SO disappointed that this place’s quality control and customer service standards seem to be really slipping. The provide so many topping options which is cool, but this time the burgers were even more overcooked than the first time we tried this place, and one of our burgers was missing the cheese. I called to let them know and they offered to refund me… for the cheese. Seriously? Okay, I’m done. I’ll just go to In and Out Burger or Eureka in SLO.

I’m sorry but I’m not ready to spend $ 7.50 on a Burger with a fancy name attached to it, I also found the menu really complicated, I had to walk out. Is there any simple Burger place in Paso Robles!!! I’m visiting from LA and we have plenty of grilled Burger places were you can get a Burger fries and a coke for under $ 6.00

I’ve loved every burger I’ve had here. Also one morning I went in to see if they do any breakfast sandwiches and the cook said no but he’d make me an egg sandwich and they’d just ring me up for $ 5. And it was delicious. Made my day.

Stopped through on our way from SLO to the Bay Area. Was craving a solid sandwich or burger, and had hit a few duds already in the SLO area. Little TJ’s, an unassuming hole in the wall next to a medical center and the freeway, really surprised me. At first I was a little intimidated by the custom burger order process, but took a breath and dove in. There’s really no excuse for having a bad burger here — you can pick the way they cook it, what toppings you want, what bun, what kind of meat, condiments, etc. etc. and they didn’t mess up one part of my order. Curly fries were a solid side — crisp and not greasy. Friendly service, clean interior, and pleasant outdoor seating in the shade. A small detail, but I really love that they wrap the burger in parchment so I can hold it without the interior falling out. Oddly, that seals it for me on this place. That and the burgers are cooked perfectly at a great price($ 5 for a custom ¼-lb.er). The best burgers I’ve had in SLO county. We’ll be back!

Solid burgers! I really like the ability to create your own burger because you get exactly what you want. Although for me, I really like the Roblan… like a western bacon burger. The meat was cooked well and it had a great thickness. The other great thing is all the varieties of sides you can choose from… the sweet potato fries & onion rings are my favorite. Definitely go here if you are looking for a great burger with tons of options!

A teriyaki chicken sandwich was the first thing I tried here when a co-worker and I were nearby for lunch and a burger didn’t sound good. The chicken sandwich was not bad but nothing out of the ordinary. Since then I’ve been back a couple of times for burgers and the do much better with beef. Obviously a good burger starts with good beef and they get it right. Then you can go with one of the stock burgers or a DIY burger with the wide assortment of cheeses, peppers, sauces, and the like. The fries are passable but not amazing. The prices are reasonable and the service is pretty good considering all they need to do is take your order at the counter and set it on the table. It’s kind of hard to mess that up but plenty of other places do. Another positive: it’s within about a mile of my house and my office.

A build your own burger joint, … Good food. Seating inside was clean and well kept. Lacked enough outside seating. T.J.‘s is in a small stripmall sharing with 2 other food establishments. I couldn’t tell what outdoor seating was for what place. Overall, … I liked it!

I can’t exactly remember the burger, but had a ½ pounder cheeseburger something something… Positives + Fresh burger and ingredients. + HOMEMADEPOTATOCHIPS were part of the menu on my visit. Even the girl who worked there(employed there approximately 1 year) was suprised to see someone order it for the very first time. Just these homemade chips alone will have me stopping by for repeat visits. + Forms with markers are provided to create your own custom burger. Negatives — They fucked up my burger temp(my medium rare was overcooked), but humbly gladly cooked another one for me. This review would’ve been a fiver — docked ‘em one star for this. Wants * Make the chips a little thicker, enough to break your teeth, and sure enough I’ll be roadtripping back to T.J.‘s.

How can you possibly go wrong when you get to design your very own burger?! You can’t! Personally I love the Kahuna! Their list of side choices is amazing and their fried zuchinni are the bomb! I always take family here when they are in town! Tasty food, great prices and friendly staff all culminate in one place and it’s a thing of NOM!

