Great variety of gourmet donuts! I’m hooked, good to see a family owned business like this flourishing in the middle of Dunkin donuts land! That tells you how good the donuts are!

Stopped by here on a recommendation from a friend. You haven’t tasted a donut until you try here! When I walked in with my daughter the woman was extremely friendly and sweet. The selection was fresh and clean looking. Love this small business and hope they grow successfully. We need more places around like this with good quality food and nice, hard working people that take pride in what the goods and services they provide. Nut-free too!

For months, I’ve been on a doughnut odyssey. I had a long dalliance with Kane’s, tried Donut King, Verna’s, Ohlins, and Coffee Time. Today, I thought I’d try something different, and on impulse, decided to try Ziggy & Sons. I am delighted I did. First things first — it’s a cute little store-front. Small, scrupulously clean, and bright. Next — customer service — amazing. The woman behind the counter was about the friendliest and most welcoming person. They didn’t have any Bismarks yet today, so she offered to save us some.(We didn’t take her up on it, because we wouldn’t be able to get back in time — I will definitely be coming back to try Bismarks another day). The price — reasonable. Super-reasonable. We got thirteen doughnuts, four special pastries, and a juice — so two, full boxes of treats — for less then twenty dollars. Finally, the doughnuts — literally, the best doughnuts I’ve had. The raised doughnuts are delicate, feather-light, with a fine, even, pillow-y crumb.(We got glazed, sugar-raised, a boston crème, and one with sprinkles). The flavor is clean, bright, not too sweet. The cake doughnuts are ALSO amazingly light, with beautifully crunchy, crisp exteriors.(We got chocolate, coconut, toasted coconut, cinnamon, a cruller, and a jelly stick). There’s nothing sticky or greasy about these doughnuts. We also got an apple dumpling, a lemon square, and two turnovers. The lemon square was like a bite of sunshine. My dad saved the apple dumpling for later, so I can’t report on that. The turnovers were lovely. Some people may note that the doughnuts are slightly smaller than those from Kanes, Verna’s, or the Donut King. Personally, I think that the slightly smaller doughnut size is an advantage — these are the perfect size to have with coffee. I will definitely return.

Best donuts in Peabody! Made locally and fresh daily. Great assortment and the staff is always helpful. Hard to find donuts like this around!

Seriously, this place has the best donuts I’ve ever eaten. They are handmade everyday by a local family in small batches and are always SOFRESH. They have a great selection, but make sure to get there early because they only make a limited amount and tend to run out quickly. My favorites are the Boston Cream, Jelly, Chocolate Frosted, Honey Dip(Glazed) and the Apple Cider. But honestly, they’re all good, you won’t be disappointed with any flavor! This is their second location, the original is located in downtown Salem, in a house on the way to the Salem Willows. Both locations are quirky, but offer the same amazing donuts.

I went at 2:30 today, saw the«Visa» sign on the door, and was turned away because it was cash only. Evidently the credit card reader leaves with one of the workers during mid afternoon. I dno – I couldn’t really follow the explanation. I offered to leave my card number, so that I could pay whenever the machine/mystery employee returned, but this offer was declined. Too bad, the donuts and all looked good. In fact, they looked so good that I can’t give one star.

Just to update… the pies were amazing as expected. My brother-in-law is a lemon meringue pie fanatic and claimed Ziggy’s meringue is 2nd only to his Mom’s! Love this lil treasure of a shop.

What can you say this place leaves you wanting donuts everyday or at least once a week. Anytime I’ve gone never disappointed, my and daughter love them also. Always fresh. Yesterday I called and told that I wanted some extra sugar raised donuts. This morning I got there and someone ahead of me alao got sugar raised donuts lucky I called for them extra ones so I bought a dozen made our morning.

Super disappointed, I wanted to reward my staff for a job well done with doughnuts. Looking at places around my office, there was a clear answer. Ziggy’s. I was ecstatic to come across a small batch doughnuts shop close by. I arrived at opening, 7am, the place was closed. I waited around a few minutes, called the shop, and took off, disappointed, arriving at work doughnut-less.

