Had the corn beef benedict the horseradish was delicious. The seasonal pancakes didnt even need syrup. Coffee was very good not too hot either. Very long wait the parking cramped and had holes but food was terrific.

This is the second Ruby Slipper I’ve been to. The wait can be VERY long on weekends, but it’s worth it. The cheesecake filled French Toast was to die for and the Costa Rican was delicious. I’ll be creating my own Costa Rican meal in my own kitchen(it was that good) so I can have it all the time. The Bellini was awesome — just the right blend of everything. When I went to the location in NOLA, the mimosa was awesome BUT this bellini topped it. The one thing I was a bit bothered by was the text/call for your table. I was right outside the restaurant, but my service was on and off. I didn’t get the texts they send — but got the call. Luckily I realized it was them calling! When we got inside, my name was off the list BUT they just added us back on and sat us anyway. It was nice of them, but they probably should wait more than 30 seconds before kicking you off the waitlist. I advise to go here for a date, it’s noisy, but cozy! I definitely liked the feel of the one in Mid-City NOLA more, but we’re planning a trip back to here ASAP!

The food was excellent! I had the eggs Cochon and they were amazing with their pepper jack grits. The 19 hole was a great breakfast drink and my wife had the French toast batons and a mimosa. We ended up splitting my plate and saving the French toast for later! We will definitely come back when we are in town

Came here because it was so highly rated. The food was amazing. We had stuffed french toast, french toast batons, sausage and specialty coffees. It was all excellent. Our waiter was very good. Tables are all very close and I felt like the people on either side of us were able to hear everything we talked about.

I’ve been looking for brunch in Pensacola outside of Sunday’s and found this gem. The service, food and atmosphere was amazing. The food was unique, fresh and satisfying. I will definitely be coming back!

Great start with our server, Alicia. Coffee was excellent as well as our food. Many many choices made it difficult to decide, however they had a split Benedict that allowed me to try two different items. A good reason to come back is for items not on the menu.

This is the best meal I had in Pensacola! I wish that we had this for a brunch option in Atlanta, actually I don’t because I would eat it once a week and that would NOT be good. The mimosas are huge! I like champagne with a splash of OJ and that is what these are. They are $ 10 but 2 of them are about all you need, trust me. Everyone in my group ordered eggs Benedict with fried chicken. It was beyond good!

Very impressed. It’s worth the wait and believe me, you’ll be waiting. Everything was delicious. Go and then go again. You’ll be upset you didn’t go sooner.

Pretty fantastic place. I’m baffled they’re advertising on Unilocal because every time I’ve been there they’re absolutely slammed(because they’re delicious and fantastic, not because they’re slow). Anyway. Been here three times in two visits to Pensacola. Because it’s that good. First time the special was that you could get eggs benny two different ways of the menu choices instead of just one — — which was awesome because there were so many good looking choices. Also had the Costa Rican, which I highly recommend. Plantain chips aren’t as good in my opinion as straight up fried Plantain, but still very delicious. Oh, but it’s worth mentioning you don’t get a biscuit, cause it has rice. Get a visit on the side anyway. Because… BISCUITS. They are SO delicious. As big as your face. Well, almost. But enormous and wonderful, and fluffy as can be. Don’t miss out on the biscuits. Only downside is how popular they are on weekends and how long the wait can be. Definitely check in asap on open table or whatever line joining app they’re on when you decide to go. You’ll probably still end up waiting a while. but, hell, it’ll be worth it.

Updated look to this place. I don’t remember what was in this location before it became the Ruby Slipper, but when I lived in Pensacola, I don’t think I came in here. The menu offers a lot of great choices. I like a big breakfast and there were several options here that were appealing to me. Usually I know what I’m in the mood for, but the menu had me pondering for a bit. Big food. HUGE biscuit. I got the omelette with cheese and shrimp. It was a lot of food. We hit the road back home to Indiana right after this. I took 75% of the biscuit with me. Wish I would have had the cane sugar syrup to dip it in. Service is great. Plenty of coffee refills. OBLIGATORYSYRUPSNOBMENTION: My son only eats maple syrup, not the corn syrup. While Ruby Slipper did not have maple syrup, they had cane sugar syrup, which was amazing. Just wanted to mention that option.

For my 300th review(yay!) I thought of The Ruby Slipper Café for a couple reasons. For starters, it was my most recent 5 star experience that came to mind and I could totally go for one of their Bennies right now. More importantly, this experience took place on my trip to visit our good friends in Pensacola, which was a fantastic trip that of course included sun and the beach. As I look out my window at this Chicagoland snow, I would definitely love to be snapped back to brunch at The Ruby Slipper right now. Unfamiliar with the area, I of course used my trusty Unilocal app to guide my husband and I to a delicious brunch spot [insert The Ruby Slipper]. As always, the excellent reviews I read were on point. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left the staff was nothing but friendly, generous, and helpful, and our experience was one to remember. On a Tuesday morning about 10 am there was a small crowd, but plenty of open seats. The menu is pretty Southern inspired, but they truly offer everything I could ask for in a brunch menu. To drink, I started with their Irish cream coffee and it was made to perfection and served in a cute clear glass mug. They also offer mimosas, bellinis, bloody maries and couple other morning libations. Choosing what to eat was rough, because everything sounded so delicious. I finally decided to go with the chicken St. Charles benedict, because well, it’s vacation and fried food is allowed. This beauty includes a fried chicken breast served on a buttermilk biscuit, topped with a poached egg, and finished with a pork tasso cream sauce(x2). AH-MAZE-ING. Totally hit the spot! That fried chicken was nothing like what I expected. To be honest, I felt guilt free! The chicken itself was so juicy, and the skin was not greasy at all. Maybe it was more of a corn meal breading? Whatever it is, it’s damn good(and only $ 13!). Hubbie got the eggs cochon benedict(also $ 13) which also looked amazing. Slow-cooked, apple-braised pork debris served over an open-faced housemade buttermilk biscuit, topped with two poached eggs, and finished with hollandaise. This is apparently one of their signature dishes and I can see why. Our server was so helpful and checked in on us the perfect amount. He even helped give us directions to the closest barber so my husband could pay them a quick visit. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend grabbing brunch at the Ruby Slipper. You won’t be disappointed! P. S. They have 4 other locations in Louisiana!

