I went here about 10 times this summer and enjoyed every trip. Their shrimp rolls & other fried seafood is great, they don’t overcook it like so many other takeout places. Their french fries ate particularly good and my neice and I realky enjoyed the hard ice cream in a sugar cone. Hope this place is around for years to come ! Jennifer

The owner, Freda, says that there’s a roadside take-out place like this in every town in the area. What she really meant, though, was that every town in the area has a roadside take-out place, but none is as wonderful as this. We weren’t very hungry, yet, since it was only about 11.30, but we also had no idea when we’d see food again, and we’d already had a request from the 4-year-old for a picnic lunch with hot dogs, and this looked like it would fit the bill. And indeed it did, both culinarily and atmospherically. First, we all ordered hot dogs, except me, because I overheard the gentleman in front of us in line ordering a «fish burger,» and I asked Freda if it was any good, and she nodded approvingly. And she was right — picture the best, lightest, flakiest, freshest fried fish you’ve ever had, stick it on a bun, and add tartar sauce. Supoib. The hot dogs were fine, but do be warned that these are the day-glo pink hot dogs that I didn’t think that anyone actually bought. While we’re waiting for the dogs and burger, we swing around back, which is a beautiful grassy green hillside sloping down to the water. There are a half-dozen picnic tables scattered about, with umbrellas for shade, and far enough apart that you’re not interfering with anyone’s enjoyment and vice versa. And there’s a collection of well-used children’s ride-on toys(cars, trucks, dolphins, etc.). Great way to spend the time waiting for lunch, and then to burn it off to make room for dessert. Dessert was a home-made bread pudding, homemade strawberry shortcake(with rhubarb sauce), and a black raspberry shake. All fantastic, and totally satisfying. Lord knows the next time we’ll be on this particular road at mealtime, but if we are, we’ll be back.
