Gianni and Katrina are great hosts. Their love and passion is a great inspiration and it shows in how they take care of their guests. Their wine is delicious and the ambiance is a great and very welcoming.

I loved the service at this winery, though the wines weren’t my favorite in Paso. Because wine tastes are so subjective, in spite of what many wine reviewers may tell you, I don’t think this winery should suffer because I happen to like fruitier wines. This winery is better for those who want more leather, tobacco, and mineral forward wines. Also, I did really enjoy the port and the bottle it came in along with the ability to try wines not often offered in Paso. The server was knowledgeable and knew a far bit about the different grape varietals, like mouvedre, malbec, tempranillo, and tannat grapes. The pours were reasonably generous and the varietals were thoughtfully grouped. The atmosphere is cutesy, with a southwestern feel. Somewhere between the brightly painted walls, the eclectic southwestern Native American inspired art, ooh and the teepee, this place screamed coyote. I heard from some people nearby that the B&B this winery runs is also delightful. And best of all, they were open late on New Year’s Eve and smiled until we left. I had a good time here and hope you do too!

I went to the winery tour and tasting here at the wild coyote with no expectations. I left the winery not only tasting some of the best unfiltered wine I’ve ever had but also with a new appreciation for the hard work and culture that goes into producing high quality wines. Gianni was able to open my eyes to the hard work and dedication it takes to undergo the production of truly pure wine. I will be back to this winery hopefully to experience the bed and breakfast next. This place is not to be taken for granted and should be acknowledged and praised for their dynamic take on wine.

Very impressive winery. The owner truly cares about the craft and has passion for his business, not like those big wig wine culture vultures. I recommend the Malbec.

Great place. Great wine food and nicel to dogs! All wines are reds and wonderful! Foods are snack-type but filling. Friendly staff!

A great stop if you want to try a wide variety of red varietals. Great views from the tasting room and nice big tasting room bar. Some of the wines were a little pricey but its all worth what someone is willing to pay. I agree with others comments that there were more flies inside than I would have liked, but I don’t know how you fix that without losing the open feel they have going.

House of Reds Of all of the wineries we visited in the Paso Robles area, Wild Coyote was the best. The wine was beautiful with each variety providing an exceptional experience. If we had to make a difficult choice, our favorite is the Port but the Merlot, Syrah, Blend, and Tenpranillo were also excellent. This is the known as the house of reds because they bottle nothing but red wine. The scenery and structures on the estate are incredible. One reason why they are so special is that the owner is also an architect. He has selected just the right views and setting for the buildings. They fit the countryside beautifully and provide fabulous venues. This tasting room is truly special. If you are interested in staying in the area, you might want to consider the B&B on the property. Although we didn’t stay there, it is certainly something we will consider in the future. Although there was a $ 10 charge for the tasting, it was applied to the purchase of our wine. We also received a discount due to purchasing two or more bottles. Open daily 11:00 — 5:00.

My wife and I spent 2 mid-week nights at the Coyote as a birthday getaway, and it exceeded expectations. The in-room breakfasts are delicious and generous; Kati graciously came up with a gluten-free option! The New Mexico style is unexpected and cleverly executed, with gorgeous vistas across the West Paso wine country from(I think) each room.(Ours was Navajo.) The B&B makes, in fact, a wonderful base for exploring this burgeoning winegrowing district, rich with its own history and soaked in rural California beauty. You won’t be disappointed at Wild Coyote. It’s definitely on our«A» list from now on.

BEWARE!!! DONOTBOOKHERE! I booked over the phone for a 1 night stay during the week, and spoke with Gianni. My friends(visiting from east coast) and I were driving down from SF and thought of staying in Paso Robles. During the call to book, Gianni assured me that their cancellation policy was 30 day notice before arriving. I was 34 days outside, so knew I had a couple days to think it over. I provided my credit card details and made my reservation. The next day, after realizing Santa Barbara would be a better place to show my friends from the east coast, I called Wild Coyote to cancel my stay. I left a voicemail stating I had spoken to Gianni, repeated the policy as he’d described it to me, and assured them I’d keep them front of mind for future visits. What ensued after this vm can be summed up as unprofessional bait-and-switch tactics which showed me the true business model wild coyote operates under. Gianni emailed me stating there was a $ 100 admin fee to cancel! I found this ridiculous as he never mentioned this over the phone. After several more voicemails answered by email only, Gianni and Wild Coyote will be keeping my $ 100, and losing all of my potential future business. I was polite, reasonable asking that they use the $ 100 as credit for a future stay as I was organizing a girls weekend next Spring, and received only rude and passive aggressive references to the agreement’s fine print which I wasn’t presented. Vindication can only be found in my association with several California wine festivals — safe to say Wild Coyote’s actions will be conveyed to their producers.

This place should get five stars for the looks of the building and the tipi outside. However the place was riddled with flies and the wine server didn’t really seem like she was happy to be there. I may be reading her wrong but that’s just how I felt. The inside was themed correctly but there was just too many things on the wall in my opinion. It was quite busy, lots of inputs. Don’t get me wrong I liked this place but just a couple of my personal critiques. The wine was average but it was the last place we visited on our last day in Paso. Unfortunately when you visit a lot of wineries the tastes you do aren’t always the best due to you possibly being a little tipsy already but hey, lets just have some fun. My girlfriend went into the tipi that specifically said don’t go into it but I guess she isn’t the only one that read the sign too late. A lot of the reviews here seem to be from the BnB which seems to be pretty amazing. May have to check that out sometime! This winery favors reds if I remember correctly as most in Paso. Bring water and try and stay cool as this area is a furnace, but its a good heat!

