I am not ashamed. We turn into total sushi pigs when we get a chance to visit here. Always our first stop. We always stuff ourselves and it’s enough for the trip. See you next time Sushi Master. Ps the rolls are good and massive but the plain ol tuna, salmon sushi are huge and fat… You really can order half as much as you think you can eat and be stuffed. Plus the prices rock! Many other great treats await inside even if you are not looking for sushi or fresh seafood. Hot fresh sourdough bread, ice cream, pies, salads, and deli foods. If your local you already know about this place, if your not its a must!

OMYGoodness! BESTSEAFOODINTOWN! Joey Patti’s Seafood Restaurant put the A in Awesome! We ordered the Grouper Dinner, the Oyster Dinner, the Calamari Basket, the Gumbo and the Shrimp Creole. Every single bite of our food was perfectly cooked, and was absolutely the BEST anyone in our party had ever eaten anywhere(including the French Quarter of New Orleans), which says a lot, as one of our diners was a professional chef. A must have item is the Hush Puppies, the coleslaw was Louisiana style-creamy and a bit spicy-absolutely delicious! I don’t know who Joey Patti has working in this kitchen, but they are worth their weight in gold! We will go back again and again, every time we are in Pensacola! They are closed on Sunday and Monday, and close daily after 4:30 pm. If you want supper, place your order for the evening meal at 4:00, pick it up, and reheat it a little bit at home. Of course, the Hush Puppies will will disappear before you get them home, so order extra!

This is where the old locals go for lunch. The restaurant closes at 4pm so don’t think you will have dinner here. The outside is nothing special. The inside isn’t either. The food is served in plastic bowls with paper. The silverware is all plastic. The wait staff are all fast. This is not a healthy restaurant, so leave your diets at home. The Gumbo is delicious. The fish is all fried. Try the fried shrimp or oysters. The coleslaw is average. I am never disappointed eating lunch here because I know it’s fresh.

Food was ok. I expected better. Fries were huge and very good though. Next time I’m picking up fresh and making my own. The fresh seafood at Joe Patti’s looked amazing.

When I was in graduate school, a group of us would head to Pensacola every year after finals. How we managed to avoid this legendary local restaurant is beyond me. Maybe because they’re only open for lunch until 4:30pm. The unassuming building that houses the restaurant is in sharp contrast to the impressive building that houses Joe Patti’s Seafood Market. But, the food is anything but unassuming. They put some effort into the food and it pays off. I had a grouper fish dinner that came with coleslaw, two sides and hushpuppies. It’s a lot of food and I was impressed by the generous portion of fried grouper, more than I could eat. The coleslaw was homemade and some of the best tasting I’ve ever had. The baked beans were major delicious, just like the kind you make at home with brown sugar and molasses. And the cheese grits are the way they should be with the cheese blended and stirred into the grits, not a few shreds sprinkled on top. It all added up to a memorable meal. Joe Patti’s reminds me of a fish camp, very casual, with plastic utensils and Styrofoam bowls and cups. The fish is served in a red plastic basket like you get at the drive in. The food is so good, though, you’ll won’t mind at all. Service was perfunctory, all business with no idle chit chat. These are waitresses used to turning big crowds at lunch who keep things moving. Try Joe Patti’s. Once you leave all you’ll think about is when you’re going back!

After shopping for seafood at Joe Patti’s, we were ready for lunch. This was our first trip to the restaurant, and were a little concerned by the very unassuming appearance. But we were very pleased with the very friendly, helpful service and the choices. We both got one of the fish lunches and agreed that it was very good. I got fried grouper and my wife the basa, each with tasty sides. The red velvet cake is excellent, very moist and lots of frosting. We definitely recommend the captains if you’re looking for an inexpensive but excellent lunch.

This place has the best oysters. They are perfectly cook, not rubbery. And they are really fresh tasting. Also the basa was incredible. This is a must stop place for us in FL

I was excited to eat local fresh seafood and was disappointed with(literally) the only grilled fish on the menu, the grilled salmon salad. It was very fishy. While our server was incredibly sweet, service was very slow. It’s a little dirty in the restaurant. If you love fried food, you’ll get along with their menu.

