Review is of the Fifth Annual 2008 River Festival(2008).(Plenty of links in this review. .. total«Local Flavor»). The River Festival is basically a weekend-long Alive After Five( ) — type festival. It’s free to get in(donate to Ronald McDonald House if you like) and has a good line-up of craft tables and booths down Division Street, just before the admission gate(the Cliff’s Tattoo( ) and Clam Power( ) guys being among them). Along the river is the boat expo, with an in-water boat show, featuring fully restored early 20th c. Chris Crafts. The Lakeview Cemetery( ) Friends of the Dead also had a tent there, where they were revealing their plans for a tribute to the shipwreck victims of the Louis V. Place. There are the standard food vendors you’d find at any carnival, as well as stands by local eateries Bobbique( ), The Brick House( ), Gallo Tropical( ), and Red Smoke BBQ( ), who offered jerk chicken legs. Blue Point Brewery( ) had a station by the bandstand, see pic for performing lineup. Family friendly and plenty of open air drinking, beers are $ 5.. .
