This Safeway is very large which is great. I also enjoy that they have tons of local items marked clearly. I’m a fan of their bulk bins as well. The not so great is this place is always crowded! No matter which I come it’s crazy! The other complaint is the lines are out of this world. It seriously takes a good 5 – 10 minutes to be checked out.

It takes a ridiculous amount of time to check out here. They need to add more cashiers. I’ve started doing my weekly shopping at Raleys instead.

A typical safeway store that can get really iffy at night time in the parking lot and bathroom/café area. This safeway is open 24 hours a day, and because of that, they tend to have a lot of homeless people pan handling at the entrance/exit. They also tend to hang around the seating area near the bathroom where people can go and buy the hot foods and sandwiches. The parking lot acts as a hang out for questionable people in questionable cars at night time mostly. The prices are average, nothing special. I usually come here if I have forgotten an ingredient, or if I didn’t have time to pick up dinner and it is past 11 p. m when the other grocery stores I frequent are closed. So, the positive things include the bakery section. Good prices on slices of cakes and goodies. I cannot eat dairy, and for some reason I can eat a fair amount of the slices of cakes offered, which are always delicious and never give me a stomach ache. So if you have a late night craving for some yummy cakes or pastries, this is a good place to get it from. The place is always clean and well stocked. The employees for the most part are polite. There truly isn’t much else to say about this place. I would try avoiding the place at night time after 10 p. m, or you may run into some unsavory people inside or outside.

I have done multiple weekend trips to this area and this is the usual place we stop. It is conveniently located right off the highway and familiar which is nice when you are away from home.

.My Fiancée went shopping for me because he is such a wonderful person that he is wanting me not to post and give the guy some slack and I thought about it and was ready to change my mind because it’s Christmas and my fiancée said with it being Christmas the store’s are packed and people are all just tired of fighting through the Holiday shoppers but then he told me it was he and one others person which he overlooked by mistake to ask the man at the deli a question and the man jumped all over him and being the gentleman my fiancé is… he let it go and apologized and the worker was still very snotty to him. People like this person shouldn’t’be in customer service so because of this deli worker which was a male should be put stocking so he doesn’t deal with the public and besides the store having outrageous pricing so we customers can pay for the new and not improved store I give 2 stars but five stars for the pharmacy! The pharmacy is the only part of the new store is an improvement!

Great Safeway! Great seafood and meat counter. The only thing that pisses me off are the travelers outside begging.

Their food choices are varied and most are above average. Their Chicken Strips are the best in town! Real Chicken breast meat breaded and fried to perfection. Always ask for fresh though, you don’t want what sits under the lights for any time. They should be crunchy on the outside. Always moist and tender on the inside. Better than Raley’s Chicken Strips!!! Even though the store is open 24/7, the deli area closes at 7pm.

This review is for the Bakery. We almost always get our Birthday cakes from the Safeway Bakery. They are ready on time, look and taste great and the price is reasonable. People are always impressed and ask me where I got the cake!

Left after standing there for literally 15mins without any service… Went in here earlier today to grab a sandwich before work cause safeway deli sandwiches are ALWAYS good. BUT never ever will I go here for a sandwich. 2 ladies workin behind the counter as I stand there for about a couple minutes without either of them making eye contact with me I then proceed to say«excuse me?» And one of the ladies says«oh I’ll be with you as soon as I can» and then proceeds to come out with a cart for food and then starts taking the sand which topping pans out of the bar! Right in front of me!!! She didn’t say a word so after I stand there for ANOTHER5 minutes while the other lady is helping PLENTY of other people with the fried food and I’m still standing there waiting for service!!! Eff this place and that RUDE lady for giving AWFUL customer service.

We like to shop a number of different grochery stores in Petaluma. Several of them have better prices on individual items. But Safeway has the best selection and reasonable prices overall. So we find ourselves coming back at least once or twice a month. And overall it’s a nice clean store with helpful staff.

