When you first walk inside, you order off the menu board and get a number. You seat yourself, get your own drinks, and food is brought to your table. The portion sizes are huge. The food tastes okay but a good amount of it is pre made and packaged goods. The salmon was an exact square and almost tasteless without the sauce. Fresh ingredients would go a long way. The prices here are high for a self service restaurant with pre made food. The atmosphere is like a country theme with modern art. Being from Austin, TX, I get what they’re attempting. It’s just not being executed very well. In an area with limited options outside of disgusting drive-thru fast food chains, it’s a welcome addition. They just need to upgrade the food.

I would recommend the margarita pizza! Simple yet delicious! Parking could get a little difficult depending on the day and time you decide to dine. The parking lot behind the restaurant is very tight! If you drive a larger vehicle, you’re better off finding street parking.

Not from the area, so without knowing exactly what to expect, we gave it a try. We split a pizza, sandwich and salad and it was all delicious! The atmosphere is great and all the people working there were friendly and attentive!

3 stars… This is my second visit, but I was given a gift card so I decided to come back… I have tried the Hawaiian, BBQ, and now the Quattro carni, and all were very tasty! Thin cracker crust pizza fired in a wood oven… We stuck around for something sweet and ordered the Nutella s’mores dessert pizza. It was definitely sweet, but lacked Nutella flavor, and the only true hint of s’mores flavor came when biting into a charred marshmallow. Additionally it had a cinnamon flavor that I could not get past as it is not a traditional smores flavor component. The true test is a repeat request, and I just would not order it again. The menu offers a list of warm and rich desserts with no ice cream options, which in my opinion is blasphemy! Craft draft beers are available as well as a small selection of wines by the glass to wet the whistle… Prices are higher than expected, and ambiance is stable crossed with a trendy art studio. This place does not make the list…

Giving one star to Sugar greatly saddens me but it is what they truly deserve. After visiting a little over a month ago on a busy Saturday night, the food was wonderful but the service was slow. I have been back twice since — both ending horribly. The most recent visit was today(Sunday, 12⁄27). We ordered the stuffed artisan bread, a side of Mac-n-cheese, and an order of the sweet chili chicken wings($ 25). The bread came out burnt — not charred but burnt black giving the bread a very bitter taste. The Mac-n-cheese had good flavor but was barely warm. The top of it was down right cold. However, this compared nothing to the chicken wings. My partner bit into a drumstick portion of a wing where he was met with red/pink meat. Immediately disgusted, I brought it to the attention of the lady at the front register. I told her of what happened and asked if they could cook it throughly if it wasn’t against the health code. She apologized and said they could. While delivering the dish of undercooked wings, a second lady approached me and prompted to lecture me on how they cook the wings for forty minutes before, and only heat the wings up when ordered so there is no way our wings were undercooked. I was utterly taken aback from her rudeness and offered for her to see the disgusting undercooked wing at our table. She refused. A few minutes later, one of the cooks brought the freshly heated(and hopefully cooked properly) wings to our table where he accidentally spilled scorching sauce all over my arm, shirt, and pants. Either he didn’t notice or care when I Unilocaled from the shock and somewhat pain from the sauce because he didn’t even acknowledge his slip. Food was terrible, undercooked, and not heated to a proper and welcoming temperature. Half the staff was rude, and I’m now out a shirt and a pair of pants without even an apology. Go somewhere else and spend your money. The hype on this place will hopefully die down eventually.

I’ll start by saying that Sugar has been a great addition to Peoria’s restaurant landscape and to the warehouse district. With that said, they need to work on quality control. We had lunch there and many of us ordered the same pizzas. Of the three pepperoni pizzas: one was swimming in cheese and oil, lacking in sauce, and was undercooked; one was overcooked; and one was just right — perfectly cooked and perfect balance of cheese and sauce. Of the two margarita pizzas, both were drowning in oil(and cloth napkins are great, but would’ve loved to have paper napkins to soak up excess oil). I feel like with a greater focus on quality control, Sugar would be a go-to choice for us when we’re out to eat.

Excellent wood fired pizza and heavenly desserts. My favorite is the Quattro Carni, the all meat pizza. Pizza comes out with perfectly crisp crust with the right amount of char. Bonus points for having Sriracha at the tables. Service is order and sit. Reminds me of the U.K. Place your order upon entry, get a number card and wait to have your food brought out to your table. The wait is not long even on a busy day. I’ve never been here for dinner, but the prospect of having to get up to go order a beer refill seems like it would be a drag. Parking can be an ordeal… arrive early. There are a handful of spots behind the building and a few cherry spots in front, but otherwise a plan on possibly parking 1 – 3 blocks away and walking. Prices are higher than average, but make up for it in tastiness and quality. One pizza, a dessert, and an ice tea cost me $ 20 for a lunch. Love this place, and the only reason I don’t come here weekly is because I tend to eat too much when I do go.

One of the best non-chain places to eat in the city(without spending a fortune) When people visit from out of town, this is where we take them for a friendly meal.

