I went to see Dr. Neckers yesterday after not going to the optometrist for over 10 years. She checked everything thoroughly and let me know what everything was for along the way. She answered all my questions and was both professional and friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Neckers to anyone looking for a great optometrist!

I have been a patient of Sears Optical for 20 years for my annual eye exam and have purchased over a dozen pairs of glasses and now getting fancy with contacts. I have always seen Dr. Neckers who is an excellent and VERY professional Optometrist not to mention very fashionable. She check for everything and gives a thorough exam, you can tell she knows her stuff. When in need of an eye exam go here it is located in the lower level of Sears, you will not be disappointed.

Like a fool, I waited until December 30th to try to book an eye exam, get a new prescription, eyeglasses, and contacts. Before midnight on the 31st. Or lose $ 375 of my flex spending. Yes, I saw the signs posted all over Lenscrafters and got about 100 emails, but at no point did it dawn on me that I too live within the confines of Eastern Standard Time. Until December 30th, that is. Anyway, I stroll into Lenscrafters like I own the place and ask for a walk-in appointment. Um, no-go. What?! The guy tells me to try Sears Optical. Was that a bit of a gloat I sensed? Who can say… Tail between my legs, I descended the escalator into the depths of what used to be the«main entrance» to the mall(remember that? when the Jordan Marsh escalator was the number one way to get in?! HA!) I show up at Sears Optical and the girl tells me they, too, are all booked. BUT, she offers me an appointment on the 31st! Huzzah! I come back the next day, a few minutes late(about which they were very gracious!), and am treated extremely well. Service was detailed, but efficient. Got the glaucoma test(which I did NOT get at Cohen’s in Cambridgeside last year!), and a very thorough eye exam. They had advised me to bring my existing contact lenses to save a little money on the«lens upcharge» that is an add-on if you want a second prescription JUST for contacts on top of you regular glasses prescription. It can be up to $ 70, but because I already had my contacts with me, they only charged me $ 25. The optometrist gave me a pair of contacts to try, which were great and which I wore out that day. I had NO intentions of purchasing glasses at the Sears Optical location. The selection is SLIMPICKINS at best, and the prices seemed to be a touch higher for the same frames than they were in LensCrafters. But then the friendly receptionist springs one on me! She tells me they are doing a special where if you buy 6 months of contacts, you get ANY full pair of glasses with frames AND lenses for $ 149. Take into consideration the fact that most of the frames I was looking at were $ 179.99, and that was just for FRAMES with no lenses! SOLD and SOLD. I ended up walking out with 6 months of contacts, a new pair of glasses, and a full eye exam for $ 392. GREAT experience, great service. I’ll be back next year!
