Maui Wowi

I went in once and felt like the employee working (curly hair and young) was a bit rude. I had asked where an example of the sizes were and she kind of just pointed off into a corner and said «over there»… So I walked «over there» and did not see anything. Then she just looked at me annoyed that I hadn’t chosen a size. It would’ve been easier had I known what the sizes were. I just picked a random size cause I couldn’t find the examples and she obviously had better things to do than serve a customer. Coffee was okay but the bad attitude isn’t worth another visit.

I never thought to leave a review until now because I’m bored and remembered what a terrible experience I had.

Occasionally we search Unilocal for an artisan coffee bar that we haven’t tried yet. We searched near Wrightwood, and Maui Wowi came up. We thought «5 stars! Let’s go!.» Sadly, we were not as impressed as the other reviewers. Clearly, they’re being influenced by the fact that the owner is a real sweetheart, and they don’t want to say anything negative. Or it’s possible that the smoothies are fantastic. This review is for the lattes, not the smoothies or the regular coffee. My latte was so weak it tasted like coffee flavored milk. Two suggestions if you go: (1) ask to have it made with skim milk rather than the whole milk she uses as a default, and/​or (2) ask for an add shot or two. My wife and daughter ordered the pumpkin and pumpkin-​spiced lattes, and were more satisfied. So I suppose a third suggestion is to order a flavored latte. But in my view, that changes it from an espresso drink to a caffeinated milk & flavoring drink.

I really had a taste for a smoothie and this place hit the spot!!! I ordered a mango orange smoothie and added peach… It was delish!!! I will be back.

After visiting the Forever Wild Animal Park nearby we wanted a good drink and this place did the job, nice gals working there and gave us our drinks within 5 – 10 min, tasted great and the tiki size is about seven bucks if you check in to grab their 10% off promo.

Staff is very nice! The girl taking my drink order was very patient with me as I asked about a million questions. She also noticed that I was getting some studying done and offered to turn the tv off for the noise. That was very nice of her. The drink was very well made and the location is very clean. Will be coming back again when in the area!

Great Customer Service! They are always friendly and welcoming! Great coffee & smoothies! Tastes good, just as good, if better than other bigger named coffee chains!

I had to meet a client here. I was a bit skeptical (not from the are). I was approached by the owner and he treated me really nice! Offered me a free drink and it was the most delicious smoothie I’ve had in a while. Every time I’m meeting with clients in the future I will tell them to meet here.

I’m new to Phelan, and tired of Starbucks outrageous prices so I tried this place out… I had the Banana Mocha it was really good I’ll definitely be going back… can’t wait to try the rest of the drinks on the menu.

I love that I have this place in town. I love the variety and quality of the drinks. I wasn’t impressed with how a few of my drinks were made and commented on it in a post on their Facebook page. The owners are really friendly and fixed my problem. I wish I would have let them know a while ago because I know it’s important for businesses to know this stuff and I planned on it but the fact that they took care of it was very nice and professional. I love their smoothies and coffee drinks. My favorite is their seasonal peach smoothie and you get to add a booster shot like protein, antioxidants, etc. My other favorite is the Cappuccino Honu, it’s got caramel and coconut, my two favorite flavors! They have high quality Ghirardelli flavored sauces and I love how customizable the drinks are. Good service and good quality. I highly recommend this place. Support your local small businesses!

This place is fantastic! The coffee and smoothies are reason enough to go, but this location also offers some amazing fresh-​grilled sandwiches and paninis. With cozy seating, a super-​friendly atmosphere, and free wi-​fi, you’re not going to find a better coffee shop from Phelan to LA. Added bonus: the tikis are a fantastic deal. If you live nearby, definitely grab one in your color of choice. It pays for itself in no time.
