My husband and I are new to Mississippi and on the recommendation of a coworker, we went for dinner. We got there about 5:30pm and very soon after it became packed! My husband had the chicken poboy and I had the shrimp. Both were AMAZING. We will be back!

Right around the corner from my house, it’s a basic poboy joint that has a cult following. They should install a revolving door… that’s how many people Pass through the doors each day at lunch. We recently went and got the very traditional roast beef poboy and barqs root beer with a small potato salad. Let me say, the roast beef is good and messy! My bf is from Arizona and said it was a bit too messy… but he ate his half and didn’t complain… lol.

Probably the best real New Orleans style poboy on the coast. I grew up in New Orleans but I’ve transplanted 20 years ago and this is where I go for the real deal. My only criticism is not the food but the service. I called in for a pickup is had to deal with a kid that told me that he could not change half of a full size roast beef. The wife and I have always split a roast beef dressed her side without tomatoes. I’m talking 20 years the same order and tonight the child with a wannabe beard tells me that he can’t do it. I’m thinking this manchild is making this up or the management has changed its business model and doesn’t care about customers. It’s cheap and I’m very disappointed, it’s a legitimate business not a kids lemonade stand, the should manage it as such.

I moved to the Pass and Married a local who loves the Roast Beef Poboy with extra gravy! I and Shrimp and Oyster kinda of guy. Coupled with bottles of Barq’s and Fries you would be hard pressed to find a better meal for the money!

This is not a bad place for a quick lunch. I’ve been spoiled by eating some of the best po-boys in the world when I lived in cajun country. That’s not to say these guys aren’t good, but they are not the best as a lot of people say! They are clean, reasonably priced and their service is excellent. It’s the gravy though… something about cajun roast beef, nothing else like it!

We drove in from Houston, and boy were we hungry for some good ol’e po-boys. The wife had the roast beef po-boy, I had the ½ shrimp ½ oyster po-boy. These sandwirches are«shut up good». You can’t get this in Houston. If your a loval you won’t understand or appreciate this review as much, as you here everyday to get it. If your visiting, try a bite here. Your tummy will thank you for it.

Excellent Po Boys! Incredible prices! This place hit the spot for me craving Po Boys and Corn Nuggets. I’ll be sure to hit this place every time I’m in town!

A friend of mine went to Pirate’s Cove years ago and wanted to go again after seeing recent TV commercials advertising its location on Menge Ave(it used to be on Hwy 90). It’s my first time in. My friend said this new place is nice, the old place was… well…old. This place is yellow & black, little more than a shack, with much of the favored parking being taken by employees, apparently, since we expected to see a full dining room but saw only one seated couple and a lady waiting on her take-out order. My friend got a roast beef po-boy and said it was as good as what was served at the old location. I had the oyster po-boy & onion rings and was not disappointed. Both our half-sandwiches, a Coke and some onion rings totaled just under $ 20, so it’s affordable. The atmosphere lends itself to lunch rather than dinner(they’re open M-Th 1030−8p and Fri-Sat 1030−9p, closed Sun). The po-boys at Fayard’s are just as good – I’d only come here with out-of-town visitors so we could sit down, plus see the water & pretty houses on the way.

Great place! I was working in Gulfport and a coworker brought me here for lunch. The best shrimp po-boy I’ve ever had. The po-boy was packed with shrimp, and you can taste how fresh they were. Add a Barq’s root beer IN A BOTTLE, and you’ve got a great lunch. The place is a little out of the way, but worth the trip.

Unexpected little gem. Got the shrimp poboy with a Barqs in a glass. The sandwich was one of the best poboys I’ve ever had! The bread was toasted well and had good flavor. The shrimp was tender and cooked perfectly. The only disappointment was the lack of outdoor seating. I will definitely return.

My dad loves this place so I was excited that I finally got to eat here.. We had shrimp Po’Boy’s(I had the combo oyster shrimp) and Barq’s root beer in the bottle and they were all very good. Lots of shrimp and fresh French bread. Worth the trip. If you are out playing the Oaks Golf course, stop by after your round of golf. They even have video games — galaga my favorite!

Went here because everyone talked about how amazing it was. I was underwhelmed. The beer battered fries were good but the bread for the po-boys was hard and chewy and seemed stale. Didn’t worry about my kids irritating people because it was a pretty casual place.

I’ve always had great po-boys here. They are typically pressed on fresh bread with quality ingredients. The half size is good for a reasonable human. Not sure why they took catfish off the menu as that was my favorite. I’ll probably be eating here less now. Hush puppies are good with a little spice.

Pirate’s Cove is an acquired taste. To appreciate this restaurant you must be a native coastian. While the food is nothing to write home about, it does have a unique enough flavor to keep you coming back.

This is my go-to for po-boys since I was born. I remember devouring roast beef po-boys and washing it down with a cold Barq’s as a child. I loved it when my parents took us here. Now when I travel back home, and I need my po-boy fix(because you can’t find a decent one in Dallas of course) I head here for the roast beef or shrimp po-boy. Go ahead and get the foot-long, you’ll make room for it all! And you’ll need a ton of napkins for that roast beef, it’s sloppy delicious! Last time in, they had built a new location and my google maps took me to the wrong place. iPhone maps won over this time. Make sure you go to the corner of Menge and E. 2nd St.

They rebuilt this place just like the original one on Beach Rd. in the Pass except of one interior wall at the entry and now the bathrooms are inside! I got a shrimp poboy at lunch around 12:30. They did not have a crowd but it took 20 minutes to get my grub. U don’t remember them«pressing» the poboy’s either when I visited pre-storm.Maybe I just forgot. Pressing should be left in Biloxi. That’s Biloxi style. Get the right bread. Poboy was good though. I used to like their bbq poboys years ago. I will go back and try that next time.

I visited Pirates Cove after years of missing out on the roast beef poboy i loved growing up. No roast beef poboy could live up to what Pirates Cove had to offer– until this time. I was quite upset to find that the roast beef is not the same as it used to be and was quite dry in fact. We drove 40 minutes out of the way for a poboy we could have gotten in better condition just right down the road from our house at Poboy Express. I will say, it was not the worst poboy I’ve had. Just didn’t live up to what I remember it being. Also, a few of the workers in the front that I could see did not seem to enjoy their work environment. Who knows– maybe it was just an off day that we visited and it’s not like this all the time but I definitely won’t be back anytime soon.

If you’re in Pass Christian(the Pass) and want a poboy this is where you should come. I found this place on Unilocal for lunch one day and was happy I did since lunch options are few and far between in the Pass. I was expecting a nautical theme based on the name but there was actually not much of a theme at all. It’s a nice little building but it’s very bare bones. This place is all about one thing. Poboys. If you want something else, go some place else. Seating is kind of strange, albeit plentiful. There are bar stools bar height tables facing walls, long benches and chairs(maybe 10 on each side) and a few four tops. The shrimp poboy was decent after I doctored it with hot sauce and ketchup, but I did not care for the roast beef at all. It was packed for lunch but didn’t feel crowded and our food came out fairly quickly. By the way, if you’re wanted by the law or just sketchy looking you probably shouldn’t come here. It seems as if every cop in town(and some from out of town) eats here. And they don’t even serve donuts. Ha.
