The staff is all friendly, Alban, Anahis et al. The salmon is excellent. On some saturday nights they have a special menu for $ 38 you can get a choice of soup or salad, prime rib, and choice of any desert on the menu. It is a great deal of food. The pizza use to be great it had french pears and larger, but do not like the new pizzas do not know why they changed it. The mushroom tastes like the lean cuisine pizza at ralphs.

This place has so much potential to be better and it’s really sad that it just isn’t. We came on a Monday afternoon for the dineLA menu. Upon first walking in, it seemed like the waiters were all unorganized and didn’t want to be there. The setting is also beautiful but with any sort of background noise(like nice music), it kind of ruined the ambiance. I ordered the chicken adobo and it came undercooked. Not even by a little bit. It was raw in the middle. They came back with it later and it was cooked fine but they didn’t compensate us at all for it. I also had the caramel apple cheesecake and it was extremely small. Tasty, but small. I really want to come back here in the hope that they can and have the potential to improve but it might be really hard to justify it.

I have visited this restaurant on multiple occasions and in each instance the food has become increasingly worse. My most recent visit was during restaurant week this year. The restaurant offered a salad or soup for the first course and an entrée as the second course for $ 20/pp. Sounded like a very reasonable price for a meal associated with The Langham Pasadena Hotel, so we decided to give it another shot. I ordered a pea soup for my first course, which was lukewarm when served; and, chicken adobo as my second course. Biting into the chicken adobo tasted like I had taken a bite out of a salt rock. It was as if the chef had accidentally dropped the entire carton of salt into this batch of chicken(I wish I were exaggerating)! To fend off the saltiness, I immediately chased it with the long grain white rice the dish came with, which was completely saturated by a deep brown sauce. The rice was completely under-cooked to the point where the middle of each grain tasted completely uncooked. The rice grains were extremely hard to swallow because of this. When we politely inquired with our waiter, he said: «That’s what chicken adobo is supposed to taste like.» To his credit, he did offer to replace the dish with another chicken adobo, which we declined since he informed us that that is just how this dish is supposed to be. He also tried to offer a complimentary dessert(which typically costs another $ 5 on the Dine LA menu). Needless to say, we asked for the check and left hungry and dissatisfied. Not overly upset, but just dissatisfied that the quality of a supposed 5-star hotel had such poor quality food. The ambiance has become very dated over the years and it definitely shows on all the finishes throughout the restaurant. I miss the level of service and impeccable standards when this place used to be a Ritz Carlton, and find myself thinking the exact same thing after each visit. Helpful tip: Valet parking(which is the only option on property) is $ 6 with validation. Car does arrive fairly quickly since it’s never busy at this property.

I met my friend up here that I haven’t seen in forever and we ended up double dating so I got to meet her new beau. Irrelevant possibly, but I’m setting up the mood. It was the perfect place to do exactly that on this Dine LA week. Rainy outside so we got to sit right next to the brunch foods which was super tempting. I’m glad we went when this place was participating in Dine LA, otherwise we wouldn’t have come here. Fortunately, we only had to pay 20 for an entrée and dessert or app(didn’t include the valet price). Although the serving sizes seem large, i saw the reg menu was pretty pricey. The mood was casual with kids and bday parties, but I still felt fancy being there! Service was alright, the waiter looked pained when we asked for the special dine LA menu though, but he was overall a delightful man who joked about random things. He even offered to bring me new soup bc I hadn’t touched it since I was waiting for me friends’ food to come(why I was waiting? I don’t know). Nice place to walk around for a bit, apparently they filmed some days of our lives here?

Ordered from the Dine LA lunch menu during Sunday brunch. Service from the waiter was nearly non-existent. Coincidence? Food was mediocre to boot. Very meh.

Went here for Christmas dinner 2015, pre-fixe meal for about $ 80 P. P They quality was ok, the choices were poor and really did not have any option or ability to customize to cater picky adults or children. Given that it was a christmas dinner, not sure why you would not offer kid-friendly options as well. Seems they just wanted to attract the older clientele who had no desire to cook at home. The place is getting dated and not really updating with the times. It reminds me of a country club dining room.