If you like fried food, you will love this place. I will say the grouper was really nice but everything else was just ok. Coleslaw was a bit peppery, the shrimp salad had pasta shells in it and a little too much old bay, and I was told the crabcakes/patties were flavorless. The service was ok, people were pleasant, but the air conditioner we sat near/under was covered in dust and desperately needed to be cleaned.

Very busy local restaurant with friendly, but incredibly slow service. Took us over 20 min to get drinks. In all, we were there over an hour. Everyone thought the food was«ok». The one thing I thought was very good was the basket catch of the day, which was Basa.

Our first time camping at Fort Pickens and visiting the Pensacola area. Best seafood market we’ve been to on the gulf!

I give this place 4 stars, even though I’m not a fried food fan. Their gumbo is to die for. Most everything here is fried. We actually went to the market and got some shrimp and sea scallops steamed and brought them to the restaurant, ordered some gumbo and had a great lunch. The service was great.

Enjoyed the fried mullet and side dishes. Some lemon wedges for the mullet would have been nice.

This restaurant is on a separate lot than the market. Very non-descript place but good food. I ordered the fried grouper with grits and a cup of gumbo. All were delicious and about $ 15 total. I loved the batter on the grouper which was flaky and tender. Went for lunch on a Thursday and it was a popular place to be.

We happened to stop in at Joe Patti’s on our way through town and were surprised and impressed with both the affordability and great taste or the food. We split a pound of crab claws, grouper basket and gumbo and everything we ordered was excellent! I would highly recommend this place to anyone I know visiting the area.

We went to Joe Patti’s on an empty stomach and we were referred to go here to eat. Honestly I can say from the outside it didn’t look to good. But boy were we wrong. This place hands down was great. It has a total mom-pop vibe to it but the service was excellent. They made sure our large party of people was taken care of the whole time. The food was excellent!!! The jumbo was the best I ever had, not mention the cheese grits were perfect. Honestly we all ate part of each other’s order so that we can try different things and I wasn’t disappointed by anything I tried. One there thing we have noticed in a lot of restaurants in Navarre the water doesn’t taste good. But here they don’t have this issue, everything was perfect. Thanks Joey’s for making our time here perfect.

This place gets packed and the parking lot is insufficient to hold the multitude of horseless carriages that roll up to disgorge hungry passengers. Get there early or plan to get creative when trying to find a slot to park. The food that I’ve had is… okay. I had two good-sized fried shrimp off of my lunchmate’s shrimp platter, which were lightly battered/breaded and fried lightly. But really, fried shrimp is an item that is difficult to mess up. I had the mullet po’ boy. Or, more precisely, I had a salad po’ boy with two small pieces of mullet on top(see picture). Seriously? The damned thing was difficult to eat in the configuration as presented. Volume-wise, I had 4:1 lettuce to mullet, with nowhere to put condiments. In hindsight, I should have removed 80% of the lettuce, placed the mullet filets *IN* the bun(where they belong), then commenced noshing. As it was, I muddled through and ate it, but I was mystified why the bun was completely filled with shredded lettuce. Whatever. The mullet was okay, just overpowered by the veggies. The fries are plank-style potato logs, fried just right. They are apparently cut from ginormous mutant potatoes, because my friend had a single fry that was about 6 inches long(picture). She gave it to me and, after I ate it, I was completely sated. Seriously, that was a frickin’ huge french fry. Good tea, efficient and friendly staff. You have to walk to a different part of the building if you wish to pay via debit/credit card. I suppose separating the server and bill payment functions expedites both, although standing in line after eating always chaps my backside. One more thing that I want to kvetch about: The menu is covered(covered!) with advertisements for other local businesses, as are the table tops. WTH? I can’t articulate why this offends me, but it does. Maybe a great place to grub doesn’t need to whore out its menu as a tawdry billboard for bailbond businesses and the like? I dunno. I just don’t appreciate it. I’d go back, if a friend wanted to go. I wouldn’t drive down from Milton for the express purpose of eating here, though.
