Full disclosure — the foursome that I golf with likes to play golf for the fun of playing golf. We look for nice well-maintained courses but at the same time, we look for affordable courses. We don’t play many of the higher end /highly manicured courses but generally stick with the smaller but still well managed and well maintained courses. This is another of our favorite courses and is a another very affordable place to play golf. Weekday rates are $ 15 walking and $ 25 w/a cart while weekend rates are $ 20 walking and $ 32 w/a cart. This is another of the many courses in Central Ohio that were designed by Jack Kidwell. Willow Run is a very nice/scenic course with plenty of challenge for the average golfer. Staff is very friendly and personable. Willow Run has a very comfortable club house with typical golf course fare — hot dogs, chips, pop, beer, etc. Course Rating/Slope/Length(yards) * Blue 68.9/113/6,139 * White 67.8/111/5,839 * Red 69.9/113/5,087

Someone nailed the side of my car with a golf ball while I was parked in the parking lot of this course. Now I have a neat, surprisingly deep golf ball sized abscess in my passenger side door centered beneath the door handle. It was undoubtedly the work of someone in my group of approximately 150 golfers, but of course no one came forward, and the course disclaimed any responsibility. That would be a reasonable position if this was a bizarre, freak accident, or an act of deliberate malice, but it wasn’t. I spoke to Mark, the General Manager, and he told me he has several dents in his vehicle from rogue golf balls. And no wonder. The parking lot is positioned between the first and eighteenth fairways with nothing between your defenseless vehicle and a stray projectile but a few scattered trees. The course should put up a fence or some netting so that golfer’s vehicles are not in jeopardy. Courses should assume bad golfers. Let’s face it, half of us are happy to hit the ball within 30 degrees of a straight line. At Willow Run, a bad golfer risks being held liable for hundreds of dollars of damage when a ball goes rogue. And everyone parking here risks getting stuck with the bill when the bad golfer and the course shrugs their shoulders at the damage. I am not an avid golfer, and I only golfed here once as a participant in a fundraiser golf outing, so I’m not going to attempt to rate the overall suitability of this course, but my one experience here was a bad one and I wanted to share that. If you do decide to golf here, consider parking down the road. And if you aren’t confident in your ability to hit a ball straight, consider skipping the first and last holes. Or maybe just go somewhere else.

Good course between Alexandria & Pataskala. Great service & even better prices. If you are planning a golf outing for a fund raiser; these guys host a great party. There is a large picnic area with grills & tables under shelter. The course is well maintenanced & has a few well placed trees & water to make it interesting. And on occasion you may lose a ball in the fairway — at least I have on the course. They service Yuengling, Bud & Miller products. Hot dogs & burgers are good.