Sunday brunch. Pro– this hotel is very classy with an old school charm, plush rugs and rustic furniture. The brunch ambience and vibe was great! The service was good abs attentive. The manager brought my son a coloring pad and kiddie cup. Validation helped, $ 14 down to 5! Con– the dim sum was some of the worst I’ve ever tasted. Overall, the food here was cold like steam buns and Peking duck… very disappointing! The congee was bland. Just heat up your food! Overall, it was not worth $ 58!

Our package at the hotel included 5 breakfast up to $ 60 each day. You’d think that would cover a lot, but we busted that every day but one and we didn’t eat that much. So, yes, it is pricey, but let’s talk about the various food options. Lunch — poolside — nice enough in December to sit outside. A cup of soup and ½ sandwich combo… just enough to peak your tastebuds. Nice. Really nice. Breakfast Buffet — had this 1 of the 5 days(on Christmas) we were set close to the door to the outside and it was FREEZING every time someone opened the door. Seriously, sit people who don’t have a reservation next this this ice box… highly disappointed that we had to suffer through our meal — reignited my sinus attack. How about — USEOTHERDOOR — that doesn’t open into where the guests are seated? Now the food — had the omlette station — the guy I had zero Christmas cheer… sorry bud you had to work on this day, but don’t be a Crabby Appleton to the guests. The lady at the station next to you… she gets it… take notice and learn from how she works the guests. Food was okay — had to wait an eternity for waffles to come out — seemed to be out of a lot of food… then there was some sort of Chinese food being set up — that costs another $ 25 for that… not sure it is worth $ 58 — our buffet was $ 32, but really unclear on what was included and why the various price structures. Have everything ready for buffet or don’t do them. Regular breakfast — Pancakes were good with a side of fresh berries — hot maple syrup or blueberry sauce — loved it. Steak and eggs — good meal. Langham breakfast — a bit of everything — also good — what the hell is a Banger? It was good — looked like a triumphed up hot dog. Energy Breakfast — has this after my spa treatment — An egg white frittata with veggies and tiny little white potatoes. Fresh Juice — Winner. Service in general was good — be sure to ask NOT to be sat anywhere near the door going outside in the winter or you may freeze during your meal.

Literally the worst dim sum I’ve eaten. 5 total items from frozen. Peking duck would be nice if it wasn’t so old and not meant for Peking duck. Skin was soft and cold. In real Peking duck, air is pumped into the duck while cooking to lift the skin off. They literally had a poor woman standing there peeling skin off this regular roast duck all DAT. The ONLY fresh item is the omlete station. For $ 58 per person, this meal was insulting. Stay away, not worth it, especially with really good dim sum just a few miles away in Monterey Park.

THISREVIEWISFORTHEDIMSUMBRUNCHONLY I came here yesterday to celebrate my friend’s birthday with mimosas and breakfast! We love brunch so this buffet was such a great treat. The hotel is beautiful! but getting to the Terrace can be a little confusing with the vast corridors of the hotel and other events that might be happening. When we finally made it down to the Terrace(conveniently located next to the pool) we were seated and we began. The brunch is a standard high-end buffet with an omelet station, hot food items, pastries, and charcuterie and cheese — which by the way, was wonderful. The omelet chef is so sweet and she really loves her job(which is always so nice to hear!). What appealed to me and my friend was the dim sum station(or that an affluent hotel would have something like this) — the dim sum is very limited. You have the traditional har gow(shrimp dumpling), shu mai(traditionally pork dumpling in wonton, but this was also shrimp) and two selections of steamed buns. I wouldn’t recommend the dim sum morsels, because they are not reminiscent of what REAL dimsum is. Honestly, they kind of look and taste like the frozen dim sum you can buy at 99 Ranch — which is convenient and can be good if you’re doing it at home, but for $ 58/person — you have to do better than that, especially when Monterey Park/Alhambra/San Gabriel/etc. has REAL dim sum and is only a 10 minute drive away). They also offer jok/congee(rice porridge) and some pickled vegetables, which I actually have to applaud them on. The congee was a great consistency and mild to no strong flavor — which is what you really want when you make this. No doubt — the hotel staff is extremely friendly and approachable. You can truly tell that everyone working their loves what they do and I truly appreciate that. But I would recommend ordering off the menu and skipping the dim sum brunch — not worth the hype.

