Really fun winery! I came here with a couple of friends while we were spending the day in North Fork. We came to Lenz because of the amazing reviews and the live music. We ended up getting the flight of wine — the classic one for $ 12. It consisted of 5 wines(3 white and 2 reds) that they produce every year. They do have a premium flight for $ 15, which consists of 5 wines that they produce only on special years. My favorite of the flight has to be the Gewürztraminer. It had notes of apricot, pineapple and lychee. It was so good, I ended up getting a bottle for $ 22. We also ended up getting some cheese, honey and crackers. The cheese was from a local goat farm. It was garlic and herb flavor which was delicious! I also had no idea that honey with goat cheese tastes so good. Overall had a great experience here. Great vibes, music, service, cheese and wine! I’ll certainly be back here again if I’m in the area.

I came here with a bachelorette party for Elegant Wine Tours. The ambiance was very welcoming and intimate. I only gave it an A-Ok rating because we were not able to select the wine. It was only recommended by the staff. I wish we were able to spend more time at this winery, so maybe I will return in the future.

Good wine. The inside tasting room could use some updating. The outside area is much nicer with different seating options. Like the live music options.

Visited here on my Pour & Pedal trip and this was my favorite winery. The wine is delicious, even the white for a non-white drinker — try the Geursdaveiner! My favorite is the 2012 Cabernet. The scenery here is beautiful even in the beginning of the spring when I visited. Amazing pictures. I can’t wait to see it in the summer! So many possibilities for events here. The staff was also very kind and great at explaining the different wines of course! I love how they are sustainable are reuse the skins and seeds for their dirt.

I’ve been to many wineries on Long Island and in Connecticut and this is now one of my favorites. We did a flight and the staff were very knowledgable and I enjoyed every wine I tasted. I love the barn atmosphere decorated with some very pretty chalk board art. The outdoor area is nice and large so it wasn’t overcrowded. Great for buying a few bottles and having a nice picnic.

From our experience, no winery here compares to the wines produced by the soils of Napa, however for LI, Lenz’s wines were superior as a whole. They offered great variety worth drinking and not dumping. Also, they have great outdoor space to hang out and enjoy the weather. Try the Premium tasting with the Malbec and Cab. Those were our favorites!

A charming stop when on Long Island’s North Fork. First and foremost, the wine is a delight.(So much I took home a few bottles to gift.) The folks pouring share the story behind each wine. They *know* their wine. The staff worked seamlessly across groups, creating a fun vibe. I look forward to visiting during the summer. The outside space has some comfortable looking seating. Perfect for enjoying the views :) Note: This is an incredibly popular spot, popular with limo tours, so the space fills up. You’ll have fun meeting new people!

Take a swig of their 2012 Merlot. They have a cute outdoor area with ample seating and also a food truck. I’d recommend making a stop here on your North Fork wine tour.

Lenz was the highlight of our Saturday wine tour! We arrived around noon and were seated right away. Jeff, our sommelier who ran our tasting, was beyond fantastic! Probably the best tasting I’ve had… he shared just enough information that we learned something and the info he shared was actually really cool and relevant to the region. I can’t emphasize how fantastic he wasn’t The tasting includes 5 wines and we actually enjoyed all of them. It does seem that they are better known for their reds, particularly the merlot. The winery has a number of picnic tables and Adirondack chairs seatings you can enjoy too! The tasting room is fairly small but offers a large bar and a small selection of merchandise/wine related items. In the warm weather they also have a food truck that you could purchase lunch from and we also saw people bringing their own food in. Dogs are allowed here too! Would add this to your wine tour itinerary!

This stop was part of our self-researched North Fork Wine Tour, and we are glad we came! Initially it was a bit more impersonal, partially due to a lot of people inside the tasting room(including the requisite woo-girls group with their limo). I don’t like it when I can overhear the server recite the same description to another group then say it verbatim to us. Of course it’s the same, but I like the illusion of personalizing the experience. We ended up tasting a nice affordable Cab Sauv that we bought, and had a much more pleasant time once everyone had left. Basically I just need everyone else to leave so I can drink in peace. Kthanks!

This wine was pretty good. Wine tasting is very subjective and I’m partial to the sweeter wine. None of their wines have any residual sugar left in them. I did have a glass of the Chardonnay which was very good stop by if you like the dryer wines

This winery is a delightful experience with warm staff, outdoor picnicking and delicious wines. Our party of seven undertook the premium tasting with five excellent wines by a knowledgeable steward who helped us discern more of our preferences in our purchases as well. Outdoors at picnic tables, we were surrounded by wedding parties and wine tours but did not feel crowded, rushed or bothered by the mix of people. Instead, we brought out our own picnic and enjoyed the fine Gewürztraminer purchased for our group. I’d strongly encourage those visiting the area with serious wine interest to come to Lenz where a higher quality, more customized tasting experience is provided in a welcoming surround of people and place.

