American Fried Chicken

Do your best to come here before sunset. It’s not in a great area and there are lots of shady looking characters milling around the front entrance, which made us opt for the drive thru (if this option was not available, we would have high tailed it right on back home). Chicken is tasty and well-​cooked, and prices are great. We’ve had food from here three times and chicken has been consistently good. Only downside is the area– maybe call your order in beforehand and zip through the drive thru! *Food is halal per owner.

So I basically got molested in here tonight.
American Fried Chicken is the kind of place your parents tell you not to go to, especially late at night. Yet American Fried Chicken is one of the few options open late, til 4am. They serve good fried chicken and mediocre sides, just like any Kennedy Fried Chicken. However, the counter is surrounded by bulletproof glass and the food/​money exchange goes through a rotating glass box.
But I give it 3 stars, because you can’t really win. You have the option of walking in or driving thru. Problem with walk-​ins, you have to deal with persistent beggars, some get a little too close for comfort (they’ll be all over you, asking for money). Problem with the drive thru, beggars will still ask you for money except this time, they’ll be all over your car.
Place does chicken right though.