One of a kind B & B winery in Paso Robles!!! My wife and I stayed the weekend of July 24th. We first got there we were greeted by Diane and right away she made us feel very comfortable. This place was absolutely awesome my wife and I really loved all the décor in our room, we stayed in the Pueblo room. We had a tour of the winery with Gianni the owner and he was very informative in everything from the 1st step to the last on how they make the wine. Gave us a backround on how he started the winery and the design of the buildings. Katie who is Gianni’s wife made breakfast for us Saturday and Sunday morning and it was delicious, it was just like a home cook meal and not something you get at a fast food place. Diane was absolutely wonderful her sense of humor was great she made our experience wine tasting great, every winery should have a Diane. The view from our patio was amazing specially at night it was so quiet a peaceful. My wife and I drank wine and felt like we were in a little peace of heaven. We would definitely come back and stay there again and would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you Gianni, Katie, Diane and the rest of the staff. Carlos and Iris

Stayed here in the Navaho room and thoroughly enjoyed it. Better than expected. It’s really hard to describe in writing but I will definitely be back. the room was private and clean with everything you need inside. A mini fridge, coffee maker, lcd tv, microwave however it feels basic and very comfortable. It also has a leather love seat that reclines that we really enjoyed. Best of all there is a private patio area for each suite that is geat. You can be on your patio enjoying a bottle of wine or eating without disturbing anyone or being disturbed. Very private. Jacuzzi outside. Amazing views of rolling hills lined with grape vines. Every now and then you can see sheep being herded in the distance that’s is far enough away to enjoy. I can’t say enough about this place. The wine was so good that we became a club member. We received our wine about a week later so we’re set. The restaurant is not open regularly but there are many choices within about 15 minutes away. This place is off the beaten path but close enough to anything you may need that you can’t find in the tasting room. Lastly the breakfast was incredible. Very thoughtfully prepared, hot and home made. It was brought to our room in the morning and filled us up through lunch… Reserve and go here… you won’t be dissapointed.

Wild Coyote is our favorite place to stay while visiting the Paso wineries. This visit was our best by far! As a gift to our daughter for earning her doctorate degree we rented the entire place! All of the casitas were filled with our close friends. We enjoyed the patio for our breakfasts, dinners, wines and relaxing in the spa! During the day it was wine tasting to different wineries in the area. To say Gianni, Katie and Diane are gracious hosts is not even close. They are by far the best and genuine people we have ever met! They did everything to assure our stay and our guests were wonderful, meaningful and memorable! We have been members for a few years now and their wines are always a wow! I had misgivings about writing such a good review, as our secret getaway may not stay such a secret! Thanks again to Wild Coyote for making a very important time in our daughters and our life so wonderful!

I was really disappointed in the customer service at this winery. We came here because it was 4:45 and it was one of the few wineries that didn’t close until 6pm. Great! And and it looked like it had a pretty atmosphere. This was a bad assumption. The girl working hurried us through our tasting and wouldn’t let us drink our glass outside and enjoy the view. We bought a couple bottles of wine, crackers and cheese and I regret it because I’d rather spend money on a winery that treated me well. She was really rude and scolded me for not giving my glass back in a timely manner. If it was closing early, she should have said. It’s Memorial Day weekend and the place is advertised to stay open until 6pm. We left at 5:40.

One of the first wineries I ever went to years back. I always have the best experience when I go. Everyone is so personable and helpful and are very educated in the wines that are available for tasting and purchase. I will definitely be going back and this last time joined the wine club.

Gianni has created a warm, fun, laid back space that welcomes all travelers excited by the sheer opportunity to appreciate the land and hard work needed to run a successful winery. Very personable and creative. Uses sustainable practices in cultivating his grapes. We really enjoyed our moments with him and highly recommend getting off of the beaten path to visit this welcoming establishment.

One of my favorite wineries in Paso. Holy mackerel the only reason we visited the place was I am a believer in intuition and in luck. We were on our way to some other joint when I spotted, off to my left, a winery done up in New Mexico Pueblo architectural trappings; this is a rarity out here in California, not something you see much of in this part of the country. The place is PURE New Mexico! And I think you should always, during your day in wine country, divert. What I mean is if you see something cool looking, stop. I will admit to a fear that the owner was trying to seduce us into bad wine with cool architecture. Blur those fears; quieted with gentle sips. Wild Coyote is a great winery. The gestalt of Wild Coyote is avoiding blends: they do 100% varietals in all of their higher line offerings. I think that is a waste of time, myself, and it is witnessed by the one wine they DO blend: House Of Reds. It is a delicious bottle of wine. We have drank at least 20 of them as a family in our happy gaggles and they are never a disappointing sip. But their single vintage offerings are also outstanding and sharing them on the veranda overlooking the vineyards on Adelaida Rd is a singular joy. Sweet fun in the central coast. Go see them.

I freaking love the Little Fawn Port here, and the El Diablo Malbec isn’t too bad either. One of my favorite wineries. I always get a few bottles passing through here or from ordering online. They have a wine club like most winery estates, a tour and they also have a bed and breakfast here.

For $ 10 you get 10 tastings, not glasses, tastings. Literally just enough to taste. Which is a good idea considering you probably want to make it to more than just a couple wineries while you are out here. And you get to keep the glass here. The majority of the wines are reds. And to be honest, I was at Opolo first and came here by recommendation, but I dont feel like anything that I had here topped what I had at Opolo. There are several different varietals available at Wild Coyote, so you may find something you like better than I did. However, their port was very delicious without being syrupy sweet. Almost 20% alcohol here too. In general, their wines have a higher alcohol content than most others. But this port was pretty distinctive. Definitely wont find another quite like it in the area. I also felt like my tasting went really quickly. The pourer was talking very fast and it gave me this very fast paced vibe. I didnt care for that too much. I didnt really feel like I could connect with the person or the winery.