Very cute location. Lots of outdoor seating. They have wine sampling by the taste, so you can have as many or as little different wines as you like. Friendly and down to earth staff. Would definitely come back to enjoy a glass of wine outdoors.

Came here in September for a winery tour. The staff were very courteous, attentive, and helpful. We sampled three white wines, all of which were very delicious. I liked that all three styles of the white wine had different, distinct flavors. It was easy to tell the difference between them because they were so different. This place is a nice spot to relax, nothing too special or unique about it. Rustic interior in which you can purchase wine and use the restroom. The outside patio has a beautiful wooden overhang which captures the sunlight and has vines growing all around, it made for some very beautiful pictures. I understand that the person giving us samples was busy, and we were laughing a bit to loud(but that never hurt no oneeee, Billy Joel, anyone!?) In all seriousness, huffing very loudly as we asked questions, pretty much told us we were annoying, never smiled. I really don’t like when people get frustrated for having to do their job. Overall, not the most memorable of vineyards, but pleasant. Was lacking anything unique about the grounds, not the best of views, kind of small.

A group of us set out to Long Island one weekend to the North fork area to experience new wineries and The Lenz Winery was actually our second stop on our tour. It was a lovely day so we took over their outside picnic area. We were able to sample/taste 3 or maybe four wines. Over all, the wines were not bad at all. The service was great, atmosphere was awesome, and our group ROCKED!!!

This winery is located in north fork in the Long Island wine region. Small winery but all their wines are estate bottled. That means they use their own grapes from vineyards to make wine. Surprisingly not all the wineries are doing it. And I really value the estate bottled wines because that’s real local wine. Nice spacey old barn style tasting room. They have two type of tastings which were ‘estate’ and ‘premium’. I tried ‘premium flight’ and some of other whites. I liked 2007 old vines merlot. It was earthy, complexed and beautiful. I think the wine needed a little more aging in the cellar to mature. It was still a beautiful merlot. I also enjoyed 2010 old vines Gewürztraminer. Floral aroma with dry finish was good. Price was bit steep for those wines in ‘premium flight’ but I can see they have high standard for their wines. They have nice selection of wines. I’ll try estate flight next time I visit. It’s nice place to stop and do tasting. It’s worth a visit if you are one of the serious wine lovers and taste quality wines from a NY winery.

I am not a wine person but I didn’t like the wines at all. They tasted like vinegar honestly. The tasting room was very nice and the grounds were gorgeous. The woman who served us was very stand offish but it was busy so that could’ve been why. All in all the scenery was what made this vineyard for me.

This is a classic Long Island winery that offers something truly unique to the area — some world class wines! Our group was greeted enthusiastically, and seated promptly. Lenz lets you bring your own cheese and snacks, or you can select from their offerings. The wines here pair well with cheese and fruit. The property offers a warm and charming atmosphere, with a number of seating areas, inside and out — under the pergola, in the courtyard, or in the shaded garden. Lenz produces a number of reds and whites, but there are(in my opinion) a few standouts — 1) Reserve and Old Vine Merlot. Please put your«Sideways» prejudice aside — this is really good juice. The Old Vine is expensive, but it will stack up to any right bank Bordeaux — and the Reserve is excellent for $ 25; 2) Bubbly — they cannot keep this nice, dry champagne in stock, and it pairs so well with soft cheeses and fruit; 3) a new offering of a white blend named Tete-a-Tete, consisting a 50% each of Pinto Gris and Gewürztraminer. Great spot, terrific staff, and wonderful merlot and bubbly.

OMG, would you folks grow a pair? Think about what happens at a vineyard, They are trying to run a business on the east end of Long Island. Its not all Rose out there 12 months out of the year.(Get it, Rose??) Anyhoo, people have it in their heads that they’ll get a free buzz and demand wine. I WANTWHITEWINE! NOWLEMMETRY A REDWINE! Stupid asses, I try to avoid you slobs every chance I get. The worst time to come wine tasting? Columbus day when everyone is off. Enough of my ranting. This is about Lenz who produces a superior and award winning wine, Their Chardonnay is an exceptional wine, I highly recommend spending the extra money and buying a bottle of their best white wine. Here’s a great idea, for Thanksgiving buy a sweet wine to be served with Turkey. The sweetness will make your dinner pop. My tip for the day. Be nice to the people working in the wineries. If your just there for free booze, don’t expect a warm and fuzzy after your third drink.
