Food as art! We shared the chicken salad and the meat/cheese plate. Wow. The cheeses were well curated and the portions perfect. The salad was an unexpected mix of greens/grains and chicken. Delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try something else.

Wonderful and warm local service. Highly recommend ordering the Ploughman’s Lunch & Bistro Board paired with Paso Robles’ local Asuncion Ridge Sauvingnon Blanc. Absolute perfection for a lunch for 2.

Really fresh imaginative dishes. Had the pea soup with watercress & parsley. Had the meatball open faced sandwich with a Parmesan chip. Both were excellent. Nice outdoor patio seating as well.

Small but charming patio — delicious lunch and great service. They allowed dogs outside so we enjoyed making friends with a sweet Golden Retriever.

Great tiny place! Delicious food! The soup of the day was super unusual! Had the grinder sandwich and that was yummy also! I highly recommend this place for cheese also!

Started our paso weekend off right by making this our first stop after our three hour drive! This place is absolutely adorable. When you walk in, it feels like your transport to a different time in Europe. The space is split between a sit-down café and an artisanal cheese shop. The guy behind the counter is a cheese expert! And the wait staff is so warm and charming. The food was my fave part! I had the sandwich with Italian meats/cheese/horseradish, one friend had the meatball sandwich and the other friend had the lentil salad. I’ve been dreaming about that lentil salad since our romantic visit to this little café! This place is sophisticated in both the ambiance and in food. Definitely don’t pass this place up if you have the chance to go!

This is the a great little gem, makes you feel like your having a meal in your own house. Service was friendly, slower but don’t worry the wait is worth it; and just know there is only 2 people working this restaurant. Also make sure you try the cheese shop, they have great variety.

Consistently the meals are amazing. The menu is simple but the food is complicated and extraordinary yet so basic. I wish they were open for dinner and had an expanded menu with a few more vegi options, simply because I would like to eat here more often. So tasty!

Great food and simple setting. Every sandwich and salad we tried we loved. Grilled manchego cheese with quince paste, if u don’t like the sweet ask without but it was very good. I loved the grinder and my son loved the meatball sandwich. Salad was awesome Definite stop.

Little place with great ambiance, high quality delicious food, and welcoming and warm wait staff. The root vegetable salad was great. And on our cheese plate, the grilled«bread cheese» with drizzled honey was amazing. Highly recommended. We will be back.

We were driving through Paso Robles on our way back to the Bay Area and decided to Unilocal places to eat. This place had 5 stars so we said what the heck let’s try it. Those 5 star ratings are well deserved! Everything we ate was delicious and the service was great! We ordered the open faced meatball sandwich and the lentil and root vegetable salad. The flavors of both were delectable! I had a glass of Rose which was delish. We were very impressed!!! We will be back next time we pass through this town!

Another Unilocal victory! Small cozy dining area with outside dining but only about 6 total tables. Small menu with salads, soups, and appetizers. It shares space with a Cheese shop that also sells charcuterie. We both had the Grilled cheese which it wonderfully grilled sourdough bread with Manchego cheese snd a hint of sweetness from added quince paste. The soup of the day was a squash/pepper purée with pumpkin seeds. It was a perfect compliment to the sandwich. A wonderful choice!

Vegie vegetarian and vegan are well served at this excellent little restaurant. Also great creative salads, sausages, cheese plates, wines and desserts. Top notch! Outside dining is dog friendly.

Really loved this little place. Super cute! We ordered the Plowman’s Platter(Very tasty but only had 2 kinds of cheeses — for $ 15 I was hoping for more but still very good) and the Butcher’s Block(had plenty and a good variety — totally delicious). We sat out on the little patio due to our mischievous toddler companion. The inside was so cute and I think we would have preferred to sit in there but the size was stroller prohibitive — no big. The weather was nice but it’s loud outside due to the traffic. I will say if you’re looking for gourmet cheese(to take out or eat in), this is the place to go in Paso!

This place is amazing!!! Local cheeses with so much verity. The wine list was so diverse. The service was impeccable. Morgan was so knowable with her wines and the food on the menu. With local wines from the area. The grilled cheese was the best! The salad are so unique. I love great salads and this place has the best salads I’ve ever had. I am a big organic local shopper and consumer. This place was pet friendly with a nice little deck. Morgan our server was the BEST!!! Also she helped us with where to eat and stay on our trip to Morro Bay. So happy we found this little gem!!!

Dining in or out I chose out as it was warm not hot and I’ve had it with the fog belt where I live Very cute set up and super easy off and on freeway Saturday parking at noon was easy I couldn’t believe it Had the charcuterie board as yesterday was fish only fasting Friday ha so really making up for it Good wine list Quick nice servers Took the meatball sandwich to go for my husband They packed it up separate so wouldn’t get the bread soggy As I’m traveling this is great I can show up and feed the bear tonight easy peasy

So, we’ve been coming here for months now and this is a hidden downtown gem. The service is charming and personal. The food is sublime. It’s cozy and perfect for girlfriend lunches and even a quick bite on your own while running errands.

My wife and I picked Next Door Bistro as our lunch destination on a drive home along US101, attracted by the five stars on Unilocal. It’s always great to have that five star rating confirmed by the dining experience. Like many reviewers, we shared a grilled cheese sandwich and a roots and greens salad, both of which were superb. Fresh, top quality ingredients, perfectly complementary flavors, and little surprises like quince paste on the sandwich and serving the salad warm turned a quick stop for lunch into a big treat that we’ll definitely repeat on a future trip. The inside dining room seats about ten, and there’s room for about that many more on the sidewalk tables. Perfect for couples or groups of four but not large parties. Service was friendly and attentive, payment quick and easy with Square. We’ll definitely be back.

A real winner for lunch or late afternoon wine & charcuterie in Paso! It is a small restaurant with minimal seating and that is part of it’s charm. I dined for lunch the other day and the service was friendly and attentive. The food was spectacular. I rate it top notch for creativity and taste. I was super impressed with their Black Bean Soup and the Italian Farro Salad. Both were exceptional.
