My favorite donut place place! I’ve been going here since high school. The dough is perfect. It’s soft and fluffy. Nowhere else beats it. I’d go out of my way just to stop at D Donuts. I usually get their Chappel Hill kolaches. They go quick, so you’d want to get there early! When I decide to treat myself, I’ll get a donut. Their breakfast tacos are good too. I like that they have slices of bacon in them rather than cut up. Everything I’ve had here is fresh and delicious. Must try if you’re ever in Pearland. I believe it was an old gas station at one point in time.

If you’re a fan of Shipley’s kolaches, you need to give D Donuts a chance. The kolaches are super fresh, with a pastry like yeast bread and local Chappel Hill sausage in the standard plain, cheese and jalapeño varieties. My boyfriend and daughter go nuts for the huge, fresh croissant sandwich with bacon, egg and cheese, also offered with sausage patty which is a bit spicy. The jumbo kolache with cheese is a great deal, never doughy or gooey or like a Pillsbury biscuit wrapped around a sausage like Pena’s Donut Heaven taste like. The shop is tiny, just room for the food case and the drink case and the bakery in the back and it’s family run and staffed super friendly. The drink case has many juices, chilled coffees, Red Bull and Monster varieties and waters. The donuts aren’t as good as Shipley but they’re good enough to fill that sweet craving, especially the cinnamon twist. They sell out quickly and are usually closed by 11 to noon, which is a good sign that business is doing well.

I love the glaze on their traditional glazed donuts. I think it has a touch of honey. Their jalepeno kolaches are perfect with the roll being a little sweetened to lighten the spice. And the people who own the shop are very nice and respectful and throw in the free donut holes in the bag, two or three like most places. I really just wish they had more variety of donuts. And my daughter doesn’t rely like their chocolate filled too much.
