This Winchell’s location is located right next to Starbucks near a corner and shares the lot with Von’s(where parking is free, there is also street parking right in front of Winchell’s). I stopped by this location last Friday a little before 12:30 pm. I parked in the Von’s parking lot and walked over. Because I won a free dozen donuts($ 9.50 value) from the Holiday Fest the weekend before, I thought it would be nice to pick up some donuts for the people at my work(also I am not a big donut person, and especially my husband and I would not be able to eat 1 dozen). When I walked in(if you park at the Von’s, you will enter through the back entrance), I headed towards the front of the store. I was immediately greeted by an employee behind the counter. I showed her my voucher for a dozen donuts. She asked me what I would like. Being that I do not eat donuts on a regular basis, I just asked for an assortment. She quickly boxed up an assortment(including some Christmas decorated donuts, I am such a sucker for stuff like that) and then was on my way out. Then I headed to work and dropped off the box. I did save 2 donuts though(one glazed that was decorated with red and green frosting for Christmas and one sugar donut) for my mom and my husband. Since no one at my home bothered to eat the donuts I brought home for them the day of, they all consumed it the next day(I also got a bite of each). And to my surprise, they both were not stale and tasted good(well like a standard donut). Although this place does not have fancy gourmet donuts, I thought the service was friendly. There were plenty of good ol’ fashion donuts to choose from(Why does everything have to be so hipster and fancy? Why can’t we just enjoy something as is?). There is also free WiFi available as well.

I called to make an order for our business & the service was beyond THEWORSTEXPERIENCE I have ever had. WORSE than a Black Friday shopping day. I got hung up on twice by a woman named Claudia. When I went into the store, I spoke to John, the manager & couldn’t believe how people like that could run a business. «Stop taking it personal» he says… «There are so many donut shops you can buy from. It doesn’t have to be us.» he said. Well you know what? That’s exactly what I’m going to do. I am DONE with this place. I never EVER expected a place in PASADENA to be this terrible. It’s a good thing that my co-worker was there recording the whole thing because this is going to go VIRAL. This place is a joke & I am taking my business, as well as my whole stores business, elsewhere.

I stumbled onto this gem while hunting down a Starbucks. I was actually going to the Starbucks next door! But I saw that this place had wifi, and the Starbucks was small and dingy. I walked in, and was instantly amazed at how clean it was! To my experience, most donut shops appear dirty and not appealing. As I walked down further to the counter, I passed many chairs and tables. All clean, and well kept. The wonderful lady at the counter let me know about how the bagels and sandwiches are made. I ended up getting their combo deal, which was a bagel sandwich(chorizo), a donut(or a bag of chips), and a coffee(or soda) ! I experienced wonderful service, was given a lovely meal, and was surrounded by an amazing atmosphere. This place is big enough to fit many people, whom might want to study. Their WiFi is also private, so you can have a quick and safe online experience.

This place has been here since I was a teenager in the 80s. It was a necessary stop before our weekend outings. I do not eat donuts anymore, but being in the area for an errand and seeing this shop, made me crave a plain donut. It didn’t disappoint. Good cake, not greasy with a light crunch. I eat healthy so no donut shop will ever get a five star rating just because they promote unhealthy eating. However, I enjoyed the nostalgia of the place and my half a donut!

The staff is the friendliest people a business could have. I’ve come here quite often and always greeted with a smile and very accommodating. The 4 stars go to service because while their donuts are good, they’re still only barely above mediocre.

I’ve been here once and will never return. I ordered a donut & it was moldy. So I ran to the counter and got some milk to clean my palette, and … the milk was sour! I kid you not. I was horrified and tried to explain to the one employee there(it was late at night), but his English wasn’t very good and I’m not even sure he understood me.

Food is excellent and even the WIFI. What I hate though is how crowded this place is becoming. Loud crowded, I mean sometimes there is no music, but the people here is like a swarm and then now the music is all loud in here. Plus, its freezing cold in here! =( Attracts the most ghetto kind of crowd unfortunately… so much so that I just cannot CANNOT focus on studying here. This is probably my last time here. I just can’t do it no matter how good their donut is or their bagel bacon avocado is. The ambiance is like a circus gone mad. Crazy circus too. Like think of people always chatting up a storm with no filter and no idea of keeping quiet. Kids galore too… YUCK unless it’s yours.

Awful! 7:15 am on the last work day before Valentine’s Day and you are completely out of heart shaped donuts and Valentine’s Day donut holes? Really?

Don’t come here. See attached photo of a raw donuts. The other donuts were burnt. When I told the store employee they shouldn’t be selling those donuts, they just nodded. I even asked him to pull them from the shelves before someone got sick. Nothing happened. What pisses me off is that they know that the donuts weren’t at consumption quality, but they kept selling them. I get it, no one comes to Winchelle’s for good donuts, they are(usually) okay. But today, they have lost the service of me and my company. How in the world will you sell donuts that you wouldn’t even eat. This is a health concern. Even contacting the HQ branch, they could care a rat’s ass. If you’re in the area and want donuts, just go down the road to Arroyo. Those at least are cooked properly. I hope Pasadena closes down this shop and replaces it with a real donut shop, this place is unacceptable.