I shop at this store at least twice a week for a family of six. They never seam to have enough checker or baggers. I know that the prices we pay are set with the cost of employes. So why do I have to bag my own groceries? I was there last night at 7:00P.M. And they only had two checkout lines open with very long lines in both. At the same time they had 3 employees cleaning up one box of spilled spaghetti noodles. The employes that work there are very nice and helpful. But the mangers need to do a much better job of scheduling them.

This is a busy Safeway, but clean and well stocked. The staff are friendly. They also have little scooters available if you need them, and there is a Starbucks inside.

Nice store. Gotta shop smart to get decent deals. The problem is it takes FOREVER to check out here. Every time. It’s ridiculous.

The manager of the floral department is AMAZING!!! Her name is Jen, and for the last 3 years she has been creating beautiful arrangements for me. Would highly recommend her if you’re looking for something special for around the house or an event.

What else could you ask for? People’s reviews of a store that can feed them and complain are just lame. The store has it all to offer. Great deli It has a Starbucks inside Meat is perfect. The staff is great. Mercedes is a super helper. She is on top of it helping you out of the store. It makes a huge difference.

I would not have thought to leave a review for Safeway at all, but it is starting to sock so bad I had to say something. It is a problem for businesses that only get negative reviews because no one ever thinks to leave something positive and maybe it’s not just me and others feel the change after the move to Mervyns. 1. Store is a maze. I see others stumbling around like zombies after a long day and wonder if they are also afraid to navigate the produce section. The new layout is a TRAINWRECK. Ted Cruz keeps saying that word and I like the impact it has. Seriously, the layout is like a train of nice isles were in an accident. I would like to take exception to the pharmacy design and health isles and lighting. If I were ever to head to Safeway to buy bandages or a cream, it really is pleasant. 2. Products are limited. Seriously, no fresh broccoli today? Lots of normal vegetables missing and others are 3 – 5 dollars a pound! I eat a lot of veggies and paying 249EVER for zucchini hurts. Clover products are disappearing and I see a lot of this or that on the shelves(This name-brand corn oil or Safeway Corn Oil). 3. More training, management and better working conditions including more staff on the floor, better pay and lots of training and supervision to keep the quality of staff. Today my groceries were dumped in the cart and several of the plastic bags were already ripped. Almost everything was loose so it went into the car in a pile in the trunk. Note to self: keep the reusable shopping bags in the car. 4. Just for everyone else but U: Check your receipt and go to customer service to get it resolved. I am big on coupons and can load up my card with my handheld and do so. I sync and check the list before I go into the store. Lately, I cannot sync in the store on their free Wi-Fi. I can turn off Wi-Fi and then it works on 4G. So when I did not get my 70 cent/gallon discount, I was not happy. 5. The good: meat counter products are pretty good as is the service. Just ask and if they have it, they will get it to you just the way you want it. The deli counter has pretty good generic cole slaw. The cheese selections are better than the past. The floral department is an island of sanity. Bakery is very good and affordable. Boston cream pies, cream puffs, bagels and even powdered, raspberry filled doughnuts are wonderful, but tray of cookies for five bucks is a welcome thing for my teenagers. Prices: Almost everything is less expensive anywhere. I don’t have the spare cash to shop recklessly. My teenagers have friends so I can not afford to buy pounds of deli roast beast at any price So… I have a bad experience every time I shop I want the Just for U stuff to work and it would be worth fighting a minotaur in the produce section to get such mythical savings. I used to really like Safeway and I know there are some awesome staff there so I will probably go back, but I will check my receipt before leaving. I feel like giving zero stars due to my last experience, but to be honest, I did find some good in that new location.

It has everything you need most of the time. I mean its a Safeway you know what to expect. When was the last time a Safeway blew your mind in a positive way? Exactly!

Update: They transferred the best manager they ever had in that store to another store in Sonoma County. I’m sad this happened. The store’s vibe from the workers and even the customers is completely different. The place has done downhill ever since. I still like shopping there, but it’s nothing I look forward to as I used to.

DONOTBUYFLOWERSHERE! I bought flowers on Valentine’s day here. They never bloomed, just fell over and wilted. They look like crap. Incredibly disappointing. Not romantic at all.