I called on Easter and no one picked up the phone. Imagine my surprise about 20 minutes later, someone called me back to see if they could help me!(the good olé star 69? someone could see my number? hmm) Any who, I thought they sounded so nice and thoughtful that I decided to go down and pick me some donuts. We got about a dozen donuts(we just told her to pick an assortment) and she kindly gave an extra one because the jelly one looked too small and she thought she should compensate for it with the extra! We brought these over to a family outing and people really enjoyed them! They weren’t eaten until a couple of hours later, but everyone commented on how crispy they were and how flavorful it was. I also got a raspberry turnover where the filling was really good — not too sweet. The apple dumpling was also a nice treat(which I ate a couple of days later). I think the apple one would have been best if I had it fresh. The apple dumpling was a whole peeled apple with cinnamon sugar and covered in a pastry. Sorta reminded me if an apple decided to put on a pie shell and magically become an apple pie. Worth checking out at the least and very nice people inside!

I’d knock off ½ star for the complete sterileness of the shop but you came for donuts and these are done so well. Only had an apple cider(good outside crunch, not too much glaze) and saw they had paczki(sp?) so grabbed one of those. At noon on a Sun., the selection was thinning but still a good amount of stuff including turnovers, whoopie pies, apple dumplings and more. Prices are great, can’t beat $.89 for a donut and served with a smile. Worth the drive from Boston.

I drive by this place all the time, but had never gone in. This morning I had a craving for real(not Dunkin’) donuts. Too far to drive to Coffee Time, so I thought I’d give Ziggy’s a try. Boy am I glad I did! Haven’t tried all of the varieties yet, but I think the honey dipped is even better than Coffee Time. Found our new go-to donut shop!

Decided to come here today after finding this place on Unilocal! The reviews are all correct, yummy donuts with a crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. The problem I have is that the crunch made it seem almost a wee but stale. I chose the cinnamon donut and would go back to sample another(only .95 cents). Not my favorite but a decent place to go if you’re in the neighborhood.

Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. These are the BEST donuts I’ve had in a long time.

What an extraordinary donut/coffee/muffin shop! These are donuts the way they were meant to be. The plain are the perfect combination of crunchy outside and soft inside so you get a perfect blend of both in each bite. The jelly are pillowy goodness and are well filled with tasty jelly. Lemon, coconut, cinnamon, glazed, blueberry, chocolate and more… all incredible. The coffee was surprisingly good and so fresh. Plus if you call ahead they’ll tell you what flavors they are making that day but if you want something different you just need to ask and they will make it for you. Get there early to get the most variety because as the day goes on these bits of heaven could be snapped up. Best of all I don’t have to drive to Salem anymore since they opened this location in Peabody.

No better donuts! My husband and I have stopped in at least once a week since they opened in this Peabody location. The good old plain donut is a benchmark for the quality of a donut shop’s offerings because there are no fancy toppings/fillings to hide it’s true nature. Well Ziggy’s plain is plain wonderful. Light, crispy, flavorful and very fresh. The jelly is amazing, it melts in your mouth and they are NOT skimpy with the flavorful filling. Actually, every kind they make is fantastic. It’s a small family run donut shop. Don’t expect 50 varieties covered with orange or green frosting. This is a real, good old fashioned New England style donut shop with hand cut donuts made fresh every single morning. Don’t get me wrong, Kane’s can make a great donut but their prices are outrageous. Ziggy’s is a great value and they even give you a true bakers dozen(13) or if you order a half dozen(7). It’s located right on Lowell street in Peabody, not far from route 1 but they are a little bit hidden in a strip mall. We’re so lucky they decided to set up this second location in Peabody.

Stopped in for the first time yesterday. I was very impressed with how clean of an establishment it is. The ice coffee and coffee roll I had was great. I’m going to continue to make this my morning stop.

Ziggy’s makes the best donuts anywhere. Freshly made not only daily but first thing in the morning, not overnight like lots of places. Family run, family friendly. Spotlessly clean. Close parking. Everything you could want in your local donut place. Oh, and they make other pastries as well(but donuts reign here!).