I really enjoyed my meals here. I stayed at the hotel while attending a meeting and since it was a shuttle away from downtown I came here for my meals. It’s the perfect spot for breakfast/brunch because it’s by the pool and there are plenty of outdoor seating. My pancakes were really good with a blueberry compote and maple syrup. The orange juice was also fresh. A squirrel tried to share my meal a few times but aside from that it was pleasant. For dinner, I got the prime rib special. I don’t remember the last time I had a prime rib dinner but this was definitely delicious. It came with a side of baked potatoes and bacon. We also dined outdoors. There were many other items on the menu that looked interesting and I would have loved to try. Service was also consistent.

Came here for the chinese sunday brunch. The food is decent. We had a large table indoor(we had a big party). The omelot bar was nice. The fresh juices are definitely something you should take advantage of. The chinese food was just ok. Better than your regular chinese buffet I guess. Not as good as a regular dim sum restaurant though. You’re at a 5 star hotel, I would imagine they’d hire a great dim sum chef. Oh well. It’s a little expensive honestly. Probably a 3.5 star kind of place. Round up? Round down? Guess it doesn’t matter that much.

A great place for salads by the pool. We ate at the Terrace after participating in a free yoga class being offered at the Langham Hotel. Free spa services were offered after yoga, so participate if you can. This place was just casual enough that we could still wear our workout clothes for brunch/lunch.

Langham is such a beautiful and elegant place. If you’re lucky, you might be able to find parking along the street outside if not you have to valet at the hotel @$ 5. Made a reservation for The Terrace on labour day holiday and it wasn’t crowded. Oh, once you arrived at the hotel lobby, turn to the right and follow the sign to direct you to the flight of stairs down leading to get to the Terrace. It is not easy to find, ask for direction at the reception if you’re lost. It’s such a relaxed and peaceful place to have brunch. If the weather is not too hot, get a seat at the patio overlooking the pool. It will make you feel as if you’re on holiday! I ordered a Combination Meal(half soup half salad) @$ 16. Picked French Onion Soup and Kale Salad. The dish is very elegantly presented and portion is perfect for me. French onion soup is very very good with lots of onions! Kale salad has crispy carrots and strips of sweet and juicy young coconut that gives the salad an even more refreshing taste. Very different from the kale salad that I usually have. Very good food, service and ambience. Will be back!

I’ve had the privilege of coming here numerous times because of my family member’s preference to come to eat breakfast here. Located on the lower level of the Langham near the pool, this relaxing restaurant overlooks the pools and has a view of the nice bridge that goes… somewhere.(Never actually walked down the bridge). It is the more chill, casual restaurant in the Langham. The other being the upscale Royce. In terms of the food, the food is decent. They have the usual breakfast dishes from your eggs and bacon to your huevos rancheros to your steak and eggs. In addition, they also have a breakfast buffet for around $ 30. If you are ordering off the menu, there are few dishes I recommend. 1. Yogurt Parfait or the Acai Bowl(New): They are relatively the same dish except for the difference with what you have at the bed of your bowl. For $ 12, it’s not what you would want to spend for yogurt or acai but the price is reasonable in terms of this place being in a high end hotel. The bowls are topped with fruit(strawberries, blueberries, bananas) and granola. A healthier alternative for your breakfast. 2. The Breakfast Sandwich: A kaiser roll(I believe) with cheese, eggs, tomatoes, and bacon. A simple dish that comes with a side of has browns and half a tomato with sprinkled broiled parmesan on top. It can be split with someone because even though it isn’t very large, the bread makes it pretty filling. 3. The American/Langham Breakfast: It is your average eggs and choice of bacon, ham, or sausage with a side of hash browns. You can’t go wrong with this choice. The eggs are usually made to your liking but feel free to ask them to remake it if they are not done correctly. As for service, the servers are very attentive. The waiters are always there to assist as needed and the busboys and busgirls are always there ready to refill your coffee cup or provide you with any additional assistance. That is probably the reason why my family always comes back. Parking is either street or valet. When there ISN’T some event going on, the parking on the street is convenient and a short walk to the restaurant. If not, the valet parking is super convenient. REMEMBER to validate your ticket so that parking is $ 5, or else it is around $ 15… The Terrace is also decent for dinner. I haven’t been there for dinner in a while but they have a limited menu but the food is still good and the service is still on point. And there is free WiFi, supplied by the hotel, if you need it but it’s pretty slow so unless you are really low on data or really need to get someone done on your laptop, it might not be worth it to connect.

