Haven’t been here in a long time. Took family visiting from Los Angeles for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Still as good as I’d remember. Place was pretty packed but only had to wait 5 mins. Great service with a friendly waitress. We all had something different and everything was great. The biscuits & gravy was the big hit. Loved it.

A fun idea and decent food. We are here on a Sunday morning and they need another waiter or two. I would like to see some more creativity in the menu as well.

This is our favorite breakfast place! Great food, generous portions, great service and a beautiful view of the Petaluma hills. Great place to bring visitors. Our waitress today is Alda, she is awesome! Their blueberry coffee cake is amazing and could be illegal in some states!

Walked in at 9:15 was instantly greeted and told I could sit where ever I would like. The place already had a few customers and was filled with laughter. The smiling server came by and gave me a menu and took my drink order. She was walking and checking on tables, cleaning and was being very social. Really nice to see in this day and age, she had great customer service skills! I should of gotten her name. She came back and to my surprise she allowed me to order lunch. The burger just sounded so good and she said absolutely. My order came out quickly and my burger was cooked exactly how I wanted it. It was excellent with flavor and not burnt. Thanks to the cook for that! As I looked around people were genuinely having a great time in there. There is lots of planes flying in and out. This would be an excellent spot for kids they would love it! So exciting! Food and Service was great! Would definitely eat here again! I haven’t been here in years and I think now I will need to change that! Small Town feeling with the expected service!

It’s a diner. Popular with locals and visiting pilots. Decent food for a diner but never exciting. Overlooking the airport with an outdoor patio. Decent prices. Quality has been uniform over the years.

I good this little diner in my hood. Simple food – truly diner style – served promptly and with perfect Small town friendliness. Hot water instead of coffee? No problem. Can I have the special but no bacon? Sure! Sit anywhere – even the cozy four-top? Yep! Really – it’s just a delight everyone. Shout out to my server today Alda!

This is a fun place to go eat and watch the planes take off and land. The last time I went there was a acrobatic vintage place skywriting. It was too cool Now about the food I had I ordered Steak and eggs. I ordered it medium-rare and it was just right, eggs overeasy was perfect not runny like some restaurants. The prices are reasonable too.

The Whirlybird breakfast burrito is totally boss! The airplane ambiance is highly enjoyable as well. Definitely worth a trip on over to the historic Petaluma airport!

This is our go to spot for breakfast. It’s a three minute walk from our house and we always enjoy the food. A couple of things they do that sets them apart; they are very good about splitting plates if you request it, they give the kids drinks in a paper cup with a lid and straw(which helps prevent spills) and they will make you a Joe’s Special even when it is not on the menu. Great friendly service from all of the staff that seems pretty consistent. We’ve been going for over a year now and all the wait staff has remained the same. A few favorites are the Joe’s Special, Eggs Benedict and I love the blueberry coffee served with your breakfast.

A hidden gem for sure. We took a few Daisy Scouts here to have a late lunch and watch the plans. Owner Dan could not have been more hospitable. A fellow scout himself, he showed us around and gave a great narrated tour. After the tour, we all sat outside on the beautiful deck watching the planes and pilots do their thing. The lunch here was great — a REAL hamburger(as opposed to a frozen costcoburger), and had blue cheese to boot! The staff was most helpful and attentive. It appears the staffing issues referred to in prior Unilocal reviews has been resolved. And as for Tom H. review about Dan’s statements about Obama — I don’t believe that for a minute and find that rather slanderous. If I knew how to flag that post for Unilocal I would. Upshot — I’d absolutely recommend the Two Niner Diner. Great spot to have lunch and watch planes with or without the kiddos! If I lived closer, I’d be here for breakfast on a regular basis.

