It’s honestly just mehhhh. The menus are a bit odd and the selection of actual BBQ is lacking. How do you have a big BBQ restaurant without briskit??? I had a pulled pork mini sandwich. It was just alright. Honestly nothing special. And for the price, I expected a little bit more flavor. The ambiance is nice, and the place is decorated pretty cool, but honestly you aren’t missing anything here. There really isn’t great BBQ in Paso, which is pathetic considering the amount of country folk in the area.

For example, taco prices went up 50% and my fish taco has one tiny piece of fish. About 1⁄3 the amount of meat it used to have. Pathetic. Cmon Rog!!!

The food was nasty ribs was boiled with bbq sauce thrown on them. Don’t waste your money going to a place that don’t have good service. Blend food and luke warm food.

This was our first and last time. The server did the best he coukd to make up for slow, and I mean slow service from the kitchen. The prices are high for what you get and the food is just not that good. When my order finally arrived it was cold, the fries we like crunchy fried sticks with littke to no fkavor. Save yourself two things, money and time! Way too many other choices in the area that are so much better.

Came here for a Birthday Dinner… Had excellent(!) Big Bubba Combo and a burger with fries and onion rings. Everything was really very good. Except the fries… They were HEAVENLY! Very nice staff — they even sang for me. Plus I got 15 $ off my bill. Thank you Big Bubba!

Food portions are huge. But everything was delicious. I would come back again and again. And … $ 2 margaritas. My new favorite spot.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. The food is in the name. BAD. The meat was like chewing shoe leather. Bbq is about slow cooking tough meat and making it tender. Here they took tough meat and made it more tough. Do yourself a favor, walk the three driveways towards the freeway like we did and get pizza. The pizza was out of this world.

When we are passing thru Paso Robles we try to stop for lunch at Big Bubbas Bad Bbq. The tri tip/ribs and salads are really great… today we sat outside in the sun… great break on our way back home

What caught my eye about Bubba’s was its unique exterior decorations that called back to a time of high western influence. Inside it was just like that with tables made of refurbished pallets, barrels, rail road spikes, and plenty of lit up cowboy lights. Bubba’s menu was hard to choose from the many different bbq options that called to me. I decided to go a bit outside the norm and get the pulled pork nachos, and I will tell you what I made a mistake not getting the ½ portion because now I have nachos for a week, it was HUGE! On tap they had the usual beers and of course one of my favorites being shock top, so you cant go wrong if your looking for something simple. All and all great place to stop into, was walking distance from the hotel which was great after having a few drinks.

I was in a group of five adults who came for dinner tonight and shared a Family Feast and a sampler. In the future I’d just do the feast, as it was plenty of food for 5. The ribs were crazy good and the pulled pork was a huge hit. For sides we did Texas toast, fries, and salad. All were really good. Our waitress Taylor was on point. Our drinks were filled quickly and we never wanted for anything. I read a lot of the reviews before coming and realize this place is hit or miss. It looks like we had a lucky night. Maybe it is time to give it another chance?

What can I say that hasn’t been said before… This was my 1st time here and last time. Ribs where cold! Not to mention the bbq wasn’t that good. I got Bubba’s Combo… 2 beef ribs, 2 pork ribs, and ¼ chicken… ate 1 of each rib, got a box for the rest. Threw them away along the road, maybe a coyote will eat them(hope not). Did not like the bbq sauce, there seems to be way to much smoke or something. I’m just an average guy, not a food critic, I’ve had my share of bbq and I have to say this was probably the worse. Place was practically empty on a Saturday night… This should a been a big red flag. Staff was very friendly, they get 5 stars.

The service was great. The food not so much. Don’t order the nachos or the bbq beef or pulled pork sandwiches. The bbq sauce is too sweet. When you order your sandwich, it will be drenched in bbq sauce and it’s way overwhelming. The nachos were cold and probably the worst nachos ever made.

Kinda standard for BBQ. Took a few of my Soldiers out for lunch and my 1SG suggested here. We ordered this family thing and got a ton of food with unlimited sides! Yeah, too much food. It’s all just ok. The chicken, ribs, coleslaw, all of it, it’s all just ok.

Hi my son and I only liked the fake smiley faces of the staff, how does this place stay open food is real bad, music was in your face loud and make my stomach ache. As you have noticed the foods for me give me a break ribs broke a tooth. I think I will open a business and put them out of sorry don’t waste your time.

The onion rings and server were great! The rest of the experience was not good. We visited at 5PM on a weekend. The outside of the restaurant smelled like rotting garbage, not like a restaurant that is preparing barbecue should. We killed 5 flies at our indoor table. The spicy chicken sandwich was 90% raw. The tri-tip did not taste barbecued(we are KCBS certified barbecue judges). I wanted to contact the owners first about the condition of their business because we were business owners and would have wanted to know about this kind of thing. However, the only way to contact the business was by phone and I doubt this info would have gotten past the person on the phone :/ I don’t think we would go back or recommend this restaurant.

Hello there, First, I was close to giving them 3 stars, but… After close scrutinizing of the facts, sleepless nights(okay, just one… Maybe), and the rethinking of every aspect of my experience. I gave them 2 stars. First, service was very good. Was seated promptly, then moved away from the kid’s birthday party they put me ‘next to’, and then Taylor was pleasant and friendly. Because of this, I added a star. The only problem with service was that I was only half way through eating the Wings when the sandwich arrived, so by the time I finished the Wings(didn’t take to long ;), the Sandwich and fries had cooled… just a bit. It was not that busy and I think Taylor saw that I was disappointed, but did nothing. Now the food. I had the bottomless Pepsi and that was perfect, man, do I like Pepsi. I then had the Buffalo Wings($ 11.29) — The 8 wings for $ 12 were NOT worth it, not even close. The wings were a lower grade, smallish, a bit mushy(frozen?), and had two ‘legs’, and 6 ‘wings’, again all smallish. Now, the Wing sauce was literally one of the best Wing sauces I have ever had, it was exceptional, great taste and very spicy, but not burn the sh*t out of my mouth spicy, more like a sweaty forehead spicy. But the Wings, not worth it. I next had the Tri-Bubba Tip sandwich($ 15.99). This was very tasty, good portion, but not worth $ 16.00… maybe $ 9.99). Now, after triple checking the meat inside the sandwich, I’d have to say(with 32 years in F & B), it wasn’t tri-tip, more of a roast; tasty, but it’s supposed to be a tri-tip sandwich. And if it was tri-tip(but don’t think so), it wasn’t BBQ’ed. It was oven roasted maybe, maybe slow cooker, I think it was just a roast. The french fries were excellent if you enjoy crispy, but a fairly small portion. The Plum Sauce that accompanied the sandwich was excellent. They do know how to make some exceptional sauces. So, my bill was $ 32.69(just me) for sandwich, 8 small wings, small order of fries, soda. Definitely NOT worth it. I would give this place a pass. But if you want BBQ in Paso, my understanding from the desk clerk is that this is the only place, which I feel they are taking advantage of. Atmosphere was very good too by the way. Thank you for your time.

2.5 stars– I think the whole jail thing is creepy(you can eat in a jail cell in the back area). The servers were complaining about someone coming in super late which I thought was unprofessional(we were sitting near the soda fountain area in the back). The food was meh and expensive for what you got. The salad was uninspiring. The husband liked his french dip though… I liked the Texas Toast…

Eigentlich eine typische Touristenfalle. Aber war jetzt doch schon ein paar Mal da und so schlecht ist es nicht für typischen American Fastfood.
