tasty place for lunch and coffee in Downtown Peterborough We like the cappuccinos and whatever their salad of the day is. We like sitting outside on the side porch

Twelve Pine is my go-to place for an easy and delicious lunch in Peterborough. It’s also the scene of some of the sweetest lunches I shared with my grandma, splitting a piece of quiche and a fruit salad, followed by a piece of cheesecake or a scoop of gelato(depending on the season). The food options can be a little expensive, but you get what you pay for. The salads are dense and rich, the soups are creamy and filling. There aren’t often many vegan or vegetarian options, but there’s usually something that can be adjusted for every diet. And there’s ample seating in the sunny space at the end of the building, or outside on a nice day. The marketplace has additional options, from olive oil that you dispense yourself to specialty chocolate, beer and wine, and home goods, perfect for any host gift or other treat.

I have never had a bad dish here, i really enjoy the salads probably the most. The coffees are not as good as AESOPS next door. They have gelato, which is trending now it feels like everyone is pushing gelato these days. Beer selection is fun and enjoyable, the wine selection is also very good but i feel like it is over priced. The people here for the most part are very nice. There are some nicknacks in the front that could be good for a last minute gift idea.

We had a great experience here. The minestrone soup was great. We had panini’s for lunch and they were homemade and served warm. A little pricy, but very enjoyable.

Spend a fortune for NYC pretense in nh… not. Food is imaginative but overpriced and(if it requires reheating) dry and ‘reheated’. Chaotic when busy and dining area is not cleaned well during the day. Save your money and get better quality food in this cute town. Go to aesops, harlows or nonies.

This can be a «through the looking glass» experience. It is a pretty room with gourmet foods, wine, craft beer, and food beautifully displayed. There is also nice food item memorabilia. It is a fun place to browse. But the taste and price can lead to disappointment. Admittedly, they take on a tough mission. Preparing food for serving(and reheating) hours later will contribute to a drop in texture and flavor. Twelve Pine seems to be more focused on tourists than locals. Always plenty of BMW’s with out of state plates.(I think the local folks gravitate elsewhere. And there are a ton of good options nearby. Waterhouse Bakery, Aesops, Harlows) where great sandwiches, baked goods, salads, and specials are prepared when ordered. They are also owned by nice local people with great reputations for treating employees well.) And don’t even think about talking pictures instead Twelve Pine. It will get you in trouble. Really. And of your child gets off leash and touches something… Danny Thibault, the previous owner, really pulled off the mojo needed to make a place like this work.

Pleasantly surprised but this little market in this quaint town in New Hampshire. The service was fast and friendly, plenty of craft beers and wines to choose from. Very clean.

The food is decent; my husband and I really like their tomato and mozz sandwich with chicken. The owner and employees are really rude though. Their sign says that they are open until 7 but I went in with my family at 6:30 and was told that I couldn’t get a sandwich because they had already washed the cutting boards. If you claim to be open until 7 then you should be willing to make food until 7. I used to work at a restaurant and it didn’t matter what we had cleaned or put away, if a customer came before we were closed, we served them. I thought that was common sense.

This upscale former Peterborough Market has a spread of expensive but fresh lunch options, specialty gifts, and gourmet treats. Good spot to find a food-related gift or to pick up a small gourmet treat for yourself. «Market» section — filled with specialty foods/gifts, like Stonewall Kitchen jars, chocolate-covered fruits, teas, wine, and craft beer. Pretty good selection, but ridiculously overpriced.($ 10 for a small jar of spread? $ 7 for a tiny bag of chocolates? I bought one, but wasn’t impressed.) «Food counter» — deli-like case with pasta salads, grilled veggies, and some meats and cheeses. There are self-serve homemade soups, and a few sandwiches order options. Fresh, but on the pricey side for a to-go market($ 7 – 9 for one small sandwich). There are a few tables on the other side of the store. «Coffee and bakery» — coffee is self-serve drip pumps, and worth skipping. We tried cookies and macaroons, and both were good but nothing special. They also offered packaged gluten-free cookies. All in all, a unique market, but more of an overpriced specialty store than a true general store.

We stopped here to meet someone who lived in the area and was pleasantly surprised. It allowed for a meeting that lasted several hours, yet was comfortable, quiet, and relaxing. There is a huge variety of food, and well-done. There’s also a nice shop where all types of food, and other little amenities can be bought. Everyone was friendly, and it had a nice, comfortable, welcoming feel to it.

I loved this place 5 – 10 years ago. They seem to have slipped up in recent times. I bought some skunked beer from their beer/wine section, what a disappointment! Oh, well. Now I know better. The NH liquor store and the nearby Shaw’s can provide fresh products. Also, their prices have increased while the quality has decreased — what happened to the cheap, dense slices of cheesecake I used to buy here(circa 2003)? Sniff. At least I have memories.

