I really like this place! They have an awesome lunch selection with specials daily. When I came it was taco day and the food looked fresh. I did not try the special due to be being in the mood for something more simple. I ordered the chicken fingers and fries which were pretty good. The pound cake is what has me every time. Its awesome! Heavy, fluffy and not overbearing with too much sugar. They make the pound cake here perfectly. The place is not that big and there are a few tables to sit at. This more of a stop or a pick up place.

Great service, I have not had anything bad. You get large portions for a small price. In the last two weeks I have been there 5 times for lunch.

Talk about fantastic! This place has it. I am totally hooked on their Italian hoagie Stromboli slice. It is basically the makings of an Italian hoagie in Stromboli bread. Delicious. My buddy got a turkey and cheese sandwich. He loved it, he got the basic hoagie and had to take the half home. Did I mention the prices. VERYREASONABLE. You can take everybody out to lunch here and not go broke. I have been to their other location in Carney’s Point Twp. Both excellent. Put this place on your list for regular eat in or take out subs, pizza, deli, and etc. Oh, they have baked good and general store type stuff. plus lottery. You can’t be that!

Delicious, fresh, tasty subs!!! Me and my co worker share a «small» sub cause they are so big. Great value, always good. I don’t venture much outside of the hoagies but the Santa Fe Turkey is a flavorful twist on the standard Turkey hoagie.

The best philly I have ever had! We stopped here driving from NYC to PA and it was the best decision. The 10in sandwich was plenty for my husband and I and the highlight of our drive!

My mother in law really liked this spot and highly recommended for dinner. Really had a taste for some pasta. We ordered Spaghetti and meatballs — good amount of food but was not good. Bland red sauce. Lasagna was disappointing too.

Great place! We stopped in to get some take-out, and got the cheesesteak pie, turkey and stuffing roll-ups, ham and cheese roll, and the Susie’s Sampler of four mini-pieces of cake. Everything was very good, and the store offers a wide variety of pre-made hot foods, desserts, and made-to-order menu items. I would definitely recommend it!

Not very nice to newcomers. Grumpy old lady behind the counter. If she smiled her face would crack. Pepper rings on the side of a steak sandwitch are extra. Never heard of such a thing. Breakfast terrible. Over seasoned. Never again.

Cheese steak was awful. And Italian sub was mediocre. Price may be good but good and service not worth it. Took over 30 mins for our 2 sandwiches!

Love this place! great food and wonderful family owned business that cares about the quality of food it offers to its customers. staff is always friendly. They also bake cakes on site and the dessert selection is out of this world.

This was a great find for dinner! Italian Kitchen looks pretty unimpressive from the outside, like a typical convenience store, but don’t let looks fool you — you will find great food here. They offer pasta meals, sandwiches, and a ton of various baked goods which are all very reasonably-priced. My dad, boyfriend, and I all opted for the pasta entrees because we came hungry and were excited that the pastas come with a side salad and a breadstick. When our meals came out, we were blown away by the portion sizes! I could barely finish half of my eggplant parmesan, and because the meals are conveniently served in a huge tupperware container, it was easy to take my leftovers home. My boyfriend had the chicken parm which he enjoyed, and my dad had the veal parm which he also liked. Somehow my dad was able to finish his whole meal, but unless you’re a competitive eater or haven’t eaten all day(which was the case for my dad), I doubt that you could comfortably eat a pasta dinner in one sitting here. My only complaint was that I felt that the pasta sauce could have used a little more garlic for flavor. They have garlic powder on the tables, though, so it’s an easy fix. Unfortunately, we were too stuffed to order dessert, but all of their cakes and whoopie pies looked delicious.

I used to visit the Italian Kitchen every day on my way to work. The staff was always friendly and the food is incredibly good. I have lived in California since 2007 and we still talk about the Italian Kitchen and do our best to pop in when we visit South Jersey. Don’t miss their pizza or their hot and cold sandwiches. And don’t get me started on the desserts!

We’ve ordered take out a number of times from here. They have an excellent pumpkin cake roll with cream cheese filling. Their chef’s salad is huge and full of all the goodies a chef’s salad should have. I was expecting the garlic sticks to be typical«Olive Garden» type which I’m not impressed by. These garlic sticks aren’t very garlicky, but they taste homemade. A deliciously seasoned dough that I just can’t enough of. Chicken and Italian Strombolis were: full of meat and cheese. Yum. I was disappointed in their pasta dinner though. Very plain tomato sauce and over cooked pasta. The pizza was also just ok. Probably the best in Pennsville, NJ, but that is not saying much. Prices very reasonable.

Delicious cheesesteaks and eggplant parm subs just north of the Delaware memorial bridge. The sandwiches were really tasty. The deli was filled with yummy looking Italian pastries. The prices were excellent. Great place to stop for a quick road trip bite. Service with a smile and a very clean bathroom!

Bang for your buck. $ 10 for a large cheesesteak(20 inches) fed my family of four(two little ones) easily. On top of that it was pretty good. We also had a grilled cheese sandwich which was very good. Nice little place, people are nice, definitely good to drop by if your near the area.

This is the place for seriously good eats in Pennsville, New Jersey. The sheer quantity of food for the price is off the scales. The pizza, the hoagies, the sides, they are so well priced. Not only that, there is a further huge selection of good sitting out for order– steak strombolis, pepperoni breads, Italian good(like stuffed pepper, marinated mozzarella, etc etc) just waiting to be gobbled up. Something that would cost close to ten bucks in the city is under $ 4 here. You just cant beat that. But it isnt just the bargain-basement prices that make Italian Kitchen special. It is also the quality. Everything is made WELL here. The sad fact is that most of the hoagies, cheesesteaks and pizzas in South philly cannot even be mentioned in the same BREATH as Italian Kitchen. Places like this find a niche and go with it, whereas in the city it is a clusterfuck of crap all rolled up and sold as regional cuisine. Consequently, everyones quality goes down. That’s why speciality stores are better in the city(ie Vietnamese, Italian pastries, Mexican food) and generic«American» tends to shine in the burbs. I dont miss much about Salem Coutny, but places like Italian Kitchen make me drool whenever I visit family.

I have eaten thousands of cheesesteaks in my life. I work in the city and have tried just about everywhere in South Philly. BEST place, hands-down. I will not admit this to my boyfriend who grew up in Pennsville, however. :) If you’re lucky enough to live locally, opt for delivery. There’s not much of a place to sit, but honestly, I would sit on the sidewalk to just taste that nirvana again!

Stumbled upon this place as we were driving the turnpike. Great cheesesteaks, nice deli-type setting, and good Italian grocery selection. All very close to the turnpike! I started to order two cheesesteaks for my husband and me, but the woman behind the counter, seeing that I was new, asked me if I knew how large they were. Thank goodness she did, because a regular sandwich is about a foot long. Maybe more. It was huge! The sandwich was great: good steak, soft bread, nice veggies, and plenty messy. We ate it with some sodas at one of the tables in the front. Cleaning ourselves up was no problem, as the deli has a very clean and well-kept restroom. Although we didn’t try any of these, also on offer were pizzas, other sandwiches, and a pretty nice selection of Italian grocery items(canned goods, pastas, panettone, cannoli, etc.). This place was a great respite from the monotony of the drive, and the boring food of the service areas. Highly recommended.
