Interested in having your guitar and money stolen? Hey, check out Moon Custom Guitars. I did business with Scot Moon, the owner, for years and had nothing but great things to say about his workmanship and business practices but that all came to a halt two years ago when I gave him $ 1200 to have Tacoma DR16C refinished and some other work done on another Tackamine acoustic. I was still in the Army at the time and stationed on the other side of the country but we made an agreement that I’d come and pick up the guitars in a few months when I moved back to California. In the time since I first gave him my guitars until today, I’ve tried multiple times to get in touch with Scot to see what the status of my guitars is but I’ve only received a few returned phone calls giving me excuses and promises never kept. This apparently isn’t the first time this kind of thing has happened. Other guitarists in the area have since told me stories of Scot’s dubious behavior. I’ve given him more than enough time to reconcile our differences. I’d even settle for just having my guitars back and giving up on the money as a lesson learned. But I want anyone who’s interested in doing business with him to know that this is the risk you run.
