was dry, the sandwich was not very good either. They put pickles on the sandwiches(my friend was a bit horrified by this, I actually looked at the menu and requested none) and the Kafta has some bizarre seasoning on it that just detracts entirely from the taste. I might come back if I’m in the area, but I don’t think my friend will. Also, mango juice. Yum.

The food here is delicious, great portions at great prices, the lunch special chicken shawarma is fantastic. It has been part of my weekly rotation for several months now and I keep forgetting to rate it. The Dolmades are amazing and the baklava is only $ 1.50…it’s a must try

I went there today and had a chicken shawarma, it was really delicious and the hosts are very friendly and nice. Totally recommended for people who are into middle eastern food.

Wish I could say more about this place because I live so close! BUT of the items I’ve had during 2 visits: lentil soup, house salad, feta pita, hummus, baba ganoush, shawarma, tabouli, falafel… ALLMEDIOCRE. Shawarma was not authentic it was a shredded up beef steak. The dips tasted like they could a been from a can. Its inexpensive but disappointing. Prob won’t go back.

I ordered takeout from here once, and doubt that I will be coming back. To begin with, the hummus and baba ghanoush were cold and flavorless. The rice was lukewarm, oily, overcooked, and wet. The meat selection I received was bland, underspiced, overcooked, and room temperature. I will not be ordering again, and would suggest that you not do the same. But who knows? Maybe your experience will be better.

Don’t let the kind of down market feel to the strip mall turn you away. This place is worth a look. I’ve been looking for a place to get good falafel since the Cyprus Grill at Town & Country closed. Since this place got good Unilocal reviews, off we went. Bottom line: I’m still looking for good falafel, but this place is pretty good on other fronts. I had the vegetarian plate. It was loaded with good stuff. The following were very good: grape leaves, hummus, and baba gannouj. These were good: lentil soup, spinach pie. On the disappointing side were the falafel and tabbouleh. Also, the pita bread was store bought and a bit blah. Overall, the food just wasn’t as spiced as I’ve had at other middle-eastern restaurants. Maybe that’s because I’d been to Syrian and Lebanese places and Iranian food is different. I don’t know. Our server was very nice. I’ll come back for the good stuff and continue my falafel search. I’m actually going to try to make it myself.

Very nice atmosphere service was fast and courteous but Far from I had expected. I had lots of Middle Eastern food in the valley but I never had a chicken shawarma sandwich with lettuce on. Overall the garlic sauce was good and the meat was marinated gooood. Like they say you get what you pay for. The $ 5 choose your sandwich with salad lunch special is very inexpensive but I won’t be returning.

This is a great little Middle Eastern Restaurant if you in the mood for a quick fix. Very friendly people, typical atmosphere, and good food. To me the food lacked a bit of spice, it seemed slightly bland, but overall it was good. I ordered the hummus appatizer and kibbie plate, the hummus was a generous portion and wile the cube did come with salad, I felt the price point was slightly high. Throw in the ice tea and tip, I was out of there for slightly under $ 20, but I didn’t leave hungry. I would stop again.

Food was okay(passable) but not great. Lentil soup was bland, chicken shawrma sandwich was just ok; grape leaves were served hot; I’m used to them being served cold; did not really enjoy them much when served hot. We went for lunch and had the place to ourselves. Service was prompt and pleasant. Prices are very reasonable, even cheap; the lunch special was $ 5. Unfortunately, my recommendation would be to pass on Fattoush and find a better place when in the mood for Mediterranean fare. I’ve enjoyed some fabulous dishes in other locals: Pasadena, CA, Abu Dhabi, UAE, Dearborn, MI, and Portland, OR. I plan to keep searching for that hidden gem in the greater Phoenix metro area.

The food here is exceptional as are the prices. This place has my favorite falafel, best lentil soup in Phoenix(rivaled only by Sahara in Tempe), delicious rice and the iced tea is a yummy cardamom black tea blend that makes me happy. The vegetarian combo platter is also delightful, with outstanding hummus and babaganoush. This is not a place you go for atmosphere but if you love good veggie food, you should not miss this place. * Bonus, you can stop by the Middle Eastern Grocery next door and pick up the Sadaf cardamom tea by the box to brew at home.*

You can smell the wonderful food when you get out of your car. I love this place for the food! It’s a small, mom & pop, restaurant where the food is cooked with love! It great for middle-Eastern home cooking like mom’s… Especially, the mansef(mnisef)!!! it’s all good, tasty, well spiced and fresh! the only down side is the location… it’s not on the best side of town. Oh well, can’t have it all! Though, it’s so worth the drive… I go every 2 – 3 weeks. –What to expect? a good Middle-Eastern home cooked meal for a fair price! Save this one in you GPS fav’s!

I’ve had better falafel and better hummus… mashed up chickpeas with no spices. The lentil soup was pretty good. I wish I liked it better because I live really close.

I ordered the mixed grill platter, as did my Unilocal friends Rand, Mike, and Robyn. I found the babaganoush, kafta, and chicken kebab to be very good. The hummus was OK. The gyro slices came only after we reminded them that those were supposed to be part of the platter, and they were greasy and unappealing. I did not care much for the salad that came with the platter. Service was friendly and the food was served promptly. But for the same kind of food — well, actually, more of it and at a lower price, I’d rather go to Babylon Gyros.

Why is it so hard to find some good fried ball of fun, Aka falafel. I rolled on in here with a coworker on our adventure lunch trip for the week. We were relived that we were not the only customers or outsiders when we showed up. We picked the table of our choice and were given the menus a few minutes later. The menu had many vegetarian dishes including a sampler plate, for lunch the prices of the dish items was a bit high $ 8.95. Many of the menu items had recently undergone a crude price charge with a label maker. We waited a bit until they came to take our order. If you read any of my reviews it should be no surprise that I went for the Falafel sandwich. The sandwiches came with either a salad or soup. I oped for the salad, it was a basic mix of ice burg lettuce with diced tomatoes and cucumber dressed with a light balsamic dressing. Our sandwiches arrived after another 10 minutes. During that wait we took in the interesting, whimsical, tacky décor. Floral paintings, painted cornice upon cornice moldings, and a Iraq clock. My falafel sandwich was basic, falafel, lettuce, a picked and tahini. It was decent, the falafel was soft inside and had a good flavor. The size was a bit small considering the $ 5.25 price. The service was a bit slow, and we oped to get up and pay at the register as we could not wait any longer. The food was decent the service and prices were not so only awarded 3 stars.