Came for a Sunday birthday brunch and did not leave disappointed. We ordered off the menu, made a reservation and enjoyed a table on the patio. Our young son had the children’s breakfast and it was a true bargain. I had the shrimp and grits. I didn’t really catch the Cajun notes– but I did really enjoy the smooth creamy grits and the perfectly cooked shrimp. My hubs had the short ribs eggs Benedict — very very good. This is a lovely restaurant and a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of LA. This would be a perfect spot to bring out of town guests; or your significant other for a lovely date!

I really like this place but when I came a few days ago, I felt like the food tasted way different and not in a good way. I think their chef changed or something or they’re using lower quality meat now because it just doesn’t taste the same. Like always, I got the prime rib dinner(only served on weekends). The corn bisque I ordered for my appetizer was way too sweet and didn’t taste like how it normally tasted. I asked for my meat well done, but usually when I get it, it’s not THAT dry and is flavorful and good to chew on. But this time, my meat was so dry I could barely eat it. The sauce used to dip your meat in tasted different too. it was so watery that even though I dipped my meat in the sauce, it didn’t really make a difference and I couldn’t really taste it. Ended up finishing half of my prime rib but it was not a very good experience… dessert was fine but I was really sad that the prime rib changed so much! Before it used to be cooked well done but not dry either, so I don’t know what changed this time. Anyway, still giving it 3 stars because I’m hopeful about this place and I hope that it was just a one time thing… although my family is pretty scared and we probably won’t be back for a while.

Last year my family spent our Easter at the Langham Huntley. I originally had a reservation at the Royce’s Easter buffet but I couldn’t get an earlier reservation than 2pm. My young children would be very hungry by then so I put my name in for a table at the Terrace and they were able to accommodate us although they were extremely busy. The food selection was very limited and the brunch was very disappointing. The freshly made Belgian waffles were the ugliest I have ever seen. The only redeeming part was that they were served with cute miniature glass jars of warm maple syrup. The omelette bar ran out of avocado. The omelette chef just scraped what was left in a bowl and couldn’t even refill it. The dim sum and juk and its condiments were just plain gross. The toast, bagels, pastries were generic and not house made by a pastry chef which I would have expected from other similar hotels. The smoked fish and condiments were blah. The fruit weren’t nice and the desserts were beautiful but tasted terrible. My DH who has the lowest standards in food thought the food was horrible, too… I’m not a fan of buffet brunches but for the price I would hope the items would at least be quality. I’ve eaten at The Royce and the food there is good. Other than that the Langham Huntley is a very beautiful property located on sprawling grounds and is vintage, glamorous, and classy.

The Langham is a beautiful, well maintained property. Very classy and old school. The gardens are manicured. The long dark hallways with huge paintings always give me a kick, during my stroll and contemplation, lost in my own thoughts. Locating The Terrace restaurant is no easy feat. It’s down two flight of stairs and by the pool. Choices of both indoor or outdoor sitting. The tables by the pool are quite pleasant, under the shade of huge umbrellas. The service is prompt and professional. Our waiter took our orders and got us coffee right away. Our lunch was nor underwhelming or over. I noticed that most of the clientele seems to be a little snotty. Maybe it’s the area???

Came here one weekend for the breakfast buffet. For $ 48 a person, the selections were extremely limited. Sausage/bacon station, omelette station, dim sum station(ha gow, siu mai, veggie dumpling, bbq pork steamed bun and congee with pickled preserves), bagel/waffle/cereal station, cheese/salmon/salami station, and lastly dessert station. Nothing stood out for the price. How embarrassing! The interior was not as grand as I had hoped. The ceilings are low. Walls/baseboards can use a new coat of paint. And drapery needed steaming. Walking down to the restaurant felt like walking into a basement. The exterior is much nicer.
