Not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but a damn good pizza. The beans were among the best I’ve ever had. Giant chunks of really good ham and a delicious broth. Excellent, friendly service. A sign in the kitchen, to the staff, read«What separates a great café from a ‘greasy spoon’? Attention to detail!» I like that. Cash only.

I saw the other positive reviews so we decided to try it for lunch. Great meatball sandwich. The bread was excellent. My wife loved her salad. Great place for lunch on a scooter ride.

Pizza was delicious and the ingredients were very fresh. The Onion tasted like they just came out of the garden. We are very happy with the food and the service.

On my bicycle ride I happened upon the Thunderbird Café. Nestled in the beautiful Peeples Valley, it is a crown jewel. The wood fired pizza oven was fired up in the smell of fresh baked pizza filled the air. I had the prime rib sandwich on home baked roll and the fresh from the garden house salad, topped with the house made blue cheese dressing. They don’t skimp on the cheese. I’d come often if I lived near here. I wish they were in Fairbanks Alaska where I’m from

Very delicious pizza! We had the veggie delight. Lots of scrumptious vegetables, cheese and homemade pizza dough. Beautiful area… Peeples Valley. Go for a drive… enjoy life :-!

A few weeks ago we rode motorcycles up to T-Bird café from Phoenix. Based on the reviews we’d seen, we had high expectations and it did not disappoint! we had a veggie pizza baked in the wood fire oven and it was delicious! The staff was super friendly as well as the other patrons. It’s a small, charming place and I highly recommend it!

A little hidden gem well worth the stop. I moved out to California from the east coast 3 years ago and decided to take a roadtrip. Hands down best pizza I’ve had in a long time. We also ate a salad, also quite fulfilling. Such a friendly atmosphere and amazing food at an affordable price. Simply a must!

We were headed back from a camping trip and looking for a place to stop and have dinner. I tried to find a place online and called a few to find out they were out of business. While driving we saw the T-bird café and decided to stop and were pleasantly surprised when we walked in to a very clean, neat, and we’ll managed establishment. The pizza was great, bathrooms spotless and service was fantastic. We look forward to going back again!

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! We have gone there the last three summers while vacationing in Congress, AZ. This is our go to place. It is a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, but a gem to seek out! Great stop on the way up to Prescott. Pizza is their thing and they do it right! The pizza is incredible! Toppings are very fresh and cooked to perfection! The Wood Burning Oven was shipped from Italy! Great place to take kids. Bring cash… no credit cards! We will continue to go back year after year! Love small, local places that are delicious!

Wow — what a pleasant surprise. Perfectly cooked, supremely fresh pizza in the middle of… nowhere! Our family of five ordered a standard pepperoni and Al’s deluxe combo. Both were Ahhhhmaaazing ! Bring cash or your checkbook(?!?), this place does not take plastic.

Cute little roadside café in an old house retrofitted with a wood burning oven for their really good pizza. The pizza is the star of the show… crispy, slightly burned crust, sweet(but not too sweet) sauce, and a wide variety of gourmet toppings including house-made sausage. The remainder of the menu is salads, an antipasto plate, oven baked wings, and italian sandwiches. They use quality, local ingredients for their food and it shows… simple dishes take on fantastic flavor. Service is friendly and very informal, prices are a little higher than you might expect but not outrageous, and in our opinion it was worth it. We will definitely visit again whenever we’re driving through. Some notes: Open 12 – 8 daily, closed Tues and Weds No alcohol, but they allow BYOB Cash only Pizza comes in two sizes: 12″ and 14″. Prices for pizza run between $ 10 and $ 23

Great wood-burning oven pizza. Best thin crust pizza we have had in quite a while. Best salad around. Best bleu cheese dressing, too. But, be warned: The Old World pizza uses marinated artichoke hearts, which give the pizza a vinegar flavor. That may be good or bad for you, depending on whether you like vinegar-flavored pizza. If you don’t want vinegar, it is a great pizza if you ask them to leave off the artichokes. Big Al’s is popular, and is very good if you like lots of ingredients. Their simpler pizzas really come into their own. Their«Marguerite» pizza really shines, with each ingredient complimenting the others. Great sandwiches, as well. About the only weak spot is the lame tomatoes they buy. It is definitely worth the drive to get such a great pizza. Or make it part of a trip.