My parents, husband, and I often love very different types of food, and we were so excited to discover Sugar Wood Fired Bistro! The four of us love pizza, and we all agreed that this place was delicious. We came here for lunch on Saturday, and the place was busy. The outside patio was completely covered(with plastic walls and ceiling) as the weather was already turning cooler, which provided extra, warm seating. Orders are placed at the front register, and I was a little bit underwhelmed when it took an associate some time to help us and take our order. Our orders were also incorrect, as we received the Quattro Carni instead of the Creamy Garlic Arugula. Though I wanted to complain, my husband said that he was too hungry — and the pizza was too good — for him to exchange a perfectly good pizza for another one. Outside of a bit of ordering frustration, the pizza was amazing and delivered very quickly. I look forward to returning to this restaurant next time I’m visiting Peoria!

This was a very good wood fired pizza place. We had the mushroom pizza and the Quattro forni(4 meat). Little man had the pepperoni. All three were amazing. Very fresh and crispy. Amazing tastes and a great atmosphere. Kid friendly as they had items on the menu and did have high chairs for them. Serve yourself drinks and order at the counter and pay. They bring the food out to your table with a number. A big plus is the tables also had cholula hot sauce and real Sriracha. Highly recommended.

Love it, Amazing wood fired pizza and pastas. we went here for dinner. You order as you walk in and the food comes to you(so its not fine dinning) nice seating and ambience(little party like). Service friendly — The guys who greeted us was super friendly. The Food tasted fantastic. we got the chicken pesto pizza(special), margarita pizza, stuffed Mushroom with quinoa and veggie lasagna. I must says every thing was amazing, fresh tasting, except the margarita pizza which I felt less flavored and too plain. Stuffed mushrooms– being a mushroom fan, this was ideal for me. I would recommend this place.

First visit, I wish I could give it a 4 and ½ stars. The pizza is 5 stars for sure. I grew up on the east coast and know good pizza. Crust is excellent, ingredients are fresh, flavor is awesome. I had the magharita and my hubby had the buffalo chicken both were very good. My only complaint was being our first time when we walked in I stepped up to the register and said hi it’s our first time looking forward to this the gal behind the register said«you need to get in the other line to order«no hello no glad you came no let me explain how to order. If they were very busy I could see the unfriendly push off but there was no one else in line and only 3 people sitting in the whole place. First impressions do count if the pizza hadn’t been great it would have been our first and last visit. But that alone is worth going back for.

Wow what a find! When traveling I look to Unilocalers to directs to a fun place for food drink or entertainment. Sugar Bistro doesn’t disappoint. Friendly service. Fair prices. And really good good. How can you beat that! I had the side house salad, marguerita pizza gluten free, and a beer. Deliver fast. Fresh. The pizza was piping hot. And the beer was ice cold. I like ordering from the counter too. Bön appetit!

I had the Parmesan Chicken pizza and it was amazing! Perfect thin, crispy crust. Wonderfully flavored chicken, and the cheese is melted to perfection. I saw someone else with the Buffalo Chicken pizza & it looked fabulous — that will be the pizza I try next time. I LOVE chicken on pizza so this place is a delight to me because their menu offers a variety of chicken pizzas. I Split the Mac n Cheese as an appetizer & it was very, very good. Food is great quality & you can tell a lot of culinary thought went into each dish, pizza, wrap, & sandwich(I’ve had a few sandwiches & tasted some wraps of those in my party but I don’t want to make this review any longer than it already is, lol). Definitely, definitely recommended this restaurant when it comes to the food. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because of how you order. You order right at the door! It’s stressful, crowded — if you come at a busy time — and a little tacky for the kind of food & hip environment it offers. I don’t know who thought up that flow, but I don’t enjoy it at all. Also, you serve yourself soda & have to go up to the counter every time you want to add something extra, need a change in something, or want a beer. It’s just a chaotic set up in my opinion. Regardless of this — you would definitely be missing out if you don’t try this place. It’s quite the Peoria eatery!

The website is hip, the décor is cute, simple, retro, & non-pretentious. Pizzas are priced at $ 10.75/ea(no, they are not large shareable pizzas like Papa Johns), salads start at that price, & the sandwiches are also in that general ballpark. It is a great place to hang out — casual environment, beer & wine available, & yes, yummy desserts. Overall, it was GOOD. Solid, in fact. However, if I am paying $ 10.75 for a personal pepperoni pizza(hey, nothing wrong with a classic!), I would expect there to be something special that would leave me wanting to come back again. Soon even.

Was very pleasantly surprised by this place! I picked it off of Unilocal because it seemed pretty casual. I got my salmon to go, but the atmosphere seems so cool and friendly, I can’t wait to go back and actually eat at the restaurant. Food was on time for my pickup.

Unbelievable food. I got the Cubano sandwich and it was one of the best I’ve had. And I’ve had a lot. The atmosphere is a little loud, so I would suggest sitting outside if you want to talk with friends. I would recommend this place to anyone!

When I asked for pizza, I was recommend to Sugar. From the moment you walk in you can see the wood fire stove heating up a sorts of pizza. The restaurant had a modern feel to it along with a friendly vibe. Seating wasn’t a long wait on a Friday night which is always a plus. I ordered a BBQ chicken pizza along with a side salad for dinner and felt the food was overpriced for what was served. The pizza came out hot and fresh but thought that it was too cheesy and when eating the pizza felt the soft consistency of the dough mixed with the BBQ sauce and too much cheese felt too chewy for my preference. Although I felt the pizza was about average, for the price I would have expected better. The salad on the other hand was good and tasted fresh however it was tiny. For about $ 4 the salad was consumed very quickly and overall just thought it was way too small for the price.