YUM! My family and I needed a lunch stop while driving from the Bay Area to Santa Barbara and found this little gem on Unilocal.Burger joints are not my first choice for a lunch stop, but the fact that TJ’s has so many other options for a burger besides beef cinched the deal. I am NOT kidding when I say options! You can customize your burger right down to stuffing the meat with jalapeños or blue cheese! The options for sides is great too… everything from fried green beans to sweet potato fries. I ended up ordering a portobello mushroom burger on a brioche bun with swiss, avocado, and grilled onions. It was DELICIOUS! My son and husband both said their beef burgers were really good. This place will definitely be a regular stop for us any time we are driving through town!

Staying in town for work and TJ’s is in my hotel parking lot. It’s a small family owned restaurant from the looks of it. They had a great menu from special Burgers to build your own. Lots of options. I got the Big Kahuna with only one ¼ lb patty. Very good, cooked to order, good quality meat. I recommend TJ’s, good food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

If your looking for a good custom burger this is the place! TJs Grill is one of the best burger places in paso. Im super picky when it comes to my food and this place does a good job at letting you choose what you want on your burger you fill out a check list and they make it just the way you want! Everything is always fresh and taste great! Most people on Unilocal just want to complain but this place deserves 5 star reviews!

The fact other reviews have less than 5 stars just cements for me the fact most people on Unilocal are just complainers. There is nothing to complain about here! The best burger I have had in a really long time and I can not wait to go back and try their many many options. I love that I get to pick what I want on the burger(and they have quite a few ready to go options if you don’t like choices!) Even well done my burger was nice and juicy(only well done as I can’t eat anything not right now, damn pregnancy!) So many sides options(I think like 4 different options on fries alone?) I had to come review because just thinking about it again makes my mouth water. So fresh and yummy! And such cute little white boxes for packaging! Also their facebook page says they deliver!

Def one of the best burgers in town. This place is off to a good start. A place that’ll basically fry anything… is a friend of mine!

One of the better burger options in the area, however not keen on the whole fill out the checklist and hand it to the cashier deal(1.5 stars). I would drop that if I were them — doesn’t work for their style of place IMHO. Burgers are tasty(4.5 stars) and interesting selection of pre-designed burgers. Location is not great either, in an a small strip mall and a hard to access parking lot if you are coming from the east on Niblick — but I wouldn’t dock stars for that. They take time making quality burgers so don’t expect fast food speed. Agree with the other reviewers, they seem to be working the kinks out and finding an identity for the place still. Paperless receipts(emailed, that’s fine) and iPhone checkouts with a credit card. Just a bit rough around the edges. Keep the food quality tho — top notch.

We had TJ’s for the third time(in 6 mos.) last night. Oddly, rather than«ironing out the kinks», they seem to be declining. Our first visit we ate-in all 5 of us ordered burgers, fries and an order of fried zucchini. All the sides are pre-packaged frozen. The meal was o.k. The second visit we had company here at the house, and ordered take out. One burger was missing the A-1 sauce and Onion(paid extra for). That really sucked because they pack everything in these cute little boxes and to have to dig through and make sure it’s correct before you leave the place to take it home, would be huge pain in the a**! Regardless, last night we did a phone order and picked up. They really need to spend a little extra time training the nice girl behind the counter. During our phone order, she kept yelling, «What?» to my husband. Phone etiquette, anyone? When we got there, she had one guy trying to figure out the order form. Rather than kindly ask him to read over the form while she rings us up, she spends over 5 minutes walking him through the order form. Then she gets to us. Midway through, out of the blue, she screams from the counter«is everything all right?» to the lone party sitting at a table talking amongst themselves. Good lord, was she TRYING to let our food get cold? By the time we got home, our large fries were all mushy. The burgers we ordered med well were beyond well done. I couldn’t tell you how much we paid for anything, because the receipt lists everything as «dept. ___» I think she charged us for the small fry we initially ordered, as well as the large fry we up graded to. Next time, I will stick with Bronco Burger or take a little drive out to Sylvesters– their zucchini is better anyways.