Ok so we live pretty close to the airport and this place is just AWESOME! We have only lived in Petaluma 3 months and this was one of the first places we tried for breakfast, it was instant love. The staff is so friendly, you kind of feel like you are with family when you eat here. My kids always get the Polish Scramble(not sure if thats the exact name), I have tried several things but have been getting the BLT’s lately, so good. If you want to eat at a basic diner, by an airport, with cool décor this is it… the food is not fancy but its fresh and yummy! OH and get the blueberry coffeecake, it like no other… get it and enjoy the beauty of the Sonoma Mountains and cool airplanes while you eat.

Friendliest staff ever. They make you feel right at home! So chill and welcoming. Make sure you get a seat outside(if the weather allows!) You can watch the planes come in, as this restaurant is right off the runway. Cool location. Food was yummy! You can’t go wrong. Scrambles are delicious. We were told that we had to try the blueberry coffee cake, and it did not disappoint… hence, I pass on that bit of advice– GETTHECOFFEECAKE. Definitely making this spot a go-to!

Owner was very rude. Accused the waitresses of giving us free drinks when in fact they were just bringing us what we had ordered. Thought we had«stayed too long» when in fact we were just paying the bill. Took drinks that people were still drinking and then refused to refill our water and told us to leave. Horrible ownership. The old guy that runs it should be ashamed of himself that he treats people with that bad of service. Not going back that’s forsure! Waitresses were great and very funny that was about the only bright spot. Id give this 0 stars if I could.

The owner initiated a conversation with me at the counter yesterday… out of the blue, he asked, «do you see that red-headed guy sitting in the back booth? He’s with Homeland Security. Tell him next time he sees Obama, TAKEHIMOUT… kill him»! I was appalled and said what a horrible thing to say! I will never frequent this diner again, nor should anyone else!

Excellent breakfast — good prices with good portions… Come hungry! Visit#2 Lunch at the two-niner today — California chicken sandwich was delicious with just the right amount of avocado. French fries are steak cut and excellent. My husband ordered the special«rodeo burger» which had a lovely hickory smoked BBQ sauce on it. Overall another excellent meal!

They say there are more planes in the sea, than there are submarines in the sky. Than being said, Two Niner Diner is still flying high in my book!!! This is a very cool spot… I recently took a friend here for a mid week breakfast. This was my second time giving it a try, and my friend’s first time. My friend, and I both had a good, fun, and relaxing breakfast. Our server was brand new, so his service was kinda shabby. I had to get up, and ask for a coffee refill, while he and the cute young gal b.s.‘d. Not a major deal killer, but there is some room for improvement there. Also, my friend and I really enjoyed the interior with all the model planes. But when my friend asked about a plane, the staff had no idea, or any knowledge of any of any of the plane models. I’d say a nice improvement would be if there could be a list of what the planes are, with photos. That way the wait staff really doesn’t need to memorize, or learn anything about the planes, but customers could get some knowledge, and insight about the model planes while they wait for the food etc. It would make for an even more enjoyable time! Never the less this place is really awesome! I love the vintage plane décor, checkered floor, and great vintage diner feel!!! I love the old music they play too. And besides the awesome atmosphere, I really enjoyed the food. I drink my coffee black, and the coffee here is your typical run of the mill. Good ‘ol cup o’ joe. I ordered the eggs Benedict, and it was good, and tasty. But also, your typical run of the mill. Nothing too fancy, etc. But it was really good none the less. The cost is reasonable, I think I paid about $ 12 for the eggs Benedict, and about $ 2 or $ 2.50 for the coffee. So it wasn’t too expensive. I wish my Dad was still alive so I could take him here for breakfast on Father’s day! Its definitely a spot you’d want to take your Dad for his birthday, or Father’s day…

I did not expect to have such a pleasant meal here. Our server was young but very accommodating and sweet. Let us sit wherever we wanted(we wanted outside). Tucker had the pulled pork special, our friend the shrimp Louie, I had a very tasty club with fries. Beer and champagne very reasonably priced. We were all dumb city slickers and had to ask what an orange flip was(it’s orange ice cream with sprite). We sat outside and enjoyed the smell of country and nature(it sorta smelled like manure and possibly gas) then we flew back home. Nice place to stop on your flying excursion.