We have been here more times then I can count on my two hands. Our waiter and who seems to be the manager or owner already seems to recognize us from our many visits. The atmosphere here is so lively and warm that you kind of feel at home. Our visits have never been less then perfect. Every waiter was kind and welcoming. The food has always been beautifully dished as If it was an art of theirs. And the flavors ate always so full and tasteful all the way down to the last bite. I ordered their special on Benedicts today, it’s called the Creo. If you love gumbo then you would absolutely love this dish. The gumbo was beautifully seasoned and the sausages were perfectly cooked. It is a definite must have while it’s around for the mardi gras holiday. For desert we ordered the amazing strawberry and chocolate cheese cake stuffed french toast. If you have a sweet tooth this will be more than satisfying. Cream cheese with chocolate chips between two marshmallow soft french toast sitting on strawberry and chocolate compote. Topped off with whipped cream. Absolute perfection.

Amazing food, happy every time I come here. The wait varies, but I’ve never waited over 30 minutes. My husband absolutely love their banana foster French toasts and eggs Benedict.

A great experience. If you are a lover of all things Benedict(not Arnold) then you should certainly give this place a shot. They consider eggs Benedict dishes their specialty. I had the cochon. It is a Benedict style dish with braised pulled pork and a biscuit subbed for the English muffin. Being a BBQ lover, I would have preferred a little smoke in the pork. I kind of missed the texture of the English muffin as well. That being said, it was still delicious. I almost feel bad that the gigantic biscuit was hidden by all the pork and sauce. It had a perfect texture, and would have stood out on any plate. The hollandaise was well prepared as well as the poached egg. All of these elements together really provide a unique, over the top experience. I added a little hot sauce to mine without regret. I had the potatoes as well. They were well prepared, but nothing special. You will have plenty with just the main dish. It was good. I would certainly find my way back here to try other things.

I ordered the Corned Beef Benedict based on seeing it being served as we walked in. My mom had the florentine and my dad the bacon and eggs. The Benedict is served on ‘cat head’ biscuits… they are huge! I had a few bites with some biscuit, but the flavor was lost so I scraped the eggs and corned beef off the top. The hollandaise was off, it was super mustardy tasting and I couldn’t eat it, but the rest was on par. Mom and dad both enjoyed their breakfasts and the service was great. Three stars for high price point and bad hollandaise, solid otherwise. I’ll return though and try something else.

Great brunch spot! The mimosas aren’t bottomless, which sucks. But they are ginormous and come with a splash of pomegranate juice. Just how I like it! I got the Chicken St. Charles, which was a delicious take on eggs Benedict. I could only finish half because the portions are so hefty. Our servers name was Ross, he did an excellent job given that they were so busy. This is definitely my favorite breakfast place in Pensacola.

Yessssss. I had no idea this place existed until randomly walking around downtown and I came across a mass of people on the sidewalk. Anytime I see a line I have to know why. I’m so glad that we figured it out! We went on Sunday morning, which is nuts, to have brunch. They quoted us a 40 minute wait. After about 5 minutes of waiting two seats at the bar opened up. We sat down and were instantly served. SCORE! The bartender was not only great at making drinks, but also a fantastic server. You can tell that this was not his first time working a Sunday brunch. While waiting on us, he was also making sure the folks waiting for 40 minutes outside on the sidewalk were served drinks and coffee. 40 minutes isn’t so bad if you have a bloody mary in your hand, right? Our food arrived quickly and it LOOKED so good! I had the eggs cochon(gotta try the house specialty) and my dad had the French toast of the day, which was some pumpkin cheesecake thing that was out of this world. My grits were nice and thick. The french toast was so soft that it melted in my mouth. The eggs cochon were served over a biscuit that made me want to save some to eat later. I didn’t, but I wanted to. I looked around the rest of the restaurant and wasn’t blown away by the décor. It is a pretty open place and it gets REALLY loud. I’m glad that we got the opportunity to sit at the bar and enjoy great service, great food and be able to hear each other talk.

That Eggs Cochon – you must try this! Located in the heart of downtown, The Ruby Slipper Café is probably the best place to get breakfast in Pensacola, FL. They’re local, unique, tasty, friendly, and other positive adjectives. The interior design is nice and there is always a line of people waiting to get a table. This is a true gem in Pensacola and you can’t leave this city without trying out one of their Eggs Benedict. If you’re a morning Bloody Mary person, you’ll probably like them even more.

As a critical breakfast lover I thought this place fit my breakfast craving but it wasn’t my favorite breakfast place of all time. Here are the highlights. 1. The service was excellent. 2. The biscuits are huge but somewhat disappointing. For such a grand big biscuit I expected them to be some of the best, but they were not very flaky and moist. 3. The lattes were great and very large portions. 4. I had an omelette and it was excellent. 5. There are lots of kid menu options. 6. The décor is nice and atmosphere is decent, the place is clean. Overall it was a decent but 3 stars because nothing really blew my socks off.
