We used to love the former Pawlet Station, which has recently undergone an ownership and name change. We had lunch today at the new«West Side Station» in Pawlet. We were the Only people in the restaurant. The owner was busy on her cell phone and could not be bothered with us. The wait staff and cook were inexperienced. Hygiene was poor and the food poor to mediocre. Pulled pork soup was very cold. Asian salad was prepared behind the counter in full view of us. None of the vegetables were washed off and the chef did not know how to cook the salmon for the salad. My kids burgers were okay and made with nice meat. The over all bill was $ 60 plus tip and it was not worth it at all. The location and prior restaurant at this site were delightful. I hope this new crowd can get it together. If not, they may not be around long.

This is now called the West Side Station and I definitely miss the Pawlet Station which recently changed hands. Very small portions and inexperienced waitstaff. Got one slice of toast, 2 potatoes, 1.5 slices of bacon and my coffee cup was empty during the entire breakfast. My omelet was good but small… left hungry with a $ 53 tab before tip! Nice try but in a small community where you depend on locals to support you, this definitely won’t fly. Very slow service and they don’t take credit cards. Sorry to say I won’t me back, what a total rip off.

I had the best pancakes there last week while visiting family. They rival the ones at New Morning Café in Sausalito, which are now second favs! And the Vermont Maple syrup was dreamy good tasting. I like the short-order cook a lot, she’s great. The potter across the way, Marion McChesney was just the perfect ending to a great meal. She was warm, welcoming and just a perfect Vermont story teller. The village is really quiet and charming.

The Station is a friendly place to go for a delicious dinner(comfort food) on a Friday or Saturday night. Breakfast and lunch are quite tasty, and always with fresh ingredients, as well. All and all a warm Vermont restaurant in a unhurried Vermont farming village! A beautiful and pleasnt drive from Castleton, Rutland, Manchester /Dorset or New York State. I recommend it highly. Very affordable! Great value! If your heading home from ski country go through Pawlet. You wont be disappointed!

One of our favorite breakfast spots. The specials are always great, and the service is amazing. They’re incredibly kind and they really take care of any little kids in your party. My two year old daughter loves it!

Great breakfast spot! Just to kind of place you’re looking for on a visit to Vermont. Charming little country diner, but with better, homemade food than you’re expecting. The owner/chef is super friendly and even gave me a free muffin for the road!