Donuts. 24hrs. What more can you ask for? Delicious donuts! Don’t get me wrong, these definitely hit the spot for me time and again, hence the 4 stars! I’ve never had a piping hot donut fresh from the fryer though. Hence 4 stars. I appreciate what these people do, so I support it wholeheartedly. Classics on tap: Sugar and Sugar Twist. Chocolate and Chocolate Twist. Donut holes, etc. just come here and get your fill, already! Tip: Beware stinky homeless patrons. They mean no harm; but be prepared if you’re insensitive or something.

It’s amazing to me that the Starbucks next door is packed while Winchell’s is mostly empty. This place is so friendly, and the food/drinks are so much cheaper than Starbucks. I think the only drawback is the lack of outlets for laptop users. Then again, looking at the clientele, I feel like Starbucks is for yuppies or people who don’t have to work, while Winchell’s is for people who actually have somewhere to be, so they grab their food and leave, hence the empty café…

Once in a while when I want to avoid the long lines at Starbucks and grab a quick cup of coffee and treat I’ll come here. Coffee is cheaper and pretty good. Also, usually grab a glazed donut. I never get sick of their glazed donuts! So simple but so delicious! Always quick to order here. At most there is one person in front of me in line. Staff is friendly and makes your order quickly. Also a great location right near the Lake avenue shops. You can find street parking or park at the lot across the street near Ross.

I had a croissant sandwich with bacon and egg. It’s not listed on the menu, but you can ask for it and they will blankly stare at you. Service here is confused.

Came here looking for an alternative to the always busy Starbucks and low and behold … I found one ! So what the coffee is made from a machine ! The coffee is literally half the price of a Starbucks coffee. I purchased a small coffee and muffin for $ 3.29 with tax. Not bad ! For the health conscious peeps, they have fresh squeezed orange juice and a green juice drink made with apples, pineapple, kale, and orange juice for $ 3.99. The staff are very friendly and you’re usually out in five minutes or less. It’s time we patronize the ones who paved the way for Starbucks and coffee shops that came before them. Give Winchell’s a chance !

I like this place a lot. I think it’s one of the best winchells I have gone to. All the workers are very friendly and helpful. I ordered the turkey sesame bagel sandwich and it was super delicious. You must try! The donuts are very good too. I definitely recommend this spot. The coffee is good as well. This is my go to spot after a super early morning class.

Came in today and ordered my regular hot deli sandwich but substituted turkey for ham. It’s supposed to come with bacon and avocado, both if which are not on it. All there is is turkey, cheese, and sauce. Very disappointed by this. Also, the service was the most horrible I have ever experienced there. The guy at the register has absolutely no idea how to work it and barely talks or looks at you. Horrible customer relations!

I grew up on donuts. My grandma loved donuts too. She walked down to Winchell’s(not this location) for coffee and donuts and bought a dozen to bring back with her for our afternoon snack coming from school. This location is a disappointment of what Winchell’s used to be when I was a kid. I’ve come to this location a few times only to be disappointed. Donuts with no love are not donuts. They’re fried dough! The donuts I’ve had here are fried bread with very little glazing. I recall donuts of the past were thick and fluffy squeezed in a bakers dozen with little space in between the top cover. These donuts are small, not fluffy, and very thin layer of glaze. I recall glaze whether chocolate, maple, or sugar to be nice and thick. Glaze should be painted on donuts in multiple passes. I’ll pass from buying donuts from here. What a shame! Winchell’s was the place before these mom and pop donut shops popped up.

Do not order sandwiches from this place! They give you bad ones. I ordered bacon avocado cheese sandwich and the avocado was rotten. Normally, you would not be able to see the avocado because the cheese is melted on top of the avocado. I happen to scrape some of the cheese – personal preference – and there it was rotten avocado. Am not talking about blackened or bruised avocado, but r.o.t.t.e.n. I spoke to the manager today and he tried to justify his employee’s wrong deed by saying they were out of avocado when they made my sandwich. Are you kidding me?! So, does that make it RIGHT to serve bad food to customers? How about, sorry, but we ran out of avocado, can we get you something else? Definitely go somewhere else if you want a sandwich! I come here to do some studying done and the women that work here are all very nice. But am very disappointed now.

Nommm I loooove donuts! Went on Sunday night after some margaritas, chips and salsa. It’s a weird combo yes, but it was sure delicious! I got the vanilla glazed chocolate donut. :D The worker was a little slow and he was kind of irritating. He lacked a lot of customer service. and when I asked him which donut was which, he was really off. I asked him what kind of donut was in the VERY back(which was the vanilla glazed donut), and he points to the 3rd row. I said, «No.the very back.» He goes, «Oh strawberry.» I said., «No.it’s chocolate colored???» He said, «Strawberry sprinkles.» WTFACK?! After the 3rd try. he got it right lol. Geebus. But all in all, it was great. They remodeled the place, and it looks a lot better and more modern!

What can I say… its Winchell’s man! Dunkin Donuts East Coast — Winchell’s West Coast. Not many left around but this one in Pasadena is still awesome. The great busy location means fresh donuts most of the time(like all donut shops — get there in the morning although today I did an after dinner donut). Great coffee too! I love the jelly donut… Jelly get in mah belly! :) 24 hours of Jelly in mah belly! Sweet!
