This place is easy to miss not only because it is small but also because it does not look like it would be a restaurant! My boyfriend and I used to get breakfast all the time on Sundays but lately I’ve been working and I haven’t been around. When I saw I had Sunday morning off we made plans to go to reds on rt one. We got there and there was a huge line, and since I still had work that day we couldn’t risk it. Literally typed breakfast on our gps and it brought us to the little depot diner! The place is so cute. When we first walked in there were no seats available but there was coffee in the waiting area which was very much needed and made the wait bearable. The seating is only one long bar, there are no tables. This might not be comfortable for older people. The waitresses were really nice and outgoing which made us feel welcome. We also noticed that there were a bunch of regulars. Very cute. Everyone was having a good time and it felt like the kinda place I wanna be on Sunday mornings. Once we got our food it was so delicious. I got a scrambled egg dish with chorizo and veggies with toast. Yum. My boyfriend got eggs Benedicte. They were both great. Cash only. Bank next door you can use the ATM there if you don’t have cash. We found a gem and we will definitely be back!!! My boyfriend can’t stop talking about the food!

Can’t say enough great things about this place, it’s delicious! We just moved to Peabody but it will be our breakfast spot from now on. I haven’t had such a great breakfast in a long time

Love this place ! Cozy, sweet service and above all the food is great. Out of all the places around the north shore this is by far the best. If you haven’t checked it out yet do it ! Leave your house or table now !

Part of the diner experience is going where the crew knows your name. I love that I can walk in and they know me and my kids. Finding a place to sit is another story, so you need to be strategic about when you go. Between the special butter and Hungarian sausage, there’s a lot to experience. That, and an awesome music selection. Jimi Hendrix for breakfast, anyone? Cash only, but there’s an ATM nearby, so don’t sweat it. The food there is great, and I’ve only gotten as far as the breakfast menu. Try the Hungarian benedict, you’ll thank me later. It’ll put lead in your pencil!

Soooo delish!!! Went here with my husband earlier this week and I was very pleasantly surprised :). There is only bar top/stool seating just a heads up, maybe 12 – 14 seats, which is the ONLYDOWNSIDE. The people here are so friendly and welcoming, sometimes I feel«funny» sitting close to people, not here! The whole experience was great. Yes yes yes, onto the food. I got the Florentine Benny, all served up on top of an oversized english muffin. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the holly sauce was delish. The home fries… Dun dun dun… Were nice and crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside, you HAVENOIDEA how infrequently you get decent home fries!!! They’re usually more like boiled potatoes that barely graced the flat top/skillet/whatever. My husband got the special with eggs, home fries, the Hungarian sausage(yum), and marble rye. He really enjoyed his as well. Side note: While we were there they got the old fashioned train set going, which goes around the inside perimeter of the diner, so cute. Overall a wonderful experience and I would come back in a heart beat. In fact, I’ve already blabbed about this place to friends and family!

I love these little places. You get a sense of importance, sitting down to a delicious meal in a cozy diner, where the servers know you by name and they’re the friendliest people on Earth. This is that place. The food is great and cheap! We had pancakes, eggs, bacon, and a spinach egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. What made it so good was that the bagel was toasted in butter. Made it a buttery hot melting mess of deliciousness. I would definitely come back here when I’m in the area.

What a charming diner. Super nice people, and delicious food. It’s nice to have a choice of beans vs potatoes for sides. Kid friendly. There’s a cute toy train that runs around the diner inside on a track; great for kids.

This tiny place is a gem! The food was absolutely amazing, service just as amazing. The chefs and wait staff made it so fun for my daughters. Eggs Benedict w/their homemade sausage was insane. Will definitely be back!

Amazing little diner. Has crazy ambiance. A real throwback. Rickety little stools that let u belly up to counter in what seems like an old school dining cart. Girlfriend got the strawberry Heath bar waffle with caramel maple cinammon sugar butter. Unreal. I had the Hungary eggs Benedict with house made Hungarian sausage(like linguica but better!) so great. It’s a husband & wife team running the show. Service was outstanding & you are in & out very fast. Soooo worth a visit!

Wow! New favorite spot! This diner has incredible food and amazing service. The staff is so incredibly nice and quick! I must say that I was a little surprised when I first walked in because it’s only bar-seating(no tables), but that’s also what makes it so great. The bar has a beautiful granite top, and the atmosphere is adorable and quaint. The food… Incredible. I’m a tough critic– very picky, so this review says a lot!

I went to this place the other day for the first time I had seen it on diners drive-ins and dives I was going to check it out I was pleasantly surprised from the Benedict with the Polish sausagehomemade in-house to the grilled cheese sandwich with five different types of cheese and it says in the Nuttla frappé it’s not owned by a young couple and always and if there was super friendly you got to check it out I hear their homemade hash is out of this world

Great place, Collette the owner and her husband have a great place… Good food, great service and every one is happy to see you. Wanted to try this place after I saw it on DDD, and because it’s different owners I can’t compare between the two, but as far as this place goes it’s awesome. Small, Diner stool seating and cash only… And a train that goes all way around ceiling for the lil ones. Nice job guys.

I’ve been a regular visitor to Little Depot since moving to the North Shore a couple of years ago. What keeps me going back is the consistently good food, fresh ingredients, and excellent service. Also that they avoid the pitfalls of many other options – the place is spotlessly clean, they use local eggs and dairy, make their own sausage, etc. There are only two restaurants I recommend to people on a regular basis. This is one.

I went here for Breakfast, and left unimpressed. I was expecting much more from this place. Atmosphere was a rather unusual mixture of trains and blues music, and the blend is rather confusing. But, points for originality Location itself is tiny, I mean almost microscopic. There are only seats at the counter, no tables. Unless you are skinny, short, just have short legs you will be bumping elbows with the people to your side, and you will be bumping your knees against the counter. If you come in when it is full, wait time isn’t too bad, but location for waiting is the size of an ultra luxurious port-a-potie. Service is polite, cheery and quick. Food… if the food was something spectacular, I would forget all about the crowded location. I realize breakfast is not the most exciting meal, and breakfast menus don’t vary that much, fact remains… I had the Banana-Nutella french toast with a side of bacon. French toast dish was a little on the dry side, I would have liked some more moisture. The«Special Butter» was very good, and helped with this a little, but not too much. Bacon was fresh off the pan, and good, I mean come on, it’s bacon! Maybe Lunch/Dinner would be better

It is indeed a great brunch-breakfast place. Secret home recipe for Hungarian sausage is definitely a delight! Full of R&B theme decoration. The waitress is very nice, considerate and outgoing. They gave us free sampler of home fries. Even the local residents visiting this place are super friendly and love to share. Cash only.