Came here for lunch. Staff helped me pick out gluten free options. Friendly and helpful staff. It seems that most places in this area are higher. The food was good but it’s hard to estimate how much you spend because they charge by the weight of each dish.

This is a disorganized business. I was there for lunch on a Sunday. There is one line for ordering food. Then you need to take your slip of paper to a different line to pay unless you wanted coffee then there is a third line. When it come time to pick up your order, sandwiches are in on location and hot food is in another. Once you have your food you can hunt around for where they hide the silverware. The food is at best so-so. I had a tuna melt. It was barely toasted and the inside was cold. My brother in law had a Rubin which seemed quite skimpy to me. My wife had some meatloaf. The serving was generous but it had been heated in a microwave and was hot around the edges and cool in the middle. Lastly, the dining area was not well kept, dirty tables etc. with an overflowing stack of dishes on the garbage cans. I’m sure there is a better place for lunch in Peterborough

My friends and I ended up here after it was the only place open at 3pm on a Sunday. We were desperate for some food after a hike. Our group got sandwiches, soups and some tea. The service for the sandwiches was pretty slow but they were tasty. Friends said that the soup was good. The café seating area is very nice with large windows. I’d come here again.

Typical Peterborough restaurant, overpriced. This is a cool place and has some neat items but the food is so expensive and is «okay» at best. Everything is charged by the LB and although things like the salad looks good on display, don’t be fooled, all the good stuff is on top and when the serve it you will end up getting a sliver of chicken and a LB of lettuce soaked in dressing. The owner is a complete ass to all of the employees and has no problem yelling at them in front of customers! I have been there twice when this was happening and it’s pretty embarrassing for the high school kids working there, this guy literally cries over spilt milk, or should I say screams! Bottom line, chose something else unless you don’t mind over priced mediocre food.

This place has a small café style seating area where you order food at the counter(which also features many types of prepared foods and baked goods). Got an Italian soda and shared a bag of cookies. They also sell wine and other goodies. There are only 2 single unisex restrooms, so there was frequently a short line during a recent busy Saturday. All in all, a nice place to stop in for a quick break. I wouldn’t choose here if you are a large group or need more space. It is situated in the middle of a cute«Depot Square area» which basically features several little shops and parking.

There are many great places to eat in Peterborough. Twelve Pine is NOT one of them. The owner is a jerk, the food is overpriced and poor quality. I live in Peterborough and do not know one local person who eats or shops there — it’s strictly for tourists who don’t know any better. I used to work there years ago when I was in high school — I quit after a few months because the owner was so nasty to everyone, and I felt bad serving such terrible food and charging an arm and leg for it. It’s unfortunate to have such a terrible restaurant in such a gorgeous building and location right in the middle of all the great Depot Square shops. Tourism is important to our local economy(did I mention the owner lives in New York?!) and I hope that tourists do not negatively judge our town by the terrible service and quality of Twelve Pine. If you want a great meal and a ‘real’ Peterborough experience, go to Harlow’s or the Waterhouse, right around the corner. Marzano’s is pretty good too. Bagel Mill and Pearl are great places to eat, although they’re a short drive away. Do yourselves a favor and eat anywhere but Twelve Pine. Oh, and their chicken burritos? They are literally just sour cream, cheese and chicken, rolled in a tortilla and deep fried. Easily 2,000 calories right there, not to mention the fat content. Great for clogging your arteries!

No thanks. Sandwich was soggy & everything was waaaaaay over priced & very slow service. Packaged cookies were good. Husband got a sm salami & a hunk of gouda — no plates or knives cuz it’s not ‘meal items’ — where can I get some napkins? Oh we bought a bottle a cold specialty beer & were then told you can’t drink alcohol in here. Waste of my Memorial Day lunch time.

What can I say, I love this place! While others have said it is overpriced… and they may be more on the right side as opposed to the wrong side… I do not think it is outrageously overpriced. Sandwiches run about $ 8…but…without a side… I think that is what makes it a bit that way. Oh…but those sandwiches! The first time I ate at Twelve Pine, I had a fantastic experience! The sandwich I got was with Smoked Turkey, Smoked Cheddar, Apples, Spinach, Candied Walnuts and Maple Mustard on a Multi-Grain bread, all grilled Panini style. WOW! What a sandwich… it was quite good. At the time, I stated in my journal that this was the best sandwich I had ever had! And… I still believe that! Unfortunately, when I went back, that sandwich was not part of the menu(as their menu is updated often). But, I had a great Italian sandwich with different cured meats, cheese, some peppers and a bit of balsamic /olive oil on it. Another VERY yummy sandwich. Finally, I got some of their Jambalaya to take to work for lunch… and it was scrumptious as well. One small thing on the Jambalaya… wish it had more shrimp in it… but…that is personal preference Highly recommend…
