Had a great time here with great customer service from Julie! Great friendly feel with absolutely amazing selections.

My lovely lady and I recently visited Tobin James Cellars and stayed overnight in the Bordello guest room. It was a fun and romantic experience to say the least. As James Gang wine club members for over 15 years, they always roll out the red carpet and allow us to taste their long list of reserves. The tasting room is always vibrant, lively and full of laughter. If you get lucky, Tobin James or Lance Silver will be around to sign your bottles. Our favorites are the Blue Moon Syrah and the Silver Reserve Zinfandel. The have multiple varietals to choose from and the tastings are always free. We love this place!

Kylee is the greatest, if you are going in to Tobin which is a must in Paso then it is a must to see Kylee, she is so great and the customer service is out of this world!!!

The wines are ok and fairly inexpensive. The tasting room has absolutely NO special feel to it. It is by the freeway and is crowded and felt like dive bar.

If you’re in the area, you have to stop by Tobin James! The tasting is complimentary, which was a nice surprise. ALL of the wines were terrific, and we had to buy the rose! The atmosphere is cool, and the restroom is great too lol. Will definitely be back!!!

Fun place — great casual atmosphere. Ione and Jill were awesome and made our experience special with personal recommendations for our tastes. Bought 6 bottles to take home and enjoy.

This place has a nice rustic ambiance to it! It felt a bit too commercialized since they had way too much going on. Overall though they had a pretty good selection. My top pick would have to be the San giovese, the chardonnay then their cab.

What a cool place!!! Free tasting(what???), really cool staff(thanks Chris), fun facility, good wine. What more could you ask for? Try the Lagrein! We’ll be back for sure!

Without exaggeration, hands down, best winery on the planet(imho). Tobey, Lance, Claire and the gang’s focus on having fun while making great wines, validates this claim.

I gave it three stars because the tasting room is cute, the servers are friendly and the tasting is free. The wine gets 2 stars. All the reds are very light-bodied and acidic like a Mediterranean style wine with short finish and hard to distinguish the grape varietal. The 2013 radiance unoaked Chardonnay is pretty good though.

Just had another fabulous time! I brought a group of 19, and we were treated so well by Chris and Kylee! Must of us are members and another from our group joined on Saturday.

The minute I walked into this place I knew I was going to love it. The energy and customer service is top level. Then I tasted the wine and fell in love. I was thrilled to get my first package and drink it all. Then I got the news that I had breast cancer. I decided I needed to cancel my membership because of the long road I had ahead of me. So, when I called to cancel they were so caring. Today I received a get well card signed by every employee. Brought me to tears. What a great place to do something like that for me. and I promise I will be back.

We came in here finally after a couple years of going to paso Robles on vacation. So happy we finally made a stop! Gaetano was a great bartender. He gave great customer service and was very informative on all of the wines. We became members and are happy about it! So many great wines to choose from and the winery is gorgeous! Thanks again for great customer service! He took care of our son as well! Made him feel like California is full of great people and it is!

As my wife and I finished up on our anniversary weekend, we decided to stop into our favorite winery. Tobin set us up in their Sun Room for the night. Bethany took real good care of us and made sure everything went well. Tobin even had a bottle of their fine champagne readily available and the bottle was signed to commemorate our anniversary. AJ aka Frenchy wrote us a nice message on a bottle of Fat Boy in French for us. The wine is superb, the people are very friendly and accommodating, and our trip was very memorable and special. Thanks again Tobin James

If I would have to choose 1 winery out of Paso Robles, this would it! Excellent staff, great wine selection. Up to 20 Free tastings. They reserved a whole wine bar just for us, we were 8. It was my friends anniversary and they gave them a complimentary Anniversary bottle, just for stopping by!

Stopped in to a VERY busy and loud tasting room late in the day. We nearly left because we were looking for a more laid back atmosphere but most wineries close at 5 and Tobin James is open until 6. Since it was 4:45 we decided to stay. I’m glad we did because we had a great time. Justin served us a bunch of different wines, maybe 10 kinds, detailing the high points of each. And the tastings were free, which is rare these days. We ended up leaving with 3 bottles of excellent wine. Like I said, this place is a party, but if you don’t mind all the action, you’ll come away with some good wine.

Conveniently located arriving to Paseo Robles from the east, this was our first wine tasting stop. For being a Tuesday before noon — new year’s eve week. I was surprised how busy all three tasting areas were. Tastings were complimentary and if you join the wine club which is complimentary you’ll receive 15% discounts on bottles and 20% on cases. In addition, for $ 165.00 per shipment you’ll receive eight bottles of wine in the spring and fall and are sent to your residence in CA at no charge. The selection was solid and the tasting experience was intimate and different from Napa in a positive way. I didn’t opt to join club since this was our first stop but I saw many loading up cases and joining their wine club. Service from my female wine pourer was friendly and knowledgeable, I left her a generous gratuity.

Tobin James Cellars is one of the first wineries you encounter heading to Paso Robles from Interstate 5. The attractive winery is located just off Highway 46 and is very popular. After finding a parking spot, you can linger around the outside with an upscale cowboy feel or just head inside for the wine. The main tasting area in the winery is large and continues the upscale Western theme. They offer free tastings of many different varietals, however they seem to be more focused on quantity and turnover. I was not overly impressed by the wine, although I did like the Petite Sirah and Port. The staff was pleasant and helpful, and one of them was teaching newbies about color and legs. This is a great value and tourist winery producing good table wine. Everyone was enjoying themselves in the fun and relaxed atmosphere. You can also find their wine in limited distribution throughout the region in case you cannot make it in person.

Just enjoyed our wine tasting experience with Jill our pourer. She us from Paseo Robles. Great winery and ended up joining the wine club. Which is kinda cool since we are from temecula, the new Napa!
