Love the typical dishes I end up ordering: Chaufa mixta Lomo saltado Papa a la huancaina Jalea mixta

I came to this place because I live closer to it than any other Peruvian restaurant worth trying. A couple of my family members recommended and I give it 5stars for its authentic Peruvian flavor. Im Peruvian born and raised and have only come across a handful of places that give the Peruvian cuisine a great name in my 15+ years of living here. The best Peruvian food is in Elizabeth NJ but since I recently moved to Bergen county I had to find something around here. Ive been to many Peruvian restaurants in Paterson and Passaic and this by far is the BEST. The reviews on Unilocal don’t give this place justice because people rate places based on location whether it has parking or how«fancy» a place looks and other factors that I think shouldn’t affect how great they cook here. Don’t get me wrong this place is very clean and the staff is friendly but it has a n authentic Peruvian feel. Trust me when I say the food is GREAT!

The remodeling of this restaurant in the dinner area and the re making of their menu have changed the look of this authentic peruvian restaurant. Great service great food

Great Peruvian food but if your with a group just remember that everyone’s food does not come out at the same time, some of us were finish when the other parties food arrived. i guess that only happens in all Peruvian restaurants.

I went for lunch and I didn’t finish my sudado de mariscos and I wanted to have it for lunch for the next day they gave me someone else leftover so I called and complain they said that they couldn’t give the same thing. I was so upset because I don’t live in Paterson.

Parking is terrible, but the food is worth the walk. Aesthetically the place isn’t 5 star but once again the food makes up for its visual shortcomings. There are many Peruvian spots in town, and quite frankly they’re all about the same. But if time is of the essence and your stomach can’t wait, eat here. You’ll enjoy the food but that’s about it.

Don’t come to this place. We ordered ceviche de pescado, arroz chaufa de pollo, seco de res, and salchipapas. The ceviche was good, but the size was relatively small compared to the price($ 13). The arroz chaufa was eatable. The chicken was chewy and the some of the rice was old and hard. The seco de res was not good. My dad, who used to go to the north(of Peru) every year as a child, said: «este Plato esta fuera de lugar». Salchipapas? One would think this is a pretty easy dish. How can one mess up? Well, but the cheapest possible hot dog, and fry it in old oil. It was so greasy. The fries were not to tasty because of the oil. The guy that served us wasn’t too bad. The girl that picked up the plates after we were done was kinda all over the place. We are Peruvian btw. So we know what we want when we want some tasty Peruvian food. We thought we’d give this place a try, but we aren’t coming back.

Yup, I will get my fellow staff members into this place. The chaufa de carne is REALLY good, and the platanos maduros are well done(though they can be a little mroe ripe before they fry). Its a tad more expensive then I would like but they give you enough of the chaufa to split for later, thus saving«eating out» money. To explain what chaufa is, it is basically like Chinese pork fried rice but less greasy, more flavor and fresher ingredients. Horrible parking area so unless you have a tag team situation where you call ahead, have a friend drive and way in the car while you pick it up, it may not be worth it. Unless you work or live around here, it is a pain to get to. I do plan on trying other stuff here though.

I am going to write this review in English and Spanish so everyone understands. This place is MONEYHUNGRY!!! — I went to eat with two friends and our small children(3 kids under 4 yrs old) when we got the bill, we were surprised to see $ 24 added for«tip included» When we asked why the tip was included since we had such small party? Their response was that we were charged the tip because of the table(table for 6) — so if you go eat there with your children, make sure you sit your kids on your lap if you don’t want an automatic bill added for«the table» — Are you serious? The service was VERYSLOW, the staff so unfriendly, the entrees were brought to the table at different times, and then the waitress brought the food right after she brought the last entrée. We had a table full of plates. I would have never tipped her more than $ 5 for her service, it was supper bad! NOVAYANAHI!!!

The food is amazing!!! La malaya dorada is delicious, the lomo saltado has a lot of flavor, and even the desserts are really good especially the leche asada. I definitely recommend this restaurant

The food is pretty good, Salt is heavy handed but thats what makes it good. Portions are huge. It should be enjoyed family style. The tallarin with hauguayna sauce with thin steak on top is very rich. It’s like spaghetti with Peruvian alfredo sauce. It even comes with a fried/roasted potato with the steak that goes over the noodles. I like coming here over the other peruvian places on the opposite end of Market street because there is more parking and less human traffic. I don’t come here often, but when I do. I take my cholesterol meds and drink lots of water.

Food is great and offer generous portions. The to-go menu is is more($) than the dine-in version, so be aware. It’s not the nicest location, but the staff and food is good.

While not high on the ambiance scale, this is a gem of a find. One of the top Peruvian restaurants around. I’ve yet to have a bad meal here. PERUVIAN, NOTMEXICAN! DELICIOUS
