LaBar’s helped me out a couple years ago when I got copies of a really old key. I needed new copies for the same lock, and yesterday I stopped in one of the big box home improvement stores(at my boyfriend’s suggestion). I had to track someone down(hello? helloooooooooo?) and, when I got home, the keys didn’t work. Of course, I should have gone to LaBar’s first. Stopped in today. Great, helpful people working there. The shop has a cleaner-than-you-can-believe waiting area. Oh, and free customer wifi, but you won’t be there long. Phooey on big box stores for anything key-related. I know where I will immediately go next time.

Had a wonderful experience at Labars today. Our Son’s Avalon needed a new ECM and the dealer wanted almost $ 1500 for one. So I found a used one at a junkyard for under $ 40 and took a trip to Labars today to have the keys with chips programmed into the new ecm. Took them 10 minutes and a fair $ 100. So a new working ecm in his Avalon for $ 140 vs. $ 1500 for a dealer! Thanks Lebars!

A quick story explaining my experience… Dec 19, 2013– After a long day at work at McGuire AFB, NJ, I had stopped by the gas station to grab a few things. Once I got back into my car, I had reached for the keys and attempted to turn my car on. Once I had realized that the key wouldn’t turn, it was too late. Due to the stress of the day, I unknowingly used my house key(looks just like a car key) into the damn ignition! The key would not budge at all. It was barely an inch in the ignition. I tried to use some muscle to yank it out and got no positive result. I had called the base Security Forces desk for a locksmith. The number was for LaBar’s Lock Shop. The gentleman I spoke to(Mike I believe) was a professional as can be. He was very helpful and polite. He gave me the number to the tow truck company that ended up picking up my car in a very timely manner. Mike told me that he would stay at the shop later than usual, in order to help me out. The very next day, I got a call at 0820 in regards to my vehicle. I was told that the ignition components did not have to be repaired/replaced. The key that was lodged in there was done, which was the least of my worries. He said to come by and pick up the car, as well as discuss the price of the service. I had my buddy drop me off at the shop, which was very clean and organized inside. The lady at the desk was very polite to me. Needless to say, the price was well below what I expected to pay. I would suggest to anyone in need of a locksmith, to put this number in their phones. From the super fast repair and courtesy, I am beyond pleased. Thank you so much guys. Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
